I'm not convinced that Ironhide has been transformed properly either.

I'm not sure if Ironhide looks better or worse.

Siddeswipe, thank god we don't have to rely on Hasbro's photos to base our purchasing decisions on.

Oh wow... Ironhide's definitely got an issue or two, but Sideswipe's really just pathetic... someone in the really big Hasbro building had to see that photo and ask wtf they were thinking... they cannot actually leave that as the default photo...

Ironhide nooo! you've been mistransformed, (so has sideswipe, but at least he has the proper head on) not surprised but he definitley looks shittier. I hope the gun/hand thing is wrong cuz if his hand just folds back for the gun mode, that's just horrific looking

Not just that... but Sideswipe has a SHOULDER CANNON in his boxart.

My guess is that based on how his handgun is painted, it's supposed to go in the hole to the left of his head.

Ironhide looks pretty nice. That mistransformed Sideswipe is pretty funny though.

Yeah - Ironhide is awesome. I'm just glad that the unique Canadian boxart is supposed to be coming back after Galvatron's wave, if memory serves.

Sideswipe's stock photo is priceless.

Ironhide looks pretty good in bot mode, but his alt mode looks like he was in a high speed collision. Way too many moving parts on the side of the truck.

Ignoring the laughably mis-transformed Sideswipe, my thoughts on the figs:

IH looks better here, ignoring the mis-transformed waist. He lines up way better than I thought and re-assures my faith that the Ratchet remould will be good if not great. The two-toned glass still really bothers me, but I can overlook it. But holy crap, his card art has an actual EXPRESSION!?

Sideswipe is great. He's a red 'Streaker with a new head, so it's not surprising he's awesome. The little black stripes are a nice bit of extra detail to set them apart.

Bluestreak looks great. I will need to mod him like I did Prowl but he looks fine for now. Those maroon/purple hubcaps are ultimate fail, though.

Besides the horrid mistransformations, these look great.

Ironhide = also awesome, considered he's mistransformed.

Sideswi-HOLY SHIT!....my god, Hasbro. You'd think his fists being backwards in "robot" mode, his shoulders being super low and his feet leaning outward would indicate a mistransformation!

Combine the engine with the gun, toss it on the shoulder and voila! Flare Launcher. It's a trick they ignore in the Sunstreaker instructions because it was meant to make Sideswipe look different.

Sideswipe is a definate buy, despite his horrendously bad stock photo, silverstreak is an easy pass because I have prowl and don't need two molds with one transformation (all repaints should be like the Twins!) and Ironhide....well he's still up in the air. I'll have to wait until people who actually know what they're doing get a hold of him to make my decision.

Dear god, they tried to transform Sideswipe like Sunstreaker... and failed at that, too.

The idea of a toy with two different possible robot modes is obviously too much for Hasbro photo staff.

Also, kudos to the artist of Ironhide's box art for giving him an actual expression.

The gun is already painted and sculpted to look like his flare cannon, 9well, a mix of his flare gun and Streaker's handgun) the engine isn't supposed to clip. If it was it would hold better than that. (it always falls off on mine)

The Engine is supposed to be like his Jetpack from MTMTE.

You mean, at least he has a head.

Seriously, this is ridiculous. Anyone listening at Hasbro? It's not that hard! If you have to, bring in a kid for some focus group testing, and then let him transform them for the pics.

That's what I've thought since the beginning. I was hoping that the final paint job would make it less noticeable. But no.

I think Silverstreak and Ironhide look great!! I'm a little dissapointed in Sideswipe though. I dunno, I guess he would look a little better and not so much like a repaint. I just wish when Hasbro says that he would transform differently then his brother, he actually would. I'll still buy them all but a little dissapointed none the less.

He does transform different, that photo's just (clearly) mis transformed. He has the car front as the chest, hell, he even has the fists swapped. 'Streaker's back becomes his chest and vice-versa with his chest. In fact, the only thing they share are the legs.

Ironhide still looks like a jigsaw on wheels in van mode but his bot mode IS worth buying this figure for so I'll be getting him, and Sideswipe, and maybe even Silverstreak. I have to overcome my hatred of straight repaints first.

Can't wait for Ironhide, and Silverstreak and Sideswipe look mighty nice too.

Ironhide's packing a double chin there. He looks more now like Chris Penn than ever.
Also, he's definitely transformed wrong. He's more squat than the photo makes him look.

Oops, read it wrong, I thought he was talking about Ironhide there. That makes more sense, I don't know why Ironhide wouldn't have the proper head in the first place

I demand somebody kitbash Sideswipe into Armadaswipe using that transformation.

I especially like how they did the shoulders without any screws so they could use the reverse side to further differentiate the two.

Back when SWTFs first came out my friend was working for a small company that was contracted by Hasbro to deal with promotional material. If these photos aren't taken in-house by Hasbro, it's not surprising that things get botched.

If they ARE done by Hasbro, though, I still can't say I'd be too surprised.
