US Masterpiece Skywarp Packaging Image MP-Skywarp
TF08.net has posted a back of box image for the upcoming Masterpiece Skywarp. The back of the box also reveals the bio and tech specs for Skywarp, and gives us our first look at the official photography of the toy. Check out the image by clicking on the thumbnail to the left, and the bio posted below. Don't forget to click on the bold link above to visit our resources page on Masterpiece Skywarp for even more information on this toy.

Skywarp appears once again, reproduced in near-perfect detail. He is a cheap and dirty thug who takes simple joy in catching friend and foe alike unaware. Though he's too lazy to be an effective warrior without direct supervision, he puts immeasurable into planning the pranks he pulls on whichever unfortunate target wanders into his sensor net. He'd rather lounge around on the airstrip than fight, but he's always ready to slash a few tires.

I already have MP Skywarp, but I am still going to get this
Paradigm-Shift Prime:
I wish it was Thundercracker if it had to be a seeker repaint.

luckily, mine never had most of the complaints except the being really oily part. I wonder if they ever explained that
RageTreb:
So, what's the word on a release date?
Obsidian X:
Looking pretty sweet, It's going to be the fifth time I buy that mold.
I can't have enough seekers.
Now bring on a Sunstorm repaint please.
Skylock:
Very awesome.
samtastic:
How much will this cost in the US?

Already answered in this very thread: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transf...ml#post3838471
IACON:
Can't say I'm gonna get him. Already the got TAKARA's Masterpiece. I haven't even opened it yet. Been so busy since I got him.
Blackout:
Gonna get cause it will look cool in universe packaging.

Side note: I wish they'd re-release all 3 G1 seekers in one universe box like they did with the insecticons. Yum.
openchallenge:
just make universe/classics voyager seekers. that is what really needs to happen.
Kaymac:
Oh man! I better put this on my Christmas list!
Bathawk:
anyone know when he (and grimlock?) are due for release?
ElBlancoDiablo:
hey quick question about masterpieces toys.

Im a big fan of the Skywarp character and all, not much of a collector though so im not sure what the pricepoint normally is for one of these masterpieces toys. Im in Ontario, Canada and got enough department stores around that you can prolly through a store price at me and i could get there.

so eitehr way, this toy looks awesome and i want it. get back to me please.

edit: bathawk puts a good question out there too. Any idea?
edwardduff2009:
hi i like the toy and will buy it when i get the chance i just dint like the bio they placed on the box
Bgrngod:
So... perty.

Damn it.... I'm a sucker for MP figures. Even when I already own the mold 4 times. Gah!
Ravage_Eject:
Schweet!

I offered my opinion on this figure then you returned with a smartass response so I defended myself so you took things off topic. If you wish to continue this charade for some odd reason PM me because I don't want an infraction.
LifePincher:
Nice, but I would like to see the other jets in MP form, instead of the same molded 3.

Bring on Dirge, Thrust and Ramjet
leadsled:
i just got the Takara one in April when my bro came back from japan

awesome figure...mind you i paid 80$ Canadian

it looks like the only difference is the decals...the Takara packaging will be way better

if you dont have him, i recommend him Highly

Abso-freakin'-lutely!
justinRODimus:
very nice how much??
Jetstorm:
I'm glad they're bringing Skywarp to the US! Hopefully they'll do the same to Thundercracker.

And then all they gotta do is make some proper armor to make Ultra Magnus look like he does in the show and I'll gladly buy him
Enigma2K2:
They're not gonna keep blackwashing these things, are they?
Kaijumaster:
Hasbro needs to adopt a policy

"No Skywarp without Thundercracker"
"No Thundercracker without Skywarp"

KingGrimlock:
cant wait love skywarp
Mega-con:
I have the Takara version, but fuck it, I'll buy this one. I want Sunstorm, though.
SoundMaster:
Looks nice.
newguy:
i will have to buy it
REDLINE:
Why the heck does he have black feet??? dangit!

SO happy for Right-side up Faction Symbols!!
Cinemastique:
Is this the final deco?

Changes from Takara deco I've noticed:

1) Painted apps
2) Changed wing stripes
3) NO shoulder stripes
4) NO Chest stripes on the intakes
5) NO paint on the inside of the hip kibble
6) NO Forearm stripes
7) PURPLE tailfins, instead of black
8) SILVER shoulder spires, instead of black
9) ADDED paint apps on the inside of the shoulder spires
10) CHANGED missile deco

-Also, the Right-side-up Decepticon insignia are inconsistent with WalScream; his were upside-down. Also, the wing stripe pattern is different; WalScream had the Takara MP-style wing stripes.

All-in-all, the Takara version has a MUCH more elaborate deco. What the US version does have, though, are painted apps instead of decals, and added paint on the shoulder spires. The tradeoff seems negligible for Takara SW owners, since more deco is deducted than added.
StarFire_MK2:
I hope this will be better quality than the US version of Starscream.
BigRC83:
Nice, but I think I will keep my TAKARA version.

MP Starscream was up on Wal-Marts website. ROTF Skywarp and Ramjet are on there now, as I write this.

I guess my searching skills are bad then. I searched for all transformers toys and the entire site and neither are there.
[Wing_Saber-X]:
PASS. Already got Takara's version.
However..... i might just maybe bite if its the price is not too high.
Xaddion:
This is why I never consider buying masterpieces until they're released in the US.

He's usually shown with MP-6's colors, in fact when the comic first came out, speaking to the colorist on the Allspark he said he purposely used MP-6's colors instead of a scheme more based on the G1 toy like this version. Surprisingly though this one retains the gray feet of MP-6 and the comic.

Ramjet:

That doesn't mean they will always be on there. If they're gone at some point, just check back every few days.

Of course, any Wal-Mart exclusive is not rare, by the very nature. Wal-Mart has over 4,000 stores in the U.S., and while some stores may see little or none of an item, I've never had a problem finding a Wal-Mart exclusive. Between seeing them stockpiled at some stores, and the website, most everything is pretty accessable.

If you plan to take it out of the package, go for it. If you plan to keep it sealed, don't do it. There will be all types of labels all over your shit and you won't be able to remove them.
Tell_Story:
He's such a catch 22 for me. I love the mold and the colors, I'm not that willing to drop $59.99 on him though. Especially after Starscream was $48.88 and later rumored to be found at round abouts $30.00 on sale shortly after.

I must confess his purple and black make me think of him as a Baltimore Ravens Transformer which is huge for me.

Yes there are a lot of changes. The Takara version was in line with the changes they made for their MP3 Starscream. The Hasbro version has a cartoon styled robot mode (minus the extra purple) with a G1 toy styled jet mode.
