Via Facebook and Twitter, High Moon Studios have announced that (by demand of the Dinobots) this weekend will be a double XP weekend! This is a good time to get in some extra levels for those multiplayer classes and level up your Prime mode characters - and why not do it with friends from TFW? Check out the TFW Fall of Cybertron Community Matchmaking thread to see who else is playing this weekend!

@HighMoonStudios: The Dinobots have decided this will be a Double XP Weekend! Starting at 7:00PM EST

Cool. These were always helpful in WFC. If I can get some good playing time in I should be able to get all my characters leveled up. Depending on how fast it goes and how much time I have maybe I'll even activate prime mode (never did in WFC).
The F.N.G.
Cool. Can get a little closer to Prime Mode with the extra experience.
Duwian
Yes! Three levels on Titan and I'm a Prime!!! Easy, now!
lildevilchick
Everyone's gunna be all done leveling by the end of this. xD
UndeadMonkeyGuy
Already prime 100.

Why double xp when the rewards are already sky high.

Now it'll be like this:

Guy buys game,
Puts disk in console,
Selects multiplayer,
Selects TDM,
Gets 1 assist,
Primes,
Wins a game with 1 kill 10 deaths,
Gets Prime 100,
Sells game because the multiplayer was to short,
Smokes bath salts...
The Constructicon
That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

People can already hit Prime in three days, why not just kill off the rest of the game's population before we even get a single map pack? It would be different if they had multiple Primes to obtain but as it is, many of the players are going to play this weekend, hit Prime 100 and then move on to other new games coming out such as Borderlands 2.

I know what you're going to say, we don't need people like that, we have dedicated fans and we'll always be able to find a game! Well we still need that fodder, those people who fill out the games and make it entertaining.

Becomes zombie,
Eats a guy's face,
Bites policeman,
Starts zombie apocolypse.

Dammit High Moon, you've doomed us all!

Agreed, this is an incredibly foolish move.
Jadryx
I wonder if the numbers have gone down quickly and they are trying to entice players to come back already. It's hard to tell when they took the counter out.

Speaking of moving on to other games, I'm playing Starhawk now not FoC. The only thing keeping me playing FoC quite often is my place on a leaderboard.

Plus Starhawk has free map packs and no extremely high priced DLCs.
G1Vanguard
Yay! I just Primed yesterday (right before the whole Massive Fury ordeal) and now I'll be able to get myself back up to speed!
G1Vanguard
Yes! Can't wait! I stayed at level 25 on all classes for ages until yesterday when I decided to Prime, and the game has been hell for me without all my loadouts and upgrade choices. Hopefully now I'll get myself back up to 25 and rock CTF again!

2 hours until double XP launch!

I just can't believe they're dumb enough to do this, I get the appeal of keeping your customers happy by giving them more XP but not this early, especially when your game already grants far to much as it is.

Most gamers these days need a reason to keep playing, double XP only works when it helps you reach a goal, when everyone is already max level it's pointless, by the second double XP, there will be nobody excited because after one weekend they're through.

I'm getting Borderlands 2 on Tuesday and I'm buying their season pass for $30. You get access to FOUR full-sized campaign add-ons for as much as you get for three character packs in FoC.
Cyber-Scream
Sweet. Now I can get those MP trophies without devoting all my time to them.
StayingInTheBox
Looks like my weekend is planned
LegendAntihero
I wish I could play but I'm going to Comikaze that weekend.

These events are pre-planned, numbers don't have anything to do with it.

In all fairness, I play quite a bit, but I still only see a handful of people who have hit Prime mode, and I've maybe only seen three people who have maxed that out. I think a double xp weekend is stupid since we already get so much xp, but not everyone has achieved Prime mode yet, so this isn't completely "pointless".

Ok. It still seems pretty quick after launch but all I can really compare to is WFC.

Fair enough but it won't be for long, especially since they're going to keep this up.

Does everyone quit after their classes are all maxed 2X? I know there will be some that will do that but what happened to playing for fun? It's nice to have a goal, but I think it's still worth playing if the enjoyment is there.

Sadly the days of playing for fun are nearly extinct.

