I think it all looks cool, particularly Wheeljack's vehicle mode, but this "Day 1 DLC" is probably all on the disc already so it's basically Activision saying "This game is really $70, not $60."

I am dissapoint.

Ugh. At least Steam DLC tends to go on sale, though.

And, more importantly, we're actually GETTING DLC on the PC.

All this should have been released with the game. We saw most of these character models well before the game went gold. one of the dev interviews( or something) even stated that wheel jack was going to be one of the default character models.

I am frustrated enough with these kind of practices that I might not even bother to pick the game up, though I had been contemplating picking it up this afternoon.

I'm just gonna bite the bullet on this one. These designs are too awesome.

For 10 dollars, that is not worth it.

Meh...I like them, but god damn...when did skins get to be so expensive? It's such a bummer that they aren't available by completing in side quests in the main game.

His colors are only available as a Decepticon. Your chassis works on both Autobot and Decepticon frames with different color schemes.

Why couldn't they have just released this with the game? Charging extra for pre-order bonuses was bad enough but yeah, their only getting my money for the game.

There's different ways that they can do it.
They can push them out with updates, so they're on you're machine but not available to you unless you pay.
However, I am certain these are all on the disc already, but hidden away behind a 108 KB key that says you've paid.

I'm just absolutely sick of this Day 1 DLC crap.
DLC is supposed to be additional content that refreshes a game and extends its life. However, it has become a way for game companies to hide the actual retail cost of the game. As has been said before, these models were all shown before the game went gold. There was a decision made to deliberately withhold them for additional revenue.

As excited as I am to pick up FoC on the way home from work, I am not going to support Activision with another $10 for content that should be accessible already. I refuse to do that with any game anymore -ever.
It's why I pretty much don't buy Capcom games any more, and they used to be my favorite game company.

Because, you know, everyone's being forced to buy this DLC, because it's SUPER IMPORTANT TO THE STORY AND THE GAME.

It's an optional little bonus thing for people who want to buy it. You are literally not missing out on anything if you don't buy it. Calm your tits, gang.

It's moreso the fact that the DLC is apparently on the disk waiting for an unlock code. It's like getting charged for something you've already technically purchased.

Day 1 DLC here, for 10 bucks at that, is extremely annoying.

wow I was kicking myself for not-preordering... but day1 DLC not cool and I don't want to even be in the situation that its even an option. Its just that scummy a sales tactic.

Question is this actual DLC or just on unlock code so others can see the DLC without needing a download? I'd hazard a guess and say its a little 108kb file. Also I love the idea of paying $2.5 to unlock a character model for multiplayer thats super f**king levels of lazy.

On a side note when people bitched at me for saying I was just going to bitch and buy it anyway... I didn't infact the DLC in WfC with the lack of any anti-cheat patches actually put me off the game all together and I dont see me buying this game at full retail.

I think $10 is a little steep, especially with what we got in WFC for $10. I haven't decided if I'll go for it yet or maybe wait and see if it goes on sale (hopefully by then the MP isn't dead!) Either way I probably won't actually be paying out of pocket for these as I just have to take a little time to earn some free MS points so it's not too bad (although I could use those point for other stuff I want)

The UK. Order from Play for swoop, £45 and order from game for the G1 retro pack, £45. Normal version is £35 on amazon and £39.99 everywhere else from what I've seen. It could just be the UK.

You literally are missing out on something that's on the disc that you already paid for unless you pay extra. It's the very literal definition of "missing out". There's no poetic license applied.

Further, it's a design philosophy of deliberately not including content.
It's not "let's give the customer as much as we can".
It's "how much can we get away with charging extra?"

I would have no problem if there was a way to unlock this stuff through normal play but also give the option to shortcut it with your money if you chose to. But it's all locked behind your wallet.
The whole term Downloadable Content (DLC) is deceptive because you are not downloading anything.

Why people continue to see features removed from games unless you pay extra and then say things like "calm your tits" amazes me.

so its an actual file so its around 150-200MB? wow I think in some ways that actually makes it worse since even if I did get it not a single sole could see it unless they also picked up the pack.

No, its on the disk. If you buy it and run around as Blast Off then other players will see Blast Off because all the data is already on the disk.
Whats worse is that we know at least one more DLC pack is coming because we've already seen Hound in two different videos and once again its already on the disk.

The Havoc pack is a 108kb download. It is a code to unlock content on the disk that already exists. Think of it as a paid access cheat code.

The character pack on XBL Marketplace is 108kb, so yes, it's just an unlock key.

Day 1 DLC is just another way for game companies to say "We're making you pay an extra ten bucks to get this content that could have been usable in the first place." This habit of trying to milk every penny possible out of the consumer is sickening. Especially when it's just four characters, one of which has been touted as a main character for ages, and should be playable in the first place.

I was at the midnight launch last nite and was lucky enough to come home with the foc add stand with the huge prime on front and the grimlock on back.Can't believe they already have dlc's going on I've not even had time to play yet boo!

Im still shocked BlastOff is in the pack thats f**king shamless thats like being able to play as Ryu in only single player till you spend more money.

Did you just compare Blast Off to Ryu? I can understand your outrage but this is more like not letting you play as Abel or El Fuerte without buying it. The Ryu analogy would only work if they denied you Prime or Megatron in multiplayer without a DLC. Blast Off is hardly and iconic or headline character.

Yeah, its pretty shameless. People who remember RE5 and its versus mode probably remember it being faded on the menu until you bought the unlock code for 800/400 points. I forget which, but you get the idea.

People come down hard on capcom for doing it, High Moon shouldnt be treated any different.
