Ford Australia And High Moon Studios To Customize An Aussie Transformers Ford Falcon

When things aren’t good for the Ford Falcon… who you gonna call? Transformers! Yep indeed, here’s a chance for you to turn a Ford Falcon to a Cybertronian.

Ford Australia and High Moon Studios are joining together to get their fans to customize the Ford Falcon. According to the official Facebook page of Ford Australia:

“To celebrate the launch of the new video game Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Ford and Activision are giving you the chance to create an Aussie Transformers Ford Falcon. Over the next four days we’ll run polls inviting you (our fans) to vote on a selection of characteristics, which will make up our Falcon Transformers car.”

The first poll ask the fans, should a Ford Falcon be a Transformer would it be an Autobot or a Decepticon?

Your votes will shape the final art created by High Moon's own art team. And the Ford Falcon will get customized according to the preferences getting the most votes.

"High Moon Studios, the developers of the coming Transformers: Fall of the Cybertron game, will turn the results into a piece of concept art showing the Aussie Falcon in both car and bot form.

The artwork will be unveiled to coincide with the new Playstation game’s release on August 22, and signed copies will be used for future Ford activities."

Ford Falcon sales are going down these days, but hopefully this promotional campaign will do the trick.

From what I've seen, the car is going to be an Autobot, and that it may end up being a Falcon XR6 Turbo Sedan.

So for the record, the car needs to end up blue, in an ideal world. As that means one of two homages is possible:

1. Blue Falcon, the old Hanna Barbara character who showed up in Harvey Birdman.
2. Captain Falcon, naturally.

It's going to be an Autobot that will transform into a Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo Sedan, and will end being the colour of Ford Blue.

Now we just have to wait for them to decide on a name tomorrow.

NIBMRatchet posted a source from carsguide.com.au that conflicts with the initial report and states that it is specifically concept art.

It's apparently not part of the game, just cross-promo artwork capitalising on the game release.

Blame government regulations. That's why rear wheel drive cars are being phased out in America. I'm sure Ford would LOVE to sell that here.

Well, it's been decided and the vote results have been sent through.

The car is going to be an Autobot, it will end up being a Falcon XR6 Turbo Sedan, coloured in Ford blue, and will be named Falcatron.

The concept art will be ready in a couple of weeks.
