DISCUSSION: (Jump To This Thread On The Boards)
Sso02V:
They mention that they used the Evac mold for Springer, because his Botcon 07 figure already had the ground vehicle aspect of the original character covered.

Also that Rabat apparently uses Sideways' flipping faction symbol to display both Decepticon and Ultracon symbols.
UTK007:
Ratbat is truely awesome.
Optimus747:
These sets ROCK!
Ever since I saw Dirge in that form in some comic book (can't remember which one) I wanted a Cyb. Starscream redecoed as Dirge; even to the point of considering paying someone to do a custom for me. I never thought they'd end up making a retail version of it!
And Ratbat is great too, that mold is absolutely perfect for him. Roadbuster and Springer are good as well, I can't wait until these show up in stores.
Laser_Optimus:
Glad they replaced the Autobot symbol on Sideways with an Ultracon symbol from the War Within II. I was thinking about that one last night at work... though it would be weird for Ratbat to be able to change factions, but it looks like they worked it out.
saberconvoy:
Man that going to be great. I will have to hurry to my target because there would be a small window to get them.
Thundershot:
Um.... these guys ARE Classics, right?
Fort Max:
Wow, Hasbro have really been doing good work with that site post botcon.

There's only figure here I was even interested in and fortunetly for me it looks freaking awesome. Springer, he's spot on and in both modes no less.
I don't particulary want another noisemaze but it looks like I'll be getting one anyway.
Grimlock_13:
Definitely picking these guys up. Mainly for Dirge and Ratbat, but the Autobot molds in the sets aren't bad. Ratbat is the gem there though. Brilliant.
Big_Truk_Convoy:
Has anyone seen this yet? Universe/ Classics Pictures : http://www.hasbro.com/transformers/u...85BE693F87CFDD

Sideswipe doesnt have a remolded head

Iron hide looks awesome!

Don't belive everything you see, Sideswipe WILL have a new head, when it's finished and on shelves.
Silent_Magnus:
Ratbat is the most interesting to me,
and Springer looks better then he did at botcon.

Still I want a new mold triple changing Springer eventually.
artiepants:
I really hope roadbuster ends up with black tiress as seen there ~ the botcon pics had him with green(iirc) tires.

awesome set of exclusives, and that'll work for classics Dirge for me. he'll mock Ramjet for his shortness.
shibamura_prime:
Sah-weet. More Springer love! Sold.

They showed the figure off at Botcon and the actual toy had a remolded head. No worries.
Ravenxl7:
Actually, these don't look all that bad. Especially Roadbuster, who's display model at Botcon didn't look all that good (was most likely an early prototype of the colors). I might actually get one or both of these sets now. I've never owned any one of these four molds, so that's one thing in their favor. I'll have to think about it for a while before I add either set to my to-get list though.
onesock:
Springer will make an excellent Classics Springer, for sure.
Locke:
Both of these sets are great, with the Roadbuster/Dirge slightly better than Springer/Ratbat.

I think in my universe, Toys R Us Wingblade will be by Springer (Swords FTW), and I'll use this Springer as Whirl. That will give me a nice start on a set of neo-Wreckers all having realistic military alt modes and a relatively consistent color scheme.
Soundblaster1:
Let me look into my crystal ball...

Fall 2008 will make SB1 broker than shit.
Nightrain:
I'm not buying these, but they do look nice. I could've been convinced to buy Roadbuster as a single.
ORIO:
What's the ultracon symbol look like??

I'm not digging springer cuz I like my botcon version better. That mold should've been whirl imo. Plus I already have Evac and will be getting Blades.

And I liked roadbuster at botcon better. Don't know why.
Silent_Magnus:
MegaMoonMan:
I like the Dirge set, but the Ratbat set is a definite pass. I'm really getting tired of different molds getting passed off as Springer.

He's a triple changer, remember?
butz:
I would've preferred Whirl, to go along with Roadbuster (who looks AMAZING here), but as a stand in for Springer, I guess he's not too bad. Just, I'll be kinda pissed if this and "Blades" keep us from getting a Whirl figure.
SmokescreenGT:
I'll be getting both sets. Roadbuster, Ratbat and Dirge are all awesome. Springer's okay, but not great IMO. Those comics are a nice addition. I'm gonna need a second job to pay for all these new TFs.
razorchrist:
Call me when Springer becomes a triple-changer again.

