Looks just like the armada one. on second thought it is the armada version b'coz it includes the Dead-end minicon figure.

I love the mold so I'd be happy for a maybe "G1" repaint but this is the Armada version, that's shameless re-release

well, of course people will pass. they already have it. it's not for them. they don't have to buy it.

given that it IS the first-ever fully-released Unicron figure, it makes sense to re-release this mold [and while i personally would've preferred a recolor, it's not unreasonable that it be in these "debut" colors] under the 25th/Universe banner.

my main issues with it are the "Decepticon" faction label [although i can also understand why it's done that way] and the typically static Universe box art. but i love this packaging.

Neat! I'll probably buy it as my armada one is fairly worn, and missing dead end's peg now. also I'm Going for universe completion.

Who knows, maybe it is a recolour. The pic quality is so bad you can't really tell which colours. Maybe they made it more closer to G1 Unicron's colour sceme.

It's not. And even if the orange is a different shade from Armada, that's still a really lame effort.

That damn thing was an ultimate shelf warmer around here, I can't believe they are going to sell it again.

Eh, pass for me. I don't have the original mold anymore (I sold it as I'm not a big fan of it... it was nice, but it could have been better), but having owned it I have no desire to replace it. Though, I will say that if they had done a G1 paint scheme on him I might have been tempted.

Also, I agree with the poster who said this is a must have if you don't already have the mold. Seriously. I think collectors who've been in the game too long forget that there are those that just got into or back into collecting sometimes. It's not for you (or me really) so get over it.

Also, don't fret too much as I'm going to bet that this guy will probably be some kind of store exclusive (and given the size he's likely to be a Sam's Club or Costco one as only they have ever been known to carry large exclusives ie: Cybertron Prime/Wing Saber set, RID Prime/Magnus set & Universe Prime & Universe Magnus). Another big hint to that is that he's not repainted at all... just repackaged like the Cybertron Prime/Wing Saber & RID Prime/Magnus sets that were exclusive to Costco. I'll be really surprised if he's not an exclusive.

Easy pass for me since I already have the Armada one and it looks pretty much the same. The box looks nice, though.

Considering the fandom, and Transformers awareness as a whole, is much larger now due to the movie, I can see why this was done.

How much will it cost? The Armada one was clogging space for months at $50.

Guys guys. Hasbro does not expect those of us who WERE around during Armada to buy this. They're reissuing for people and kids who WERE NOT around during Armada.

There's alot of those people who never owned this (or any of the Cybertron molds they're repainting in Universe).

Awesome, as I wasn't around during Armada/Energon/Cybertron series, this gut is a definite buy for me.

Wow. The first Universe 2.0 toy to actually PASS on for me. Already got me Armada Unicron 5 years ago this August. And it still resides on my shelf, giving me the look of doom every time I eat my food.

I've already got the Armada one so it's an easy pass for me, but I'm glad it's getting re-released. It's an awesome toy IMO and more people should be able to enjoy it

I may pick him up as ive only got the energon version at the mo, sold the armada version a couple years ago.

I'm actually surprised it took them this long to release it again. Pass for me. I already have 3 of this mold. 2 Armada, one still MISB and one MISB Of the Black and Orange Energon version which is actually my favorite version of him.

This is a good idea. He fits well with the others in the line. I think his chest has been repainted silver with red accents. That's cool. Of course, I wont buy it since I already own one, but I wont respond to its release as though Hasbro is offending me the way others in this thread have done.

How many more posts are people going to declare that they have one and don't need one? We get it, you own Unicron, now get over it and let the people who never got one get a chance.

You know, I can't fault Hasbro for this. Sure, I already have both previous releases, but if there was an already-released figure that fits into Universe Classics? It's Unicron. And I still say this is a fantastic mold. Sure, it's not the prototyped BW Neo mold, but it's also not that old Hasbro proto either.

I still love this mold, despite any perceived imperfections. It IS Unicron. And I think people that weren't around during Armada will see that. To them, it'll be Unicron from TF:TM, not Unicron from TF:Armada.

While I'll pass since I own the original, I know someone who is bummed that he didn't pick this guy up the first time around. So I'm glad he'll have the chance to get him. And while he could have been better, this IS the only Unicron mold we've ever gotten on a mass scale, love him or hate him.

Question is: is a Primus re-release not too far behind??

No seriously, AWESOME! I already got Armada 'Cron, but some joints are rather loose. Will get another one for back up. Hopefully the price won't be that high. Might even get two.

Same here. While I agree it is a boring re-release for the people who own it, for those of us who have searched for a reasonably priced complete Unicron for a while now, this is good news.

I can imagine they've still got a fair bit of armada stock left over so fitting him under the universe banner, where he'll fit nicely, makes sense.
Also a good opportunity for anyone new to collecting, or who missed out the first time to grab him as has been stated.

This is great, ive been thinking about getting one from ebay, but now i should be able to get it a bit cheaper (and maybe even instore if it comes to the UK), if it doesnt come to the UK then at least ebay prices should be cheaper...

And whilst i do agree it is a shame its just a straight re-release, it is good that those of us that came back to TFs later in the game (with Cybertron myself) can get it.

Agreed. Good idea having this guy out again, especially since awareness of the '86 movie will likely be heightened by 25th anniversary activities.

A minor repaint would have been nice, but this was probably pretty darn cost effective.

Cool, it's a pretty generic mold but the size and playability make up for it. A G1 repaint would've been cool, but would've been a lot simpler, and that box is pretty cool
