He looked much bigger in the trailer. His design is pretty sweet though.

Please buy Optimus Maximus if only so Hasbro will release a new Metroplex. This thing needs a toy.

Should have been much bigger, he`s city sized and yet he looks like he`s just one or two buildings combined. Also looks a little chubby and badly proportioned.

Also the title is wrong, it should be Metroplex Heeds the Call of the Last Prime but oh well.

Also, if Metroplex is so powerful, then why didnt he go into battle sooner? If you have a freaking city sized Transformer than can crush your opponents why wait to use it?

If they dont release one then someone needs to do a re-tool/repaint of Cybertron Metroplex, he`ld be perfect.

He does seem a bit small-ish...thought the perspective may be a bit skewed here.

But I would definitely love if we could have a giant figure made from him. It's a pipe dream yes......but a 3 feet tall Metroplex. *dreamy sigh*

Everyone's saying that he's too small but if you look at the pictures, metroplex is standing on a surface that is much lower than Optimus is standing on cos you can see his knees but you cant see his shins thus making him look smaller
You can see in this image that metroplex is standing on a lower surface as his legs go much lower than the surface Optimus is standing on.



Basically what I am trying to say is that if metroplex and Optimus were on the same surface , then metroplex would look a lot taller

He's big enough to do the damage.
While there's plenty of pulverized dust, industry, and a stable atmosphere, I wouldn't expect it to be the same as Earth's.
Besides, he's surrounded by a planet of mega-structures which may distort scale perception.

Edit: I'm constantly amazed by the [v3] Unreal Engine. It wasn't too long ago that you could only dream of that amount of polys on screen.

no not supreme class - I want metroplex launched at Fortress Maximus size... then he'd be close to the scale we want... can only dream though.. those days are gone... unless he turned up in a movie I guess and then would end up looking like an alien va jay jay

i think it looks awesome. Once again they took a G1 model and updated it so that anyone who ever knew metroplex, can look at it, and immidiatly say "hey...THATS metroplex" good job!

God DAMN he looks fantastic. I especially love his face for some reason, really dynamic and manages to look good on the body despite it having that "DOTM Voyager Megatron" effect where it looks TINY compared to his huge chest.

Also, I think he turns into some kind of super-spaceship, those giant spires on his shoulders HAVE to be cannons of some kind.

He looks pretty awesome...and tho the pics don't show the scale quite right, in the game vids, he's flipping huge, cause he's quite a ways away bombing the crap out of everything in the background, then at one point steps over and area and pulverizes a tower in a single punch. Thing is, he's definitely city-sized, if he was on Earth. Things on Cybertron are a bit bigger so that can throw scale off too. But yes, this bot is flipping huge...and awesome.

The only thing that kinda makes me chuckle is he can really only see straight in front of him. It's like he has blinders on lol.

Yeah, a double Supreme Class sized toy of this, haha! Or maybe just his head, that'd be around Scout sized, right? All kidding aside, the look is growing on me about as much as it can without seeing Metroplex in action and moreover transforming.

Like WFC it's built on the Unreal engine. Same as Gears of War.

Someone said it earlier. Why would you wait till most of the Autobots are wiped out before you unleash this beast a.k.a. Metroplex?

Maybe he wasn't yet "fully operational" like the 2nd Death Star? Hope they explain this.

Maybe i forgot but wasn't Trypticon in the first War for Cybertron game? If so then perhaps the Decepticons had a city-sized TF on their side and they caused so much death and destruction that by the time the autobots were able to come up with their own city-sized TF it was already too late?

Yeah i'd love to see a toy of Metroplex but Hasbro has said it before, given the child safety laws of today, a figure like FortMax from the past would be illegal and hence anything of that size and scale would be.

Now, if they had a way to have individual components launched which were child-safety safe but was able to combine together a super large robot, that may be workable.

Oh really that kind of sucks, what's the laws regarding a figure of that size?

Is it just me, or does Metroplex's head look bigger now?

I'm guessing Metroplex didn't join the fight until now because A) the Autobots and Decepticons were more or less evenly matched (so the big guns weren't really needed), and B) Zeta Prime doesn't strike me as the type to willingly call upon Metroplex until he absolutely has to. He only brought Omega Supreme into battle after he himself failed to stop Megatron from claiming the Omega Key.

As for why Optimus didn't call upon him, I'm guessing that the "heeds the call of the Last Prime" thing is literal, aka Metroplex will only answer to a Prime. Thus, while Optimus may have been leading the Autobots after Megatron kicked Zeta's ass, he didn't become a Prime until after Zeta died.

I'm atill not impressed they got Fred Tatasciore as another city base former robot. He was already Omega Supreme and Tyripticon.

Nice group of pics! As others mentioned, in these, the scale looks off, but otherwise, they're great! Glad they posted them for us to enjoy.

I want them to make a Supreme-class Metroplex, which they can also remold and recolour into Fortress Maximus.
