If Animated is anything to go by, we might end up with those bios removed and instead just have big pics of all the toys in the wave.

Not that I am worried about that much. Once I get them, they'll be opened up and enjoyed regardless of what the card is like.

I'm eagerly anticipating this figure in August.

I knew when I saw the first photos that the weapon didn't transform into that engine- and it doesn't.

Wow. I wonder how insane stupid this auction is going to get. If Animated is anything to go by I'm guessing anywhere from the $100 to $200 range... plus $30 to ship...

Sorry, I've got enough patience to wait until they're out at retail. What another six to eight months and I save probably $190? Yeah...

Still, if one of the big spenders on this board buys it feel free to post pics... I think you're nuts for spending that kind of money on a retail item that will be in circulation in a couple of months, but I do enjoy the reviews.

Cool. The wait till August is going to be a little tough, but I'll make it. Here's hoping that we get some pictures of what Sideswipe will look like at Botcon. I'm also hoping for a Red Alert repaint/remold, but I'm not going to hold my breath for it, and I could always just kitbash it if they don't make one.

Well, the likelyhood is good because the design team said that one of the things they were looking at with this line is designs that could easily be used for multiple characters ...hence Sunstreaker & Prowl in the first wave... (though the rest I've no idea who they'd retool them too... Octane, Galvatron, Powerglide & Onslaught? Huh?)

Looks nice enough (though the toy itself still doesn't overly excite me). Glad we'll be getting these in the UK at some point, just a shame that the nearest Toys'R'Us is 35 miles away :/

I'm definately collecting the whole wave of Universe. Sunstreaker looks GREAT. I can see them remolding him into Runamuck and Runabout. Prowl is obvious who'd he be repainted/ remolded into. Like Laser Optimus said, I really don't know who'd they repaint the rest into.

they should be out in a couple of months anyway, I wouldnt pay silly money for it, looks nice though, good find Transfan2

I hope somebody from this forum buys this figure and takes a photo of it next to G1 Sunstreaker and G1 Sideswipe. I want to see how this figure will fit with G1 figures.

Yeah, you have a point there. I wouldn't even mind if they made him a Target exclusive in a 2-pack, though I'm not sure who the other could/would be. The cool thing about this mold, is that it already has two holes in the roofe that they could easily, imo, attach a light-bar to. There is one repaint/remold that I would like to see from this mold, but it's one I don't think they'll do, as this character is more likely to get his own mold if they update him. That would be Wheeljack, and I'm thinking about buying an extra Sunstreaker when they come out and kitbashing him. The head would need some remolding, but that's the only mold difference I would do.

Looks great, but I can wait until Fall. This is one of the same people that have been selling Botcon '08 items. They must not have any security at their factories over there.

Y'know, if there was a line where I'd go bid-crazy so I could get it ASAP, Classics would probably be it.

Huh, the gun doesn't store in alt mode. - points Hasbro but otherwise very nice. I'm looking forward to Sideswipe more but mostly just os I'm a sucker for red.

What's with that card art? The bots with mouths have a sort of Dreamwave-like "dull surprise" slack-jawed look to them.

Don't think they can get anymore Sunstreaker looking unless they... paint his side rear fenders red or something.

Galvatron - Megazarak (Armada Galvatron was repainted into OTFCC Megazarak)
Powerglide - Bad Boy (G1 Powerglide was repainted into e-hobby Bad Boy)
Onslaught - Cybertron Defense Red Alert (Cybertron Legends Red Alert was repainted into Universe '08 Onslaught)

Its not that hard to think of possible repaints. Likely repaints is something else though.

Hmm... yeah, but I seriously doubt any of those characters will be released in Classics 2.0... you know... they're not really Classics...

I'm actually really wondering how his gun is going to be stored in car mode (Prowl's too). I'm thinking part of the engine (Alternator style) but on Sunstreaker his engine is on the back end of the car, exposed, and becomes a backpack in bot mode. I can't see where the gun would be part of it (unless it's a part that is actually inside the car??) plus we've seen pics of him with both the gun and the engine in bot mode. Hmmm... this is one of those reason I want somebody to put up a review- I can't wait till fall not knowing these things!

On the topic of Sunstreaker and Prowls guns, I personally think that they are accesories that really don't have a place in alt-mode. If you look closely at the in-package pictures of both figures, you can see that their guns are seperate from the bots themselves (though this doesn't always mean that the accesories don't attach somewhere in alt-mode). Looking at the origional concept art, the origional idea for Sunstreakers weapons was for them to come from his back-pack, but it doesn't look like that gimmick made it to the production version. Similar situation with Prowl's gun. The origional prototype pictures showed us a gun that appeared to be able to fold up, and possibly store somewhere in alt-mode, but the gun that we've seen with him since those photos looks different, and doesn't appear to be able to fold up. While it would be nice for their weapons to store in alt-mode, it doesn't bother me much at all, as I'll have both of these figures posed in bot-mode, and holding their guns, when I display them.

Edit: As for the potential Takara versions of these, I'll be sticking with Hasbros versions. IMO, the Takara versions of the Classics 1.0 toys aren't an improvement, and some even look worse. Especially with the randome use of chrome on the figures.

Yeah. What, is this the wrong shade of yellow for Sunstreaker and TakaraTomy will use the right yellow,thus making the toy superior? I think the toy is the ideal representation of the G1 character as is.
If they change anything at all, they'll chrome his engine. Bank on it.

Waiting on the Henkei version of Powerglide, on the other hand, I can totally relate to.

A real shame I think, I loved those transforming air intakes, even if they did wind up being a bit beefy that would have still been very cool.

I'm really having difficulty waiting for this line. (I loved the movie, but I just can't love the movie's toy line for some reason.) I bought the entire commercially available line of Classics, and I will most likely be doing the same with this Universe/Classics 2.0 line.

Sunstreaker...I have some issues with the mold, but I'm about to slobber all over myself to add Prowl to my Classics shelf.

Too bad Botcon '07 wrecked my chances of getting Thundercracker. I can't afford the eBay prices...
