Transformers Universe Supreme Class Unicron

Transformers Universe Supreme Class Unicron 16_30250_7d95f2e255c5fb8
The Transformers in the Universe line (and any nearby tasty-looking planets) had better look out! This grainy picture from ACToys shows that everyone's favourite Lithone eating Transformer, Unicron, is getting a rerelease in the Transformers Universe line! As far as can be seen from this image, Unicron is largely unchanged from his original Transformers Armada release. This, if genuine, will be a good chance to pick up Unicron if you missed out on him when he was originally in stores.

Ravenxl7:
Cool. I never did get Unicron during Armada or his repaint in Energon. I wouldn't mind getting him now. He'll make a nice addition to my collection. Hopefully money isn't too tight when he gets released, or I'm able to get him from a relative as a present. A Primus re-release would be cool too, but I probably still wouldn't get him. The mold doesn't interest me as much as Unicron does.
grock35:
It's a shame that they have him as a Decepticon...but It's an chance for me to pick him up since I don't own him

given that it IS the first-ever fully-released Unicron figure, it makes sense to re-release this mold *snip* under the 25th/Universe banner.*snip*

QFT and thank you guys. I'm glad to see this rerelease for the above reasons. TransFandom isn't all about superquad7 (or any other one fan who's been here prior to the movie). I own both recolors and most likely will pass on this one, but I'm glad that some people who weren't around have another good chance to get him.

As for me (and some of us), I'm glad to see the supreme size class in Universe. We may get to see other supreme class toys in Universe 2.0 as well
B-Fox:
BWA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

But seriously, just HOW MANY of these overstock figures from Armada do Hasbro have lying around?
Railguard:
Not entirely a bad idea if anyone missed out on it the first time but I have to pass, I already have mine.
taterx:
Bring on Supreme Class Fort Max, a new mold. As for Uni I got 1 so pass but folks who missed out have a second chance and should get him.
Optimus-JD:
What a lot of people fail to realize is that there is a brand new batch of children that didn't even exist when this was on the shelf before. Not only that but since the movie there are kids very interested where all they wanted before was power rangers. There will be plenty of kids pulling on mom's pantleg throwing a fit in the isle until it's in the cart. Sure a few years ago it was clearanced at TRU for 5 bucks, but this isn't for us.

Same here. This would be a great opportunity for Hasbro to release a repaint of the Energon Omega Supreme mold in G1 colors. That would definetly make a nice addition to my collection.
soundwaveCA:
It's funny because I actually lost my Armada Unicron after moving 3 times (still have a minty black one though which kicks more ass anyway) so I'm actually happy about this
Wazzpinator:
Wonder if he'll be cheaper this time round, or more expensive. How much do supremes usually go for in CDN?

Ah well, I never got Armada Cron, so if it's cheap, this is a definite buy.
UltraDevmodious:
I just called my buddy who wanted Energon Unicron but could only get it MISB for $100. Told him it’s being re-released for $50 less and he is all over it.

yeah, i think its rad too...i've got my unicron still, so thats not a big deal for me, but my cousin wasn't collecting transformers then, and has always admired mine, so now he can buy his own...which is totally sweet...i too think its nice to see supremes...maybe now we'll get that supreme autobot broadside...

Who knows. Plus with the recent trend of retailers taking it upon themselve to reduce prices/hold sales on TFs (among other things) it could be $80 one place and $60 in others.
BigRC83:
I didn't expect that.

Well said

All the gripes are laden with the 'me' factor....as in it's all about me and screw everyone else

I never owned any Unicron, so for me this is a sweet looking figure that I may plop down the $$ for.
omega ranger:
Now my Cybertron Unicron won't be so lonely. Armada Unicron, I'm all over it.
Beastbot X:
Good for those who haven't picked it up, but I already gots it.

No, it's repetetive, there are better things to discuss, like colors and stuff. I also think it's a great idea to bring all the new fans since the movie came out a Unicron figure.
dragon516:
Good deal. Now I can get myself a Unicron. I passed on it when it was on 20 dollars clearance at Kaybee when I was in college because food was more important then. Now I can get one again MISB without paying Ebay prices. Sweeeettt....!!!!!!!!
optimus major:
sweet.....even though i have one already if i can get one i am buying it cause mine lost one of his shoulder horns and the minicon can't activate features
Trek:
I wish things like this were $50 (£25) over here, but in the UK that's the price of an Ultra. This was $100 (£50) in the UK when it was released in Armada and I'll be surprised if they release it here again.

Either way for me it doesn't matter, I've got my Armada one.
n25:
Great! Never had one so this too is a great opportunity for me as well... hmmm, just imagine the Henkei possibilities for this guy
Melkava:
Great for those who missed out, heck I might get him again if the price is right.
ninety:
Yaay! I've been considering getting Unicron and Primus after TFA and Universe, this'll make Unicron easier to pick up.

Apart from the colouring, were there any other differences between the Armada and Cybertron releases of Unicron?

Also, I prefer the Jap box rather than the window box for Primus, are there any differences beyond the packaging (I know one of the English releases came with a Unicron head)?
crimbot:
I've always thought they might re release Unicron for Universe, but I would have been sure that they 3would have repaited him somewhat, I'm kinda disapointed, I would have loved even just a more movie accurate color scheme like the darker orange. A purple Unicron would have been kinda cool, or even the greeny minicon type one. Oh well, more money for Animated
SMOG:
Seems like bad marketing sense... sure, people who have never owned it will be interested, but as far as re-releases/repaints go, this one offers NOTHING for people who already have the Armada version... except maybe a BOX.

