Um, guys ... I have my Armada Unicron in front of me and the Universe's Unicron's lower legs have completely different molding.

Maybe that'll make him more circular?

The only thing I can see that possibly looks different is the stomach area. It almost looks like there is silver paint in between the "abs". Although, it could just be the flash reflecting.

I think that silver looking thing could be a twisty tie, havin zoomed in on the pic you can still see the orange there.

I think that is just flash. The head does look more yellow though.

That's what I'm guessing. It would be a major improvement to the mold.

Perhaps this time we get a complete planet transformation instead of half ass planet!!

Its just a marketing thing for the kids. Transformers is traditionally split between Autobots (Good Guys) and Decepticons (Bad Guys), so they stuck Unicron in with the bad guys for simple categorization.

Unicron would have no actual faction sigil on him.

seriously, if these are overstock how does the stuff it in a new box scheme logistically work?
did they stick these in a warehouse over here for a couple of years and then send then ship the stock back for stuffing in new boxes?

I cannot see these things sitting in chinese factories for years...christ it seems anything not bolted down is stolen.aka. walked out out the back door if it does not ship out to the USA in short order.....

or does the boxes get shipped here and we do the stuffing here and then send out to retail?

That is because he is packaged with the heels and feet flipped up over his front lower legs. The heel piece practically reaches his knee.

He looks pretty nifty in the Universe packaging. If he ends up not being different than the Armada deco I may still pick him up if I see him on clearance. And I have to admit, his box art has that "Those damn kids are on my lawn again" vibe to it. XD

...It looks the freaking same. I don't see anything different, unless they decided to give him a Cyber Key gimmick to replace the Mini-Con port on his back. Other than that, it's the same Armada Unicron that's been clogging shelves since August of '03.

It looks like Hasbro is starting to cut some corners in sending out Unicron from the Armada series and pakaging it in the new Universe line. It's very upsetting. Anywho, come up with your own conclusions.

hey i recall that when unicron was repainted as black energon unicron, everyone started to complain. so what's the point of a repaint. if this is the fri**** classics, dont people need a version of unicron that goes to the classics. i also recall unicron never changed in the cartoons execpt for energon so either way it would be the same mold and it took about 20 years after the first apperance of unicron in the g1 show to make the figure. the only reason u all are complaining is because u either dont like the unicron figure, or u already own it. many of u are also forgetting unicron was very rare at major stores (excluding the online websites).

I think the beard is darker on the universe then the armada one.

Its funny that I don't know how I feel, maybe I've been in the fandom so long that I feel like complaining that it isn't re-painted.. at the same point in time, I am saving myself like $80. Good for those who don't have it. Maybe we'll get a new paint job on a re-molded Unicron someday or something.
