I'm going to pass on these repaints.

Hasbro said that we'll be getting new Voyager-class Universe molds in '09, though.
Tim Formas:
Higher-res pictures now uploaded too. See Blaster in screen-filling size butz: Quote:

But, I kinda doubt it.
DieMaus:
It doesn't matter how many times I see it, I just don't think I'm ever going to get over how unforgivably lazy and rubbish this Blaster is. Could they not have even resculpted the head, for crying out loud? As it is, there isn't a damn thing about this toy that says "Blaster" other than the red coloration, and frankly, that's just not enough...
lars573:
Just pretend it's Cybertronian mode Blaster. Quote:

LightningZERO:
I guess I'm gonna pass. I've always want a Cybertron Soundwave mold but this red looks too weird
Dr Wheeljack:
I missed finding Cybertron Soundwave in my area i am tempted to buy
Blaster for the mold.

Am I the only one digging Blaster? I plan to buy him ASAP.
Heavy Load, however... bleh.
Red leader:
I appreciate most things hasbro release but these are 2 of the gheyest, ugliest repaints they have ever set free, whoever thought they were a good idea should be sacked! Blaster is one of the most popular figs and characters in the TF universe yet they refuse to furnish us with a toy doubtless because tape decks are outdated and todays brats wouldnt know what they are, rant over Locustreign: Quote:

But yeah I agree he deserves a proper new mould. MP3 player or stereo system or anything. Not a bloody spaceship though!
Darkscreamer785:
Who the heck made Blaster a freak'n repaint ,I mean, whats up with that HE'S BLASTER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. I'll probably buy them both anyways.
Draven:
I might get Heavy Load; I missed out on the mould the first time round. Blaster, however? Huge pass. He looks awful IMO.

Not impressed with it but I do own the Soundwave version. It's not worth it to buy another. Not one of my favs overall.

Heavy Load, however... bleh. | I'm with you dude! Plus, he's got a NEW minion. I think that's awesome.
I do wish he had a different head. But oh well! Maybe we'll get a ML Blaster one day

Ramrider:
I'm definitely tempted by Blaster, even if he is a redeco of Soundwave (who I love). I'm tempted to sculpt him a new head, repaint Blockrock as Laserbeak (and Laserbeak as Buzzsaw) and try to design new podbots, like Freestyle's Steeljaw...
Feralstorm:
I smell the stench of shelf-warmer on Heavy Load, especially when he's shipping in three waves in a row. He's gonna Mudflap his way all up and down the stores this fall. Stormcrow:
Ugh. What a couple of turds.
Velcrohead:
I'm with everyone who's not loving Blaster at this point. I just hope that once I see it in person, I will warm up to it.
DieMaus:
Jarodimus: Maybe I should have been clearer: my point was that, red body aside, nothing has been done to make this look like Blaster as opposed to Soundwave. OK, they always looked broadly similar, but they should look at least a BIT different; this Blaster IS just Soundwave, right down to the evil-looking and instantly recognisable face. And that's just plain laziness. Noisemaze:
It all depends on your point of view.
As Blaster from the Cybertron line =works
As a G1 Classic update =doesn't work Fosterlager:
I'd get Blaster if he had a head remold.
shroobmaster:
I'd get Blaster if the G1 toy wasn't fun, seriously he's pretty much the only G1 mold I still play with.

I love the Blaster, especially the little touches like coloring the shin details grey/black like the speakers on the G1 legs.
Autovolt 127:
I'l get him becuase
1.I like blaster
2. I like Cybertron soundwave.

As G1 Blaster = hell no
As Shattered Glass Soundwave = yes please
But I won't harp on it, I already started a whole thread on that a while back in Toyark.
As for Heavy Load.... that vaguely scatological name and bland paintjob aren't going to help with his predicted shelfwarmer status.

omega ranger:
This Blaster to me actually fits. Blaster was like a direct counter-attack on Soundwave, like his twin- made specifically to counter his powers. Plus Blockrock is like Sundor. Awesome. And the Soundwave mold was awesome. It also fits as a SG Soundwave too. Yay.
Heavy Load is also win. Construction Decepticons are cool, can never have too many of those. Plus, I don't have his mold. The colors aren't all that bad.
SPLIT LIP:
Normally, I'd say "sure, I'll get these. I don't have these moulds anyway." but not today.

After about 5 weeks of work I'll be able to buy anything that's so far been officially announced.
Renidragon:
I'd be interested in Blaster, but only if I know he fits together in spaceship mode better than my old Cybertron Soundwave. Had to transform him improperly to get a better fit, and even then, then fit wasn't too good. If that's fixxed, then I'd pick him up, but he'll hang out with my Cybertron guys, most likely, rather than Classics. Unless, of course, I start picking up more non-Classics-Universe stuff (the only Universe figures I own and have ever owned are two Spychangers and a repackaged Cybertron Brushguard).
I must be the only one interested in Heavy Load. I wanted Cybertron Quickmix, but whenever I saw him, I didn't have the money... now that I can afford to get voyager and ultra sized figures on a more regular basis, he's looooooong gone. I kinda like the colors, too.

Mine fits together pretty well - the only trouble I occasionally have is getting the legs to lock into the wing base...
Rumble02:
ima have to pass on these.
Enigma2K2:
That thing looked stupid when they called it Soundwave...
Abrogate:
I'm actually one of the few people who wants to get both of these. But these are gonna be in 3 waves? Boy, they were just flat out conceived to shelfwarm huh?

This toy is win all over for me. Not to sound to sound the least bit hypocritical, but I'll be able to give this toy a different head, and give Alternators Soundblaster proper the light piping (translucent red>red painted over translucent purple).
Deonasis:
Slap a different head on Blaster and he would look 10 ..umm make that 5 times better. As for Heavyload, currently he is a rare, unexciting purchase.
General Magnus:
I´m a sucker for faction changing repaints Ktulu:
A new head and the chest painted the same as the card art would've gone a long way for Blaster, but alas

still not digging either one of these. pass.
Johnator:
I am going to pass on this one. Nothing really Blaster about it at all.

Plus there's other, better Voyager class molds out there they could've tapped. Hell, some they've yet to even reuse, like CD Scattorshot. I'd buy that mold again in a heartbeat over a Cyb Soundwave repaint. Would make a great Warpath.
Already have Cyb Soundwave and GF Soundblaster, so I've got my fill of that mold. Heavy Load is just a mediocre repaint of an already mediocre toy. Easy pass on both.
Bass X0:
No. C.D. Scattorshot is being repainted into Decepticon Drop Shot.
And other than a Japanese limited exclusive, the Soundwave toy hasn't been repainted yet making him equal to Scattorshot in number of repaints actually released in the U.S. so far.
Besides, new heads cost money. Sometimes they can give repaints a new head but usually they can't/won't. Repaints are released to make Hasbro more money. Repainting an existing toy is far cheaper than to create a brand new toy in the same size class/price range.
Backscatter:
Plan to get both this version of Blaster and Heavy Load. Wish Blaster had gotten a new head though.