Even some mild differences in colour, perhaps to more accurately reflect the 86 movie version ("Premium" Unicron?) would have been enough to generate some buzz.

In my experience, unless you're psychotic for MIB stuff, Unicron isn't actually that hard to find nor expensive on Ebay.

Personally, I never really liked this mold (for some reason I find the unreleased Unicron prototype mold much more interesting)... I DO want Dead-end though.

The Cybertron Unicron toy was a completely different mold. It was a Deluxe class figure and turned into a Cybertronian tank. The Supreme mold wasn't repainted for the Cybertron line, but it was repainted for the Energon line, and it was essentially completely different from the Armada one color wise, but other than that was the same exact mold. Here's hoping that they slap a nice bio on this guy for his release, and that his minion (the Fallen), gets a decent toy in this line, even if it's a repaint of an older mold. Actually, the Cybertron Unicron mold would look cool in the Fallen's deco, imo, though if they use that mold for him, I hope they give it a new head. Maybe even somehow take the Titanium Fallen's head and modify it to fit onto the body.
jtuarus:
im glad he is being rereleased i got one and it was broken the first time around and they only had 1 at the time. so this is a sure thing for me. but as others have said a repaint thats closer to the movie version would have been awsome maybe they will. but at least i can skip the shipping charge on ebay.
dragon516:
Yeah, The cybertron Unicron was always Bludgeon for me than Unicron. It just doesn't make sense for him to be a deluxe size tank.

Dragonclaw:
This is probably either A BLACK FRIDAY deal for one of the big box stores...or, if they are bringing the size class back he may be a real brief place holder until other 'bots are ready...but they wanted something quick to get the price point on store shelves for Christmas...before the planogram teams used that space for other lines

Yeah, I'm going to pass if it isn't recolored, but great for those who don't have the big guy
Orodruin:
Ok, I kinda skimmed the thread, but did we really manage to go 80+ posts without anyone saying they'd wait for it to hit clearance?
Valkysas:
I own armada unicron, but I'm really happy about this. My nephew has wanted him for about a year, but was upset that he isnt in stores any more. so he'll be able to get a unicron now.

it also means I can put armada unicron in with my classics and not feel odd about "mixing continuities".
Soundblaster1:
I'll get one if I see it on clearance. To keep sealed, of course.

Did anyone bring up the possibility of this being a mock-up that used the first Unicron figure they could find? Wouldn't be the first time they've done it. Right now I'm betting on G1-style colors and this is a mock-up.

Isn't that more of the Star Wars collectors motto?

None whatsoever. Takara used Hasbro's toy (Cyber Key had the Hasbro Cyber Key Code printed on it).

The box isn't really worth it. I know. I bought the japanese one as I couldn't wait, and the japanese one would have cost me the same as the local Cybertron release at the time. If I were you, I would just buy whichever version is cheapest.

But but but but TAKARA'S AM ALWAEZ BETTAR?!
Enigma2K2:
Well, to their credit... they DID manage to make a toy of the infamous transforming PLANET, so that's always gonna be a plus... but if you already have one... or TWO, one in a different color, what's the point. Those who don't have it, enjoy...

Hmm. You might be onto something there.

If you're right...well....I'll have to wait and see how "GEEWUNNY" the colors are.

Anyway, yeah...I suppose it is cool for people that didn't pick up the Armada one. Still, with that said, I hope the Targalmartsrus's don't do what they did the last time and order a bazillion of this guy. I would like it if this thing doesn't take up space meant for other TF's.

And as for the suggestion of Energon Omega Supreme being repainted and rereleased in G1 OS colors - no thanks, that mold is terrible. Trust me on this - I spent six months trying to convince myself that it wasn't. Also, it shelfwarmed just about as badly during the entirety of Energon's run, which was wayyy longer than A. Unicron did.

There's that word again... a pox on you sir... whatever that means...
Darkspeed:
A figure like that, I was wondering when they'd get around to reissuing it again. I can say for certain how much of awesome figure he is, even though his alt. mode is a little crap (And you only get the full benefit of him when you have more Minicons to play around with.)

Just thinking though... If they're doing this Supreme class figure, who else are they going to reissue? Primus would be nice, but I'm kinda hoping for an Omega Supreme with more G1 colour scheme.
Nightrain:
Aren't we supposed to buy this, even if we already have it, to fund future Universe figures? Isn't that the rule now? If we don't buy this we will never get Cosmos!

Box art. same colors as armada release. this is not a mock-up.

I dont see any way they'd do an energon omega supreme re-release, since there's likely gonna be a big-ass animated omega supreme coming out.
Dinobot Nuva:
I'm betting store exclusive.

Anywho, pass, unless if it turns out to be a redeco later on.

Only thing that I'm remotely interested in at this point is what it will say on the packaging "CLASSICS SERIES" like the rest of the geewun based guys or "ARMADA SERIES" like the Minicon 12 pack and Hot Shot.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, it was the Armada and Energon ones I was thinking of. I missed all of A/E/C, never had the desire to catch up on them, the toys I've seen/handled from those lines............well, meh!

No, that's just a snide mentality from collectors who incorrectly assume that repaints and repacks somehow take the places of new toolings.

And also a belief collectors have that Hasbro expects us to buy each and every single thing they release, forgetten the shitloads of other people in the fandom who *don't* already own X mold or X toy.