I agree with the comments that the copter should have been Whirl to go with Roadbuster. Now *that* would have been an unexpected homage update no one would see coming.
Sso02V:
But Whirl is supposed to be a heavily armed gunship, not a rescue chopper.
Dinobot Nuva:
That didn't stop Hasbro from doing a Legends repaint of the LOC Evac figure, now if they'd just do it full scale it'd make a lot of happy campers =P
DN
Sso02V:
But Legends is a different thing all together. They can just paint anybody they want like anybody they want, and it'll look fine, 'cause they're so tiny, what would you expect? They could paint Legends Cyb. Starscream yellow and call him Bumblebee and people would be ok with it.
Lumpy:
i too prefer the botcon color scheme...and i plan on buying both sets, but selling springer for sure...i'm getting botcon springer so thats definately the one i want, though i really want a triple changer autbot, and you figure he would be easier since his two alts modes were so bloody similiar...

now if springer had been whirl, and he had been packed with roadbuster, that'd been a must have...too bad those two didnt get new heads to go with their paintjobs...

I was about to ask for a show of hands of whom else will be broke for the next 1 1/2 years!

I'd love bigger versions of those new legends repaints of Razorclaw and Hung-grr too!
Noisemaze:
Out of all the new toys we saw this weekend Ratbat is #1 on my "must have" list. I'm nuts over the Noisemaze mold anyway & that is just beyond awesome. I was blown away the second I saw him. I want 2 or 3 of him (Planet-X armada) but I don't want 2 or 3 Springers.

I've been dying for a CD Scattorshot repaint & a Noisemaze repaint. The Scattorshot repaint totally sucks, I'm majorly disappointed with that one but they hit the freakin bullseye with Ratbat. Now bring on a Thunderblast repaint!!!

I concur completely, the Deceps just do so much more for me. It's nice to see a newly released dirge that isn't limited to 1500 pieces.
As for Ratbat, he is just love.
B-Fox:
REALLY like Ratbat, but I'm a little indifferent to Springer here. Already have the BotCon version and the lack of yellow on the nosecone doesn't say "Springer" enough to me like it did on Energon Bulkhead. I can pass up that Roadbuster/Dirge set because Roadbuster with a face is just wrong.

When do these come out, btw?

When BC pics first showed up, I thought Ratbat and Dirge were made of win, the other two not so much. But with the above in mind, I'm liking Springer a little more; he'll look good displayed side-by-side with the BC version. Roadbuster looks better now than the initial Hasbro BC display pics, too. Ratbat is still the best of the bunch w/Dirge close behind, but I'm not gonna get rid of the other two or anything.
Ceasar121:
Eh Springer kinda disappoints me. Guess Energon Bulkhead will continue to be my classics Springer.
Ratbat I gotta have tho. Loved the mold and never got one of my own...

lol That's what I've been saying about Bumblebee for years. But all the "cartoon accurate" people probably hate me for it.

I think these colors work a lot better for the CD Hot Shot mold than the green Botcon version. (I just have something against green TF's, I hate all green TF's except the original G1 Springer.)
Bumble Prime:
hmmmm what to do with my kitbashed energon bulkhead.........

and roadbuster needs a head swap once i get him......have to dig out the a/e/c extras

They did that, he was called Sunstorm, I still demand a Voyager version >.>

shroobmaster:
Finally I'll have the Sideways mold! And with rockin' colors!
MagnusPrimal:
These make me

And

I can't wait to get these!
SarahMobius:
Springer and ratbat = SOLD
Ktulu:
Agreein that Whirl would have been nicer than Springer here, but hey, I'll grab em anyway. The Ultracon symbol thing on Ratbatways will be sweet
Mr.Roboto:
Damn, those figures look horrible!! Glad Hasbro is making less cool figures or else I would be poor by now.

Oh well, I can't wait until the Classic figures come out.
Grimwing:
A voyager a deluxe and a comic for $20? (botcon plaque msrp $19.99)
That's a steal! also now we can see dirge and springer without little red x's on their face.

more comics pack ins! please!

Like how batlike the cyb sideways mold turned out as a vehicle.
All the sets are wonderful. Universe shall rule my wallet.
Jeremy.B:
Look great, definite buy, and now I have to get a Botcon Springer to go with this one!

Even though they are using the evac mold twice for classics, the mold is so cool and the colors so different and unique I really don't mind.

Now only if we could get the CD Red Alert repainted into another figure that DOESN'T cost $400+!

QFT, because that would be the balls!
nkelsch:
That Road buster makes up for the lack of the OTFCC road buster, Though he could have used a new head.

All 4 of these look like worthy additions to Classics.
Kupp:
springer and Ratbat, I am sold on that, That ratbat is just awesome. I'll likely buy the other set too, but Springer and Ratbat is on the top of my list.
