Already prime 100. Why double xp when the rewards are already sky high. Now it'll be like this: Guy buys game, Puts disk in console, Selects multiplayer, Selects TDM, Gets 1 assist, Primes, Wins a game with 1 kill 10 deaths, Gets Prime 100, Sells game because the multiplayer was to short, Smokes bath salts...
That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. People can already hit Prime in three days, why not just kill off the rest of the game's population before we even get a single map pack? It would be different if they had multiple Primes to obtain but as it is, many of the players are going to play this weekend, hit Prime 100 and then move on to other new games coming out such as Borderlands 2. I know what you're going to say, we don't need people like that, we have dedicated fans and we'll always be able to find a game! Well we still need that fodder, those people who fill out the games and make it entertaining.

Speaking of moving on to other games, I'm playing Starhawk now not FoC. The only thing keeping me playing FoC quite often is my place on a leaderboard. Plus Starhawk has free map packs and no extremely high priced DLCs.
I just can't believe they're dumb enough to do this, I get the appeal of keeping your customers happy by giving them more XP but not this early, especially when your game already grants far to much as it is. Most gamers these days need a reason to keep playing, double XP only works when it helps you reach a goal, when everyone is already max level it's pointless, by the second double XP, there will be nobody excited because after one weekend they're through. I'm getting Borderlands 2 on Tuesday and I'm buying their season pass for $30. You get access to FOUR full-sized campaign add-ons for as much as you get for three character packs in FoC.
In all fairness, I play quite a bit, but I still only see a handful of people who have hit Prime mode, and I've maybe only seen three people who have maxed that out. I think a double xp weekend is stupid since we already get so much xp, but not everyone has achieved Prime mode yet, so this isn't completely "pointless".
Does everyone quit after their classes are all maxed 2X? I know there will be some that will do that but what happened to playing for fun? It's nice to have a goal, but I think it's still worth playing if the enjoyment is there.
Sadly the days of playing for fun are nearly extinct. Kids these days for the most part need incentive to play, once they "complete" a game they move on to the next game. They don't need much, like Call of Duty and their 10-15 prestige modes to replay through. They don't add anything new, maybe an emblem or a weapon skin but it's enough to keep them playing for months on end without pause, until they reach their goal or the next game comes out. Sure there will be people like us who play the game just because we like it but the vast majority of the population are going to move on as soon as they reach Prime 100. DLC might bring them back temporarily but not for long.

This. And to add to that, not all of us have three days to sit glued to a console. Some of us have day jobs and lives outside of video games and this is a great way for some of us to reach that goal so that we can just have fun and not feel constantly outclassed. I actually have been spending as much expendable time possible and I haven't even hit prime mode yet.
