Combiners return! TF08.net has provided a scan of an instruction sheet for a Transformers Universe 25th Anniversary Bruticus! This appears to be a gift set in the same vein as the Classics Constructicon Devastator. We already saw two of the molds to be included in this set back in August.

This news also makes it very likely that the recolored Superion Maximus who was also seen back in August will also be seeing a gift set release.

Of particular note is that the scan provided by TF08.net indicates that the Bruticus set will be a part of the Generation 1 series, although the combiner will be named Bruticus Maximus after his Energon counterpart (possibly for copyright reasons) the five components will all be named after their Generation 1 counterparts.

TF08 has also shown an image of the upcoming Classics Legends, Brawn and Beachcomber. Encouragingly, Brawn now sports black wheels rather than the green ones from recent promotional images.

Man, that artwork is BADASS.
G1Wheeljack:
Nice, i'll be picking up Bruticus as I passed on him the 1st time around, and now I an get him in G1 goodness.
SPLIT LIP:
Win.
Takara_destron:
Do want Bruticus!
Dirge121:
I'll definately be grabbing Bruticus as I missed him the first time around.
llamatron:
Blargh. The Energon combiners are pretty preeeetty preeeeeeeeetty lame.

Minibots are looking nice though.

If that blue ball thing is even a TF at all I would guess it's a "protoform" from ROTF? Who knows...
Dinobot Nuva:
Loving Bruticus, the art with the hands is hilarious. I hope that all of the series have that timeline under the 25th anniversary banner, I'd love to see what they put for G2 XD.
The orb...looks like a bakugan or however you spell it.
DN
MushroomPrime:
The Blue ball is a Bakugan Ball.

It's the show that plays on CN after TF Animated

Yah, the blue orb thing does look like those Bakugan game pieces or a protoform as llamatron mentioned. As for Bruticus, I may pick him IF his color scheme looks nice. Otherwise, I already have the original Energon molds.

However, interesting to see that Swindle is now an aerial vehicle, whereas Blastoff is now a ground one.

thanks for the info
General Tekno:
Bruticus = COOOOOL.

Plus, since I missed the Constructicon reissue living in Canada, it'll give my Decepticons some needed bite.

(Mind you, that means I'll have 2 Onslaughts. So the Bruticus limb will have to get renamed or something. Maybe Mega-Octane, or maybe something cool like Decimus)
S250:
any mod please modify my title there is typo
Renidragon:
very interested to see the colors they'll end up using. I had the three different molds, they were pretty cool (though I don't think of the helicopter as any more than average, personally), but I didn't have the whole set.

I'd prefer that they made new hands and feet parts instead of the energon weapons, but oh well.
Silent_Magnus:
I think the club combiner is all I really want of the energon combiner molds.
Beachcomber looks sexy though.
lord ginrai:
Brawn has black tires again. Though the rest of his colors are still way off from his on-screen counterpart..

I'm curious about the colors on Bruticus, but I doubt I'd end up buying it.
Dinobot Nuva:
Hope that little gun on Beachcomber's spare tire doesn't break or bend easily while he's still on card.

As for Bruticus, this'll be the third Onslaught since the line started, Mega Octane can't be far behind.
DN
Nevermore:
flamingunicron:
so swindle is a helicopter? Interesting. Totally picking this up along with the rumored superion repaint
Mospeada:
Echoing everyone else's sentiments, I definitely want Bruticus.
Scourge_151:
Niice, I don't know if I'll pick this up, Bruticus was the one I didn't get from Energon, but I will be getting the Onslaught mold through the TFCC and the molds for the lims as well so I'll have to see.
Robogeek28:
I may break down and buy Bruticus, but what the heck is up with Brawn's tires? It's like Hasbro can't decide what color they want them to be.
Sentinel Pax:
I wish they would mix and match the Energon combiner limbs so Blast-Off could be one of the Superion jet molds. And was there not a jeep scout class mold in that line which could be used for Swindle? Just wondering.
Skywave:
Beachcomber look nice! But Bruticus is a big pass for me. I don't know that mold, but I sure don't like it from the pics. I got the classics Devastator set, and the mold aren't that great to start with, but Devy's much more iconic so I'm still happy with him More money to spend elswehere for me, yay!

