Peaugh has also posted an Ironhide video review here and feedback thread here so you can check out these upcoming Universe releases however you prefer!
Quite the awesome figure. His alt mode is the same as Sunstreaker's, with a shinier turbocharger (which is likely being swapped with Sunstreaker's):
Transformation is much the same, with the head facing a different direction:
Also, a jetpack!
Brothers:
Like I said above, and outstanding figure, with enough differences to warrant a second purchase. Also, the red is a BEAUTIFUL deep pearly red, almost metallic. VERY nice. Definitely an A+ figure, get it when you can!
EDIT: Swapped out Sideswipe's lower legs. PERFECT!
Hey, are his limbs (and the parts that are grey on Streaker) white-ish? He might be easier to turn into Red Alert than I thought.
G1Wheeljack:
Nice, I like how his weapon & turbocharger are shinier, but I'll keep them on Sideswipe when I get him as I like him better. I do hope next years Botcon set has a Punch/Counterpunch out of this mold.

Yeah, the light grey bits are all white.

Yeah, I'm debating it, I just think Sunstreaker SHOULD have a shiner turbocharger, especially since it's part of Sunstreaker's look, and just an extra piece on Swipe.
I agree though, if we don't get a P/CP version of this mold at some point down the line, someone isn't doing their job.

Ah, cool. I'll have to buy two then.
MushroomPrime:
Awesome, I can't wait for this
eriku:
Awesome! I'm so glad he's got those white parts. I passed up Sunstreaker waiting for this guy and now I'm even more excited for him to arrive.
MushroomPrime:
Passed on Sunstreaker? Why? The toy is great
Papasmoak:
Excellent photos, thanks Peaugh.
Railguard:
Awesome review on Sideswipe, it makes me want him even more than before!!

Because Sideswipe is much more iconic to me, and I typically don't buy more than one mold of any given toy. Not knockin' Sunstreaker at all, if it were only him available I'd have nabbed him long ago.
Same goes for Prowl/Silverstreak. I'm holding out for Streak.
Ktulu:
Looks great
Powersa:
Nice review. Great photos on the twins!
Ravenxl7:
Nice pics . I'm looking forward to getting Sideswipe. Sunstreaker is pretty awesome. Here's hoping we get at least one more figure out of this mold (Red Alert), if not two more (Wheeljack).
silenth:
Excellent review. This is why Peaugh is my favorite reviewer: nice, clear, concise. None of that flamboyant stuff. Thank you again kind sir.
The only thing missing is the drama. What? no ironhide drama. Dang. I miss the silverbolt drama.
artiepants:
S P E C T A C U L A R !
Can't wait.
his head looks better in these shots too. And i can definitely see that shinier turbocharger going to 'Streaker
BigRC83:
Cannot wait to get this guy along with Bluestreak and Ironhide.
Robogeek28:
So much win!
Peaugh:
Yeah, one of the things that's cool is that Sideswipe is actually TALLER than Sunstreaker. I know! It's because his head sits a little higher up on the elevating mechanism so it sits above the hood chest (the windshield chest on streak sits a little lower AND has that lower divot in the middle.) It's cool.
The only drawback currently to giving the shinier turbocharger to Streaker? Only the outside is painted. If you stuck it on Streaker in robot mode, all you see is the un-painted, WHITE underside. I'd paint it myself, but the only silver I currently have doesn't match.
Razerwire:
Two questions:
1. Are his 'ears' spring loaded like Sunstreaker's?
2. Can his intake/turbocharger be mounted on his gun onto his shoulder and not bump into his head?
NeoGutsman:
Thanks for the pics! He looks terrific, and that mold overall is very clever. Makes them "brothers" more than ever before, really.
col:
Well shoot, seeing those two together makes it clear that I need to get both of the Wilson brothers. Thanks for the great review, Peaugh!
fosterlager:
Looks great, thanks again for the review.

1.) Nope, his head is all solid. He looks oddly like a robotic Tim from Tim and Eric Awesome Show.
2.) Yes, but it sits a little bit in front of his ear and looks silly. It DOES attach and still allow Sideswipe to look forward without turning or tilting his head, which I think is the answer you were looking for.

1. Good. Although his head still is a little weird to me.
2. Good. I want mine to have the whole thing mounted on the shoulder.
Joe1:
now the question is, which one do you like more?
Peaugh:
They look SO much nicer together with Sideswipe getting a lower leg swap/alternate transformation:

Is that just turning the legs or did you actually have to physically swap em out?
Looks great!

damn, that might be a "must do"!
Dolza_Khyron:
only problem with doing it the way shown above, is it will limit the joint movements, if you notice, the joint it self, on the knee, is no longer pointing forward, rather then it is pointing to the sides, so that would be the only limitation to if you have it that way

You have to swap them some way, either by unscrewing the thighs or just popping them off at the hips, or the bumper kibble will end up inside his legs and cause problems. Switching them by unscrewing the thighs lets you swap them and still transform him. Popping them off at the hip will cause issues when turning him back into a car.

Yeah, but the transformation joint sits RIGHT under that one, and works just as well as a knee joint.
sideswipe119:
awesome review i am so hyper for this toy when i see it in stores im gunna dive on it but i need another gun for his handgun sideswipes my favorite if u cant tell by my profile lol
Optimus Sledge:
Heh, I was looking at Sunny tonight and thinking about how to make Sideswipe's legs look different. Amazing to see two different characters come from the same mold. Here's hoping for Red Alert.
Icetron:
Wow glad I passed on Sunstreaker, this looks a lot better.
Overlord54:
Cool stuff. Must own

Oh my god. Now I want him even more.
Cascadia:
he looks like he might have some light piping for his optics/eyes. Anyways, he looks great.
zaktan30:
i've already got sunstreaker, love his mold,so i'm bound to get sideswipe

OK. You convinced me! I have to apply that mod.
Thanks for the pics and the tip!

SpeedBreaker:
It looks like Sideswipe's head is a little smaller than Sunstreaker's. Or does it just seem that way because he lacks Sunstreaker's head fins?

A little of both. Their faces are about the same compared to one another, Streaker just has a lot more "helmet."
heshanj:
cant waitttttttttt, looks damn awesome!
Optimatron:
Did you purchase these from E-bay, find them in a local store?? Or do you just have an amazing hook up because you do the reviews?..If you don't mind me asking.
lol....I'm dieing to get my hands on Ironhide, and Sideswipe both...I just assumed it wasn't worth searching for these figures in the stores right now...I've actually only seen one listing(on Seibertron.com) of Silverstreak being spotted in a walmart..and it was my understanding that he will be released before these two..is this correct?
Also, I have another question...for the leg swap...are you talking about the screw on the back of the thigh? I only have Sunstreaker as reference for right now...but they have the same thighs it looks like. I believe that I will attempt this swap when I find Sideswipe (especially since it's still transformable you said?)..because it looks awesome..and I believe that is gives some visual distinction between the two..oh, and if you don't mind me asking what size alan wrench did you perform the procedure with?? I don't believe I have any that size or with just 4 notches.

Yeah, the screw on the thigh. Just use a phillips screwdriver and you'll be fine.
Also, I got these from an overseas seller, they haven't hit stores yet.
MetroBoy:
Sold.

That really is very nice indeed. I'm really enjoying Classics, they really capture the spirit of the original.

Great review and thanks for the info on the leg swap. I've been planning on doing that to Sideswipe (and to make a Tigertrack) and it's so nice to see how it turns out (Awesome!).
