Universe (Classic 2.0) Ultra-Class Silverbolt Revealed at Australian Toy Fair TransformersClassics20Silverbo
Ozformers have posted some sneak peak pictures from the Australian Toy Fair, which is taking place this weekend in Melbourne. Among the figures on display, which were not previously announced or official, are Universe (Classics 2.0) Silverbolt, Animated Rollout Command Optimus Prime, and Marvel Transformers Crossover figures Wolverine, Venom, Spiderman, Human Torch, and Hulk Grey. Ozformers should have more pictures and information later in the day. Meanwhile, you can also see the sneak peak pictures by clicking the Ozformers links above or by clicking on the image to the left.

Venom was confirmed as a jeep when we first heard about him awhile back.

Ravenxl7:
That's awesome. Silverbolt is now on my to-get list. Would be awesome if we got to see some pictures of a prototype from Botcon, along with some Sideswipe pictures (though that mock-up with Sunstreaker is pretty good at the moment). Even for a cardboard cuttout, Silverbolt looks awesome in jet-mode. Venom looks pretty cool, though a little bulkier than I was expecting. Wolverine also looks pretty cool. Is it just me, or is the Hulk on the back of Wolverine's packaging in different colors? (repaint maybe?). Also, while the red jet looks like it could be Iron Man, the jet mod looks different, and even the bot-mode to a certain extent. I'm curious to see who the bike turns out to be. I'd say Spiderman, but it's black. Though that could mean it's just him in his black suit. I might dedicate a whole new shelf to the Marvel TF's when they come out.

Edit: Just read the info. So the jet one is the Human torch, the bike is Spiderman, and the Hulk is getting a repaint. Cool, though I'll probably just get one version of the Hulk. The Grey repaint, if I get it, will be the base for my WW Grimlock kitbash idea.
IronicHide:
IronicHide is enthused by the G1 artwork appearance of Silvebolt yet disheartened by the apparent cardboard cut out of the jet mode.

Likewise, Wolverine may be purchased with Hulk (green, not grey, wow that's bottom of the repaint barrel, right there). Venom looks like schmuck to me.

A question though (forgive my ignorance): Ultra Class - bigger or smaller than Leader Class?

Australian Transformers forums are xenophobic. They fear foriegners taking over their message boards if they allow them to register there, and the foriegners will be erm... going on social security and er making posts about subjects that Australians are too lazy to do.
BustaJesse:
Silverbolt looks like he is going to be awesome I am totally sold. The marvel toys are pretty weak though, like the Star Wars Transformers (except the Darth Star).

I thought the picture looked a little funny at first glance...hope there really is a classics Silverbolt on the way...

It's definetly coming, they just didn't have a prototype available for the show, so they put a cardboard cutout of what it's going to look like in it's place.
Johnator:
Silverbolt and Sunstreaker rule!!! Silverbolt looks really amazing and the boxart is INCREDIBLE! This is such a good year to be a Transformer fan.

I've never understood that mentality, but didn't even realize that xenophobia extended to multiple Australian TF sites. I thought it was just TAAU. It's quite strange. I don't see any sites requiring you to be American or Canadian or whatever else to join - even Cybertron.ca is just the same membership as 2005.

But back to the topic at hand, the Marvel Crossovers continue to look surprisingly non-crappy, and we're actually getting a Grey Hulk repaint of the tank. I guess Spider-Man is the bike and will come in red/blue or black versions, which is okay I guess. Iron Man is probably still my favorite in the bunch, but I definitely want to see more of Wolverine, Venom, and Human Torch first.

Not much to say about Silverbolt yet, being cardboard only, but the alternate mode looks decent, the hand (?) seems like it's not too poorly hidden, and yet it is odd that we're getting Autobot Red and White Airplane #3. Talk about your lack of variety, gah.
ZacWilliam:
The more I think about it the weirder it is that every Classic Autobot over Deluxe size is either the Optimus mold or a "White Autobot Jet with Red Trim".

I mean three in a row? Hasbro is ussually much more concerned about having some variety on the shelves then that. I'm not upset about it or anything, it's just really weird.

Granted they've pretty much exausted that pool now. Unless they give one of the other Aerialbots a size-boost and color-change or pull out Ultra-class Broadside.

I hope there's enough play left in Universe/Classics, that it goes long enough, that we actually get to have a Large Autobot who's not a white jet with red-trim. There are plenty of good choices.