Well the aren't using the jet combiner limb because they are going to release a superion repaint also. And as for the jeep class, just because it's a scout doesn't necessarily make it capable of combining with the other limbs easily.
Paladin:
Not exactly a surprise.
Chaos Prime:
OOH, I hated the Energon combiners.
I mean seriously, you can tell that they never put any thought into them. No real hands or feet. And both sets of limbs were clones of each other? Oh please.
When Hasbro makes a good combiner I'll buy it. But don't package up an old piece of s**t, and try to sell it.
Pass.
Opticron Primal:
Great...now what the hell am I gonna do with Universe Onslaught?
Autovolt 127:
do want....espically Swindle!!!!!!!!!!!

supsried he;s a helicopter, i think they ment BlastOff.
benzo:
I so want Bruticus!!

Ummmm, keep him?

Seriously, while it's an ok set, I don't see how it can replace the awesome which is the Universe Ultra leaders. I've seen folks say the same about the upcoming Superion giftset, I just don't understand it.

I'd rather have the tank be swindle also.
Ravenxl7:
Cool. It's nice to finally get some confirmation about this set. I might get them and the Superion set. The other two should be Vortex and Brawl. The artwork is really nice, imo, but it does make the limbs look a lot better than they actually do. It'll be interesting to see what the packaging for these guys looks like.

nope. the helicopter is tan and has "$" on the side.

there were so many people believing the seller who called swindle and vortex "sandstorm" and "whirl"

and blast off suits being a tank.
Omegus Prime:
Looking nice... and thank god, can we finally stop calling those repainted Energon copters "Sandstorm" and "Whirl"?
Smkscrn GT:
I'll definitely be picking up Bruticus when he hits store shelves.
Eric:
YAY! I didn't get Bruticus in Energon, but now I can with Universe 2.0.
MegaMoonMan:
Oh look, another repaint energon combiner.

Whoopie.
mainframe:
I just sold my energon one and not I can get an even better looking one. Awesome Hasbro!

am I the only one thinking that they may actually push out the boat and make this guy hands? That's what the box art screams at me. Hope it's true
giga-galvatron:
judging by the instructions, no dice. but i still might cop em.

Never trust the boxart, I'm sure he won't have new hands.
Vangelus:
Nice, I'm glad folks will get a chance at all the combiners in giftset form stateside. Great news for those who didn't want to put up with hunting down all the components back in '04 or whenever.
kenm2474:
Fail
ilikepuppies:
i made this my desktop so i can look at it until i get it
Johnator:
This is AWESOME news. Can't wait to get it!

DAMNED MEGA FAIL!

So hasbro takes a mold...recolors it for 25th anniversary line and makes a homage to G1 combaticons....fail...

Also they repaint the same limb TF's for the movie and release them before the 25th line hits...WTF?

Why would you want the same transformers repainted twice in two different transformer lines released one after the other?

where is the sense in that?

Plus this probably means that there is not going to be any other combiners released for the movie from the older combiner molds which sucks ass in it's self...

Mega fail Hasbro!

You must mean Reverb and... the other one. Those haven't come out yet, so how do you know they'll be released before the 25th Bruticus Maximus? Could end up being simultaneous or as close as possible.

gunbarrel is the other one..the tank...reverb is the coptor....I believe it was thought this fall....25th is supposed to start release this Fall (nov release of G1 prime) and I would think that this version of the combaticons would be released probably spring or summer....the movie repaints could be released any time now...so they would probably be running in stores at the same time...IF the combaticons are a giftpack that would not be too bad..but if they release them individually then you have two types of repaints of the same character molds for sale at the same time...epic fuck up if you ask me....
