Kotaku has posted up some information stating that Activision is working on a Transformers title due out in 2010. The developer involved in this project is High Moon, who also brought us the Bourne Conspiracy video game.
Speculation from Kotaku is this will not be a movie related game as that is coming this year. Given the rich history of the Transformers franchise there are numerous possibilities for what this game could consist of. You can check out the article by clicking here.

I couldn't agree more. The show was smelly in my opinion. But the game was a joy.
I just wish there were more TFs multiplayer games.

OK, what about this…
Just as an idea…
What a bout a Tranformers 'Battlefront' game? You know like that StarWars BattleFront 1&2, But with Tranformers.
Just think of it. A vast plain/ or air space, 16 players either side. Players asuming roles of TransForming warriors on foot, on wheels or even in the sky blasting each other. Maybe even custome bots?
Oh I can dream, but come on software gurus! Make a game like this and expect success.
In fact s*d it! Let's see if I can make some games….
Be Right Back, just let me know what you think to my idea.
Transformed
I wouldn't mind another Transformer game that plays and looks something like Transformers Armada–hated the show, but loved the game!
Think Armada is the best Transformers game to date!!!!
Transformed
Grimwing
It will be part tapper clone with ironhide and part bosconian clone with cosmos.
Then movie devestator will show up and shout "I am sinistar"

Sideswipe80
I would buy that in a heartbeat.

How about this. All series that have been made for Transformers in a Smash Brothers style. now THAT would be awesome.
The_Black_Sheep
If it's not gonna be a ROTF game, then it will most probably be G1 themed.
But, if it were Classics/Universe themed… then I would literally jump out of my skin!
Johnator
If it is a G1 game it is bought! Awesome news and look forward to playing it. I hope you get to choose either Autobot or Decepticon as a side. Cannot wait for this.

That's a pic of an old game.

Cool! Did anyone here in the U.S. buy a Japanese PS2 to play that G1 based Video Game? I was about to do it about a year ago but the PS2 was going to be like $250 and the game was like $60, but I wasn't sure if the Japan power cable are the same in the US.
Kimmer
PLEASE be a g1 based game! as soon as i saw the phrase,"non-movie" my interest peaked about 200%. being non-movies based at least means we're off to a good start. i would love to see a g1 based game with cel shaded graphics. i think that would look pretty sick.
JusticeSabre
Animated or Universe, please.
Sledgehammer
No, really, they shouldn't. Yeah, by all means, get members of the Melbourne House dev team on board, but Atari themselves are a busted flush.

On the one hand – yay, a TF game with the potential to be excellent. On the other – it's Activision, a publisher increasingly deserving of its 'worse than EA at their worst' tag.
But that aside, and putting on my impartial hat, I'd guess that this'll be a G1 title, and here's why:
First, the movie games are what they are, promotional product for a Hollywood blockbuster. The budgets for these come out of marketing funds rather than Activision's coffers, and the overall market for a non-movie movie game probably wouldn't be substantial enough to warrant development investment.
Second, TF:A might have a fair-sized fanbase amongst the fanbase, but again, outside that, there probably isn't enough of a target audience for Activision to do what they really want, which is to exploit the property and thereby rake in the dollars.
Third, G1 is far more likely to appeal to the age demographic with the cash to go out and purchase the title, and has the largest possible cast of characters to pick from (a substantial asset given Activision's plans for annual releases).
I could very well be totally mistaken, but given Activision's corporate direction these days, this just strikes me as logical. But any way it turns out, I just hope that it's entertaining, involving, looks great, and gives us something to really enjoy as fans and gamers alike.
Will be watching this like a hawk. And enquiring about possible iPhone conversion rights.

Please be Lego G1 Transformers.
Otherwise Beastwars would be awsome but highly unlikely.
PrimulArchangel
I hope its better then the past games. The beast wars games i thought were the best of the bunch , that armada one totally sucked tailpipe.. Id like to see a game with no limits and never ending bad guys. like a rainbow six + resident evil + tombraider ect ect lol.. No fighting games i hope , they are lame and are only cool for like the first few days of owning it lol
Rhinox555
I'm fairly certain that's a pic of an old game because there's no pics of this game yet. Convoy no Nazo i think, one of the hardest games ever.