-ZacWilliam, Watch when we finally get one it'll be Powermaster Optimus Prime. (Which would rock, but also be pretty funny at this point).
bumblebee79:
Silverbolt is a must get for me. The Marvel stuff...eh...i'll wait and see.
Cloudraker:
Classics Jetfire. Check.

Classics Powerglide. Check.

Classics Silverbolt. Check.

Classics Cloudraker? I'll take a repaint of any of the above mentioned please!!

Not quite - Blaster is a "Red Autobot Jet with Yellow trim".
Chaos Convoy:
Silverbolt looks totally awesome. I can't wait to see pics of the actual toy in the future.

The Marvel TFs continue to surprise me with their decent looking bot modes and pretty good vehicle modes. A definite step up from the Star Wars TFs. Also, it seems they'll be much easier to do a simple head swap to make them into a more traditional TF character instead of a robotic Marvel character.

And to answer your question, IronicHide, Ultra is the price class just below Leader, traditionally. We haven't had that specific class since Cybertron, though. It typically goes for $25 in most stores like Target and Wal-mart and such. $30 is the actual retail price that Hasbro normally lists them at and what Toys R Us typically charges.

Apparently the reasoning is they want to discuss Transformers issues of local significance, and if foriengers want to discuss some Transformers news that broke in Australia or New Zealand, they can discuss it on their own forums.

Of course, I don't know what requirements or restrictions, if any, are on other non-american/canadian/british ect forums, so this behaviour may be quite normal.

Well I'm sure if people asked nicely they could join us in discussing the latest sale at Big-W...

Hooray, Silverbolt looks great.
Thundershot:
The Marvel ones look like they'd look great with new heads and sold as Club exclusives or Botcon.... Hope they don't have the same restraints as the movie toys. Probably...

Maybe we can get a red and white Broadside?

The Crossover line looks great. I´m surprised.

Silverbolt looks awesome.

silverbolt looks great! Classics 2.0 > then Animated.

I dunno, I kinda think it's cool that all the Autobot jets match in colorscheme. Especially seeing as how they look nothing alike otherwise.

Personally, I'm definately gettin Silverbolt and I also may end up getting Wolverine too. These Marvel TFs look real good in both modes so a simple headswap can easily turn them into "real" Transformers. And Wolverine looks almost exactly like an oversized Cybertron Brushguard, both have similar alt modes, similar claws and similar heads.

And Grey Hulk WILL be mine. Drop a new head on him and he'll make a great Decepticon.
Storm:
with any luck they will announce Hotspot in Baby blue to break up the white jet trend.

I wonder who will be distributed with Silverbolt, if it's a dinobot, metroplex, trypticon, hotspot or motormaster i will squeel like a little girl.
Grimwing:
Silverbolt is cool (his voice actor was razor on swat kats!) that character is great and judgeing by the art will retain the g1 look significantly in robot mode. Silverbolt is a name that I just hav'ent seen in my stack of autobot jets so its a welcome addition.

ok so three ultras (onslaught, powerglide, and silverbolt) have been noted.
But wilth silverbolt taking up room presumably in the second wave of universe.

It would seem another decepticon ultra would be there. I'd like a ultra class vortex or just anybot that could help out the cons air support.

"as long as the aerialbots live my supremacy of the skies is threatened!" -megatron from "war dawn"

could'nt resist.
alien:
i just imagine how is silverbolt look like by box art... may be is damn cool thing! God!!!
enduser0001:
Hmmmm, any chance that Silverbolt will be some part of a Superion?
I somehow seem to be doubting it.

FFN, you're good at id'ing death machines, what kinda jet is Silverbolt based on?
If I remember correctly, silverbolt wasn't a death machine of any kind, he was a Concorde supersonic passenger jet... in G1 anyway. Now he kinda looks like a mutant F-117 Nighthawk.

they're not going to make four different deluxe jets for limbs.
maximus_primal:
Hot Dang!!! I Want Silverbolt Now!!!
trebleshot:
Loving the idea for Silverbolt, though it makes me sad to think he won't be a combiner. And I'm still liking the Sunstreaker/Sideswipe mold. Man, between new Classics/Universe 2.0 and Animated, I'm going to be broke the rest of the year.

I'm going to have to hold off on the Marvel Crossovers until I see them in hand, though. So there's a little money saved (for now).

Smaller. The size class is largely based on the price point that the toy will be sold at, rather than its actual size compared to other toys. For example, Lockdown from Animated is a deluxe-priced toy, but his robot mode is said to be as tall as a voyager-class toy.

Here is a general breakdown from smallest to largest:
1. Micro (individual mini-cons, micromasters, Nebulons)
2. Mini/Legend (minibots, Legends of Cybertron)
3. Basic (mini-con 2- & 3-packs, Real Gears)
4. Deluxe (Cyb. Hot Shot & Overdrive, Animated Bumblebee, Prowl)
5. Mega (BW Inferno, Transquito, 6" War Within)
6. Voyager (Movie Starscream, Blackout)
7. Ultra (BW Magnaboss, Tripredacus, BM Jetstorm)
8. Super (RID Optimus, RID Ultra Magnus, BM Optimal Optimus)
9. Leader (Movie Optimus, Brawl [the big ver.])
10. Supreme (A/E Unicron, Primus, Supreme Cheetor)

Though mega/voyager/ultra are all relatively close in size and price ($15-25 USD), or in some cases were the same. Mega has been discontinued as a price point/size class. See here for more info.
DrGrim:
ALL of my money is on Classics. I don't even know where I'll put them. My shelves are FULL.
Robogeek28:
Silverbolt?!? SILVERBOLT?!?

I can't believe it, this is awesome news indeed!

He'll make a great counterpart to Onslaught although I'll assume he'll be wave 2 of the Ultra class figs. Of course now I'm curious who his wave mate will be.

So Hulk tank will be getting a grey repaint huh? Guess I'm buying the mold twice then, I loves me some Hulk goodness! Actually those Marvel TFs look really nice design wise. Hasbro or FP, listen up, throw new heads on these guys and they'll make awesome TF characters!

Not just you, MMM. Others have commented on how it looks like a cardboard-cutout. Most likely its a mock-up since they didn't have a proto to display.

I doubt its a fake, although we're not too far past of April 1st....
Chaosbringer:
I want to see the back of the box to see the robot mode and features... hope it supports a combiner mode along with other aerialbots soon to come.
Smasher:
Silverbolt is a nice surprise.

I am glad to see that the Marvel Transformers don't completely suck.
It gives me some hope for the Indiana Jones Transformers and the Fur Real Friends Transformers.

Yeah I agree with MMM and the others that stated that this bad boy look FAKE! This is one time tho I hope that I am totally wrong! Like completely and utterly wrong. A new line up of Aerialbots would be the shyt! Heres me keeping my fingers crossed!

They did'nt have the prototype ready, so hasbro put a cardboard mock up inside the box to show you what its going to look like. Some people mentioned it earlier in the thread It fooled me because I'm just used to limited detail on a digital picture of a reflective bent window.

Not fake though. Just awesome and probably christmas at the earliest by release.
Soundwave84:
Damn i really like sliverbolt that is going to have to be a must buy for me!
MegaMoonMan:
I agree that's it probably a cardboard mock-up.

It really, really sucks that they would go to the lengths to make Silverbolt (and less so Onslaught) so accurate to the originals, yet kill off the combining.

Why bother? There are plenty of other figures that don't combine, why not do them and quit teasing us with these gimped guys? It's like getting the best slice of pie in the world, but getting punched in the teeth before you can eat it.

I guess he still could be a combiner, time will tell.
Robogeek28:
My poor Seekers are going to be SO dwarfed by Powerglide and Silverbolt.

Thanks a bunch, Chaos Convoy and TrebleShot.

Agreed, Mega-Voyager-Ultra class does seem a little bit like splitting hairs.

Just wanted to know how Silverbolt will look up against TFA Starscream.
(Or (Leader class) Bulkhead v the new Onslaught.)

The answer, apparently, is phat.

I personally have no issue with the fact that a place devoted strictly to Australian or NZ news exists, but the way the blatantly keep foreigners out. It's just bizarre to go to those lengths. Whatever.
UltraDevmodious:
the marvel crossovers are lame lame lame
Big Filipino:
Wish we could see more pics. Want to see what robot mode looks like. Does anyone know why they aren't calling this toy line "Classics" anymore? Why did they change it to "Universe"? I thought there already was a separate Unvierse toy line up from a few years back.
