I hope this is indeed a re-issue for Shockblast, I absolutely love that mold and never owned it. It'd be more awesome, of course, if they slap the name Shockwave on the box.

Me too. The only thing I hated about him was the fact that his gun arm was so stiff and huge. I half expected it to detach and be a desk phone or a walkie talkie.

Heh....I've been using Energon Shockblast as a Classics Shockwave as well. And to tell you the truth, I'm really surprised it has taken this long for this mold to be put in along with Classics. As much as I also would like a new figure, I knew this would be the one they would use.
But I really hope they change their minds on the coloring.....now would be the time to be heavy handed with purple and gray/silver.

Yea, no kidding. If they are going to re-release a mold for the universe line, atleast give it more accurate G1 colors. (I'm looking at you Unicron).

Hmm. Interesting. I'll probably pick this guy up if I see him as I had the figure before he got busted up in a move and I really liked him (not as Shockwave mind you, but Shockblast... who had a very different personality).

If he's indeed getting re-released, then I think I need to pick him up. I don't have my Energon Shocky anymore, and he was one of my favourite toys in the line. Sure, not the greatest of alt-modes, but function-over-form seemed to fit his character anyways, and what's not to love about an orbital death ray?
And his 'bot mode was total badass, unposeable doom cannon aside. Looks especially ace with all the solar panels deployed (reverse his legs like Alternators Jazz so that the panels wind up on the outsides of his shins), like he's charging his cannon for some really big hurt.

If it's true then that is great news for folks who missed out on him. He and Galvatron are the only figures I never sold from Energon. It would be sweet if they gave him a G1 deco.

I could see this being a store exclusive during movie-line time, but i'd be almost GLAD if they didn't go the G1 route with the deco, i don't want it to be our only chance at a Classics Shockwave, and aside from the headsculpt this mold is pretty terrible...

I smell fluke... I doubt we'd get an Energon reissue, and if the mold was going to get reused as Shockwave it'd be closer to the original color scheme without the blue and overuse of the grey.

Not sure how I feel about this one. I already own both E.Shockblast and Sixshot, so I'm not really keen on picking up a 3rd version. Especially if he's just a straight re-issue.
If he gets a G1 Shockwave deco, then I might reconsider as I liked the mold overall. A remold of the gun arm would be nice, tho.

I've tried to like the mold, but I honestly think it's total crap.
First, making Springer -a triple-changer- into a single-mode helicopter re-paint, then that gawd-awful Leo Breaker mold being re-painted, then pushing this on us saying it's Shockwave?
No thanks. If this trend continues, I'm staying away from the Universe line from now on.

Great find! I personally think E. Shockblast is a great figure in my classics display. I don't really think it would be worth to do a whole new figure that turns into some futuristic looking gun. Sure this mold could use a better gun-arm but It's not that big of a deal. I just hope he's released single-packed and in the same colors as the one I have so I'm not tempted to buy another
