Is the chest properly transformed, or is it just a bad camera angle?

Excellent, they've put his insignia in the right place. That, coupled with the new head, pretty much covers everything that needed to be changed. Can't wait for him.

Head swap between Sunny and Siders would give you a Tigertrack. Not sure what I'll do with the left over red one with Sunny's head. Maybe take the ears off the head and paint the body black?

If I can recall back to my 80's childhood, Sideswipe was my second favorite Autobot (behind Jazz). Great double execution of this mold.

Very nice deco, I just got Sunstreaker today and I love the design. Hasbro have made enough changes for me to consider this a different toy so I'll be getting it. Gonna try and see if I can take his legs apart and fix him up so he has the lambo rear deck slats on the fronts of his legs. Looks doable from my fiddlings with Sunstreaker. Optimus Sledge:
Yeah, the legs should be easy enough to rig for an alternate transformation. I'm really liking how what is basically a repaint with a new head will look so different from the original.

The legs are easy to do - just take out the screw at the knees and there's enough give on the plastic to remove and repklace them. Make sure you get the knee joint right though ! The shoulder hole fits the peg on the gun - you can mount that there. Runamuck:
Sooo freakin cool. I'm going to take the engine off in car mode, though. He wasn't suped up like Sunstreaker was in car mode.

On the plus side, that engine will work as a rocket pack for his 'bot mode. Sweeeeeeeet.

Does anyone know what the slots above the bot symbol on Sunstreaker are for? The bottom two are for mounting the aforementioned rocket pack but the top two appear to have no purpose. Perhaps they were planning different accessory's originally but were forced to drop the idea. Quote:

Those holes are only visible because he isn't transformed properly. The chest piece should be sitting higher up.

Heh, it's kinda funny how there are people who complain about every repaint. Not seeing any complaints about this one.

Here's a complaint: I still can't stand that new head sculpt (saw it a while back). The ears stick up too far and it his head is too skinny for it. It just looks odd. I'll still pick it up though for collecting and kitbash purposes (I'm working on a Sideswipe from Sunstreaker now and I've already completely redone the Sunstreaker head to resemble the G1 Sideswipe head). SMOG:
Not totally digging the new headsculpt. It doesn't really capture Sideswipe quite right. The "horns" look off, the cheek-guards seem to small... overall the shape just doesn't quite match. And a smirk would have killed on this figure. Too bad.  EDIT: Quote:
