Transformers Universe Classics 2.0 Released At Canadian Retail 1
After multiple sightings, Cybertron.ca has confirmed that the first wave of Transformers Universe Classics 2.0 figures are out at Canadian retail.

So far Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Tankor have been reported being sighted.

Don't forget that Transformers Universe toys will also be available for purchase at TFCon in Toronto this Saturday.

Once again, Canada has beaten US!
hXcpunk23:
That's it. I'm moving to Canada.......better healthcare and NOW early TF Universe Deluxe.
payres:
And they got the new SW Millenium Falcon too !
SMOG:
I just got back from buying all 3 Universe deluxe figures at the Walmart down the road from me. Woot!

Sometimes it pays off to live in the birthplace of Peter Cullen.

BTW... for those of you who can buy these... take a good look at Prowl before you choose one. His car mode is at least 50% painted clear plastic, and some of the apps are pretty sloppy.

SPLIT LIP:
Sweet. DO WANT Sunstreaker and Tankor. I think the same guy posted that in Cybertron.ca sightings as well.

soundwaveCA:

So true! Mine had some small scratches, but not too bad though. Prowl is still a great figure.
OmegaDead:
I just grabbed all three at a walmart in Hamilton Ontario. They still had about 2 or 3 of each one when I got them. For anyone that's in the area it was the eastgate square walmart on centenial rd.

This was the same walmart the animated first wave came out ealry at. I'm going to have to check it out more often.
SPLIT LIP:
Crap, I was going to go to Wal-mart tomorrow but now I have to go to my classes. That means another WEEK 'till the weekend.

Ah well, hopefully Lugnut'll be out by then.

Megatronwp38:

that's why I won't be getting very much from Animated, as I can't handle both.
JOHNDILLINGA:
I'd like to place an order please, I'll need two Prowls, One Sunstreaker (Gotta Make P/Cp ) and one Tankorr J/K but dayum Canada Sucks I need to move there!
REDLINE:
I sure hope we get a REAL P/CP and not a sunstreaker repaint. I mean, that's just the same bot turned around

Oh God I hope not.

I got a sick idea for a classics Punch/Counter-punch that would work and actually give him 2 distinctive robot modes AND 2 distinctive car modes.

Now if only I can get an internship at Hasbro...Hmm.

Oh yeah, I've wanted to design toys since I was 6, btw.

So how long until out Canadian brethren start getting a few extra in order to help us poor Americans get these early at a fair price?

Although I say that and I can't really afford them now at even a fair price...
optimus major:
(writes down another reason on the "Why I Hate Canadians List")

it no fair......wait.....gives me time to recover on the biggest transformer blowout i ever had......aka purchasing all of animated just released but cyb voy. megs and then voy. starscream cause they weren't in.....but still

(underlines every entry on the list with black ink big time)

damn canadians...

Another person that wouldn't mind paying a little premium to get these a little earlier. I would want one of each.
Sy-Rein:
Just fyi guys, these are $15 retail here in Canada. So anyone wanting to get them from a Canadian source shouldnt call Scalper for someone wanting $17 plus shipping ($15 plus taxes (12% in BC but it's different in each Province) is about $17)
DJCHARTERS:
i cant wait for these to come out, im gonna buy 2 sunstreakers and repaint and mod them into runabout and runamok

Is it just the DLX's, or are the ultra's out also?
Like I said I wouldn't have a problem paying a premium to get them a couple of months early.
SMOG:
So far, I've only seen Deluxes... but LOTS of them.

And yeah... it's kind of a shame that you guys would be looking at a sizable mark-up if you wanted us to score you some of these. The equity of our dollars is not really favourable for you folks.

Standard price points here in Canada are:
Scouts $10
Deluxes $15
Voyagers $30
Ultras $40
Leader $60

So, roughly 50% more than the US price, plus our admittedly obnoxious sales tax (usually around 15%). Add shipping costs to that, and it makes waiting the extra month seem more reasonable.

right, and i'm more than willing to help out anybody in the US with these when i see them, however, due to the higher prices, i hope they are in understanding of this.

Which ones are in Wave 1?

I'll take one of each if you can help me out.
Autovolt 127:
My Grandmother saw them but she isn't talking about what she saw at TRU, It;s for my birthdday.

Picking the Trio up.

Question to owners of Prowl from the official retail release in Canada. Is the paint on the transparent plastic portions (front quarter panels and doors) sticky? Does it feel like your fingerprints will be left in the paint if you hold it for too long?

Will Prowl look like this if not careful ?:

(pic is from the Prowl review thread, and has been painted slightly)

Just curious. His first packaging samples from Ebay had very sticky paint.

Love the Prowl mold so much. I have been waiting for a updated Prowl like this ever since seeing the awesome articulation possible on the G2 Cyberjets.

Exactly. And thanks for offering to help us Americans.

A lot of folks don't factor in the tax and Paypal fees, and anything "cost + shipping", you still have to factor that in.

I factor that in, and I also add a few dollars as a thank you for saving me time/effort/gas money. I've noticed that when you do that, the person buying for you appreciates the gesture, and is more likely to help you out in the future. I've done this a lot both buying and selling, and it nice to have someone looking out for you and vice versa.

And why the "I hate Canadians"? So they got stuff a little early...but it is still way more expensive than here. Ignorance is bliss, I suppose
Runamuck:
Wow, just wow. The "I have to have this as soon as possible" in me really wants to contact a Canadian board member, but with the higher price and shipping, I think I'll just wait. I'm sure it won't be that long now, anyway.

YES.

The paint is rather gummy... like it never quited dried completely. It reminds me of what happens when you try to spray paint plastic toys at home with improper paints. I have no idea why... the RID cars were painted clear plastic also , but they turned out great. There's really no excuse for this... rather shameful, Hasbro.

Since there's so much painted stuff on Prowl, it's hard to handle him without eventually leaving some grime on the paint. It's really annoying.

Here's a question for folks out there... is there anything I can coat this figure with to seal and protect the paint? Something that won't break down the paint itself?

Also, one thing that bugs me about this Prowl is his large black neck plate. It's way too high, and elevates his tiny head too far over his chest. It looks awkward, and I'm not sure if there's an easy fix for it, due to the unconventional way his head pops out of his chest. It really smacks of "let's do this transformation differently, even if the traditional way would have worked better"... and from what I can see, Octankor and the upcoming Ironhide seem to suffer from the same hubris problem. There's a point where innovation and originality in the transformation schemes can actually compromise the final product.

I didn't see any at Tru or Walmart/Zellers(on the west coast). Ages Three and up had em' on the pegs though. My Prowl was ok, except for some very tiny scratches by the rear spoiler. The paint on mine was just fine after extended handling:

I agree on the neck/plate/whateveritis. Makes his head too far up. Also, would it have killed them to paint the shoulder missiles silver? Geez.
DJCHARTERS:
despite all the short comings though im definatley not going to complain. im just glad we are actually getting these figures. hasbro could easily have chosen to go a 100% with animated figures. as much as i love the animated cartoon id prob stop collecting if i only had animated figures to chose from. any problems i have with these figures will be easily fixed with trusty super glue, paint and clear coat paint

Yeah, agreed. The overuse of white on this figure kinda bugs me. I would have liked the launchers and upper legs to be grey/silver. The wheels are also super-lame looking.

It's hard to really complain, because in many ways, this is a pretty awesome figure... but there are just so many little things that slightly irk me about it too... probably emphasized by the fact that Prowl is one of my sentimental favourites, so I'm more fussy.

As for the paint, in the first day or so, I didn't really notice a problem, but it's been hot and sticky here today, and I've been transforming him a lot. The paint is definitely starting to wear and get grimy.

He's also my fave Autobot car. Has been since I was a kid. As you said, that is why I'm more fussy.
Fury:
They just came out today at wal-mart in Pembrook, ON. By the looks of it they have quite a few.
