Universe (Classic 2.0) Ultra-Class Silverbolt Revealed at Australian Toy Fair

On this weekend in Melbourne Australia, is the annual Australian Toyfair trade show. Hasbro had their usual display, including Transformers.

A lot of known stuff from Animated and Classics/Universe, but a couple of new items, including Classics Silverbolt (Ultra), Marvel Crossover figures (Wolverine, Venom, Spiderman, Human Torch, Hulk Green, Hulk Grey, Ironman), Animated Rollout Command Optimus, plus a few others.

Artwork looks *very* G1ish.

that is really cool. Does this imply the possibility of a Universe Superion? That would be ridiculawesome! For some reason when I first heard Silverbolt I thought of the beast one. Kind of disappointed that it's the jet TBH. I think getting some beast wars characters in for universe would be really cool.

Hasbro's really into busting up expectations for combiner teams, aren't they?

Silverbolt looks to have potential, though it's a red & white pointy jet to follow the red & white non-pointy jet that is Powerglide. I think Silverbolt may work a little better as a larger size toy though.

So the Ultra Autobots are all Jets? That makes the Seekers small by comparison. Still a new Silverbolt in that scale is cool to me.

Wow. Just wow. The Marvel guys are significantly better at this than the Star Wars guys. Let them do all of the Crossovers from now on. XD

Wolverine looks almost exactly like Cybertron Overhaul. I see lots of people doing that.

I didn't go to the Toyfair - it's a show run by Hasbro to promote their toys to retailers, so only retailers and select media people are allowed. Wrong city for me anyway... not that that stopped Griffin.

Hmm, I love the idea of silverbolt, don;t rcall hearing about him before. The crossovers are silly but not as terrible as the last round...

i hope we see new heads for the Marvel toys into actual Transformers characters.

Is it me or are Wolverine and Venom the same vehicle?

Silverbolt looks NIIICE.

They are different. Wolvie has tires on his sides where Venom has them on his upper arm. Similar vehicle maybe, but different design. Probably some Sideswipe/Sunstreaker deal with same alt mode, but different transformation and robot mode.

They look completely different to me. Wolverine's front wheels are in his torso, under his arms.

I don't really like how the shoulders are so low... and I do wish the hood was more complete... but I absolutely LOVE the concept... and considering aside from Punch/Counterpunch that this is the first I know of them doing something like this, I'm sure I can let some minor gripes slide.

Oh, and that's one awesome jet for Silverbolt.

looks like they are taking ever gestal leader and making them into an ultra....first onslaught...then silverbolt...who's next....motormaster!!!!

i don't think we will get a update for the constructicon leader cause we already got classic devastator (as a repaint)

Probably just a bad angle or mistransformation (I mean they transformed him into Sideswipe!), because his left shoulder seems to be the right height.

Hasbro AU evidently weren't provided with prototypes (probably only a few protos exist, anyway).

Companies use cardboard cutouts of toys when there aren't enough protos to go around.

Did this got over and wrap up yesterday? Its interesting to see some new stuff though well and some new things like Wolverine and Venom. So thats all I got to say.

Cool, i couldn't really see it well in between all the work I'm totally doing.

FFN, you're good at id'ing death machines, what kinda jet is Silverbolt based on?

The Good: They did Silverbolt! Awesome to see his robot mode will capture the classic toon look. I wish we could see the head in that picture, he MUST have the classic Silverbolt lips!

The Bad: This pretty much nixes all chances of combining Aerialbots in Classics just as Onslaught did for the Combaticons. Sigh. I know it's looking a gift horse in the mouth and it's spectacular just to get a G1 looking Silverbolt but I SOOOO wish they'd gone combiner for these. I want a Skydive and the rest to go with him.

The Weird: Another big Autobot jet. (Who'd have thought Jetfire would be the runt of the litter ) Lot of focus and the very few flying Autobots here. Hmm.. Other Classic Autobots they could do Ultra Class and have it make sense... Inferno (firetruck with lights and sounds would rule) Grapple, Omega Supreme (obviously, but he may be in Animated), Either of the two Dinobots that didn't make Animated, Roadbuster or Whirl would ROCK, Broadside (though he's sometimes a plane)... anyway lots of choices...

That looks pretty good, I'll probably get one. I wonder if they'll make all the Combiner "leaders" (non-Constructicon) into figures? So far we've got Onslaught and Silverbolt...who next? I could see them doing Menasor and Hot Spot.

Silverbolt looks awesome and I'm liking the Wolverine TF. However, I'm not feeling Venom. Don't know why. Maybe I'll like him more when I see some close up shots.

Nope. If you look at Venom, he looks like a pickup truck - in fact, he screams movie ironhide - and the hood splits open; on wolvie, his hood folds down it seems. Either way, maybe similar vehicles but definitely different.


Also, Silverbolt is pimpin'! That box art screams G1!

Wow, Silverbolt looks really damn nice. Although seeing him now makes Powerglide's colors look even worse. If you're going to release more Autobot jets as Classics, Hasbro, how about making some of them not white and red?