Kids these days for the most part need incentive to play, once they "complete" a game they move on to the next game. They don't need much, like Call of Duty and their 10-15 prestige modes to replay through. They don't add anything new, maybe an emblem or a weapon skin but it's enough to keep them playing for months on end without pause, until they reach their goal or the next game comes out.

Sure there will be people like us who play the game just because we like it but the vast majority of the population are going to move on as soon as they reach Prime 100. DLC might bring them back temporarily but not for long.

This. And to add to that, not all of us have three days to sit glued to a console. Some of us have day jobs and lives outside of video games and this is a great way for some of us to reach that goal so that we can just have fun and not feel constantly outclassed. I actually have been spending as much expendable time possible and I haven't even hit prime mode yet.

Yeah you're probably right. That's a bad side effect of Achievements/trophies too. A lot of players will get them then move on to the next game so they can keep increasing their score.

Once I max out, I'll be dominating the battlefield again, so I won't be quitting anytime soon.

This is me too. I think I have maybe 2-3 hours total play time in competitive MP. My classes are in only in the 6-8 range right now. It makes it slower to level up when you're usually in the mid to low range of the scoreboard as well (me)

I may have an hour or two at the most this weekend to play.
Optimus Prime
Good to see this; I started playing this a week after release and haven't had much free time to spend on it, so I've been way outclassed in multiplayer. I'll be on Xbox tonight. RisingDragon11 is my GT.
knightmare6
Sometime tells me tonight's the first time I'll probably run into a room of boosters, LOL
Composite Ghost
Nice. I need all the help I can get.
salmonman78
Son promptly got off Halo:Reach when he saw the "Dinobot Destuctor Pack Downloaded", now he will be glued all weekend with this!!!
MidnightBliss
Great. I suck so bad that this may actually get me some levels!!!!
Trailbreaker77
Jumping on now!
gokuz23
Xbox Live Gamertag jad1994 i'm always on! so Hit Me Up! if you wanna Play Some Dinobot Destruction!
Dark Magnus
Sweet, I can 100% this game and turn it in for some AAA titles without having to give Activision any more money for their ODC.

When I leveled up in WFC, I played to get a high kill/death ratio and see how high I could get on the leaderboards.

Competition is fun too. I don't understand where this mentality of Competition =/= Fun comes from. As someone who has spent a decade competing off and on in fighting games, I can tell you that competition is a **TON** of fun.

It puts a lot of focus on personal growth and improvement, which is something I enjoy. I'm competitive because I like to be good in all things I do, whether it be gaming, life, or work. The competition, whether it be a tournament or what not, is your medium to put your skills to the test, to see whether or not your hard work and practice paid off.

There's a lot of frustration when you're in the competitive mindset, I'll definitely say, but once you understand what the spirit of competition is all about, you see the fun in it. There's a lot of thinking and physical execution involved in being competitive, and for me it's a thrill to learn those skills and see it pay off in my gameplay.

Anyways, I think I might actually Prime and hit up 100 combined this time around.
JoeHavok
I just can't play every day because of work, so this is awesome news for me. And this game is superb, it's all I've been playing lately.
Wadeledge
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF course it is. You see I'm going out of town and can't play this weekend which is exactly what happened with WFC.
BlueAngel_Bolt
Sweet, have Sunday off and work until 6 tomorrow night. If I don't get at least one of my classes maxed i'll be disappointed in myself.
Trailbreaker77
So is the double XP live now?

Thats probably what I'll end up doing.

Of course the one weekend I would LOVE to get some XP in, I forget to bring my Xbox to my dads...
Cataraks
I'm real glad to hear this. After playing this game since launch, not one of my multiplayer characters have broken level 10. This should be fun.
Opticron Primal
I like how it was "We need more EXP Weekends! Leveling up takes too long!" in WfC and now all of a sudden its "We already get a ton of EXP as is. EXP Weekends are idiotic!"
Grimlockimus
Just unlocked Prime mode and is currently trying to level my guys up.

I can definitely feel the difference without the perks, and I want them back ASAP. Motivation!
J2DK
I've already reached Prime 25 with all four classes. It only took me 1 day and 20 hours of play time on the leaderboards.

I'll let my friends know, however, and play with them as they level up!
