Possible Universe 25th Anniversary Shockwave

I agree. I don't have Energon Shockblast, but I personaly don't like what that toy looked like, so unless this thing is relatively close to G1 Shocky in colors, I'll pass and look up Alt. Shockblast, who in a pinch works for classics (and I like Alts, anyways.)

I will have to pass on this one. It was ok for the original line I think cybertron maybe, but not the Universe line. Thats just being lazy. Come on what ever happened to retooling the originals? Where did all the creativity go? I will pass on this one cause to me its not Shockwave and it will be too expensive.

I don't think Hasbro has the rights to the mold anymore. Besides, they gave us G1 Prime, again, and I think he's STILL shelfwarming in places.

I need one to put in my clssics collection! Man, I was hoping for a re-release for a while!

I passed on originally and passed on a good BIN auction about a month ago. I'd definitely like to add this guy to my classics collection assuming that he's a better than passing representation of Shockwave.

Like what everybody else has said, he needs to be a g1 deco to be worthwhile...

I already use Energon Shockblast as my Classics Shockwave, he fits in well and he's a great figure, though his left arm is kind of unfortunate. If he was given new arms, then he essentially wouldnt transform anymore, but it'd improve his robot mode a great deal, and thats honestly all I care about. The original's colors are good enough for me, so if this one isnt drastically different, I'd skip it.

Cool but I am working on 2 Shockwave kitbashes right now getting rid of that stupid big gun arm.

I'll get 2. One to open and one misb.

I hope this comes out. I've been looking for the energon one to put with my Classics but ebay prices are high. If hope they at least replace the darkgreen canon with purple and the translucent green with trans-purple like this:

I like this mold. I like the satellite alt mode and I would even like the big clunky arm, if it only had a joint in it.

However, this looks pretty much identical to the original release, which is pretty weak if you ask me. They totally could have gone for a better G1-style deco if they took this route.

Whaaaaaa?? Swoop is actually pretty awesome.. decent in both modes, and has a really cool face sculpt. He only lacks hands. "Kid Grimlock" is the turd in that pair. He's like a giant, articulated Robot Heroes figure, which might be cool in it's way, but it's hardly worthy as a regular Grimlock.

I like that headsculpt. More elongated than G1 Shockwave, but still pretty good.

I was actually expecting Hasbro to have already released 3 out of those 4 (Scorponok, Omega Supreme, and Shockwave) into Universe/Classics 2.0 by now. And from what it looks like, they might all be headed into that direction.

My God. If Hasbro ever released a Scorponok repaint of Scorponok that looked like that, I would personally buy twenty.

And that Shockblast at the thread start doesn't look like it has any changes from the original release to my eyes. The view from above makes the gun arm/cannon look like it's actually the main body,though. Maybe that, in addition to those gold accents on the cannon, are making it appear to have a newish deco?

yeah, that's what i was sayin': i love the headsculpt, but also think it's the only good thing about the mold. The torso's ok too, but both arms and the barely-there alt modes suck imho.

Hasbro, pay attention. These are repaints people want...

That is great but I think it would better if it was a darker purple (like Alt. Shockwave) Including the light colored portion of his chest.

seems odd to rerelease Shockblast with no apparent deco changes, unless it's some kind of exclusive multi-pack like S250 speculated.

Oh, I'll give ya Swoop and Mega Dinobot, but Energon Grimlock is better than Classics Grimlock, Alternator Grimlock, and all the people on this board that bad-mouth him combined.

Maybe FansProject will release their own Shockwave figure.

I was thinking the exact same thing. A FansProject Shockwave (or even some sort of kit to mod the arm) would totally be a dream come true. I'm totally on the fence about this figure. I really kind of hate the giant gun arm, but if this is the only Shockwave representation that we will get for the Classics/Universe line, then it kind of becomes a must buy.

This might be a buy for me, I loved the Shockblast from Energon, but I was only able to find his brother Six Shot. I liked the purple better =D

thats great news. ive been looking on ebay for shockblast, but couldnt afford the price it was being sold at. sure i would like for hasbro to come up with a new mold, but with a quick trip to the paint store, i can make this toy fit in with my classics.

How much does he sell for now? I got mine MISB for $30 shipped back in Spring 2008.

Unless he's repainted with a G1 paint scheme, and has a smaller more articulated laser arm, my Super Link Shockblast serves his purpose.

I wish they would use the unproduced Titanium molds that we saw at Botcon '07. Even though he'd be a six incher, that Shockwave was sweet .... in addition to Cosmos, Arcee, and Cybertron Bumblebee that were also there.

I was looking foward to a brand new mold for a Classics/Universe Shockwave release but since I don't own the Energon Shockblast I will definetly purchase this. Although a more G1-esq color scheme would be more appealing.
