octane looks better than before
General Tekno:
Nice... but UGH. That plastic does not photograph well.
Locke:
I liked Blurr before, but I think I like the look of the mechanical eye better.
I realize that these are talking robots that are not meant to be completely taken seriously, but I've never really been able to wrap my head around a robot having a permanent deformity.
Dinobot Nuva:
Cue people saying "wow those look like crap, wtf happened?!" even though the pictures have most of them obviously mistransformed.
DN
Peaugh:
Nuts. I was hoping to have Prowl and Sunstreaker in hand before more pics starting showing up online. Oh well. They look like they'll be pretty cool properly transformed.
netkid:
Those pictures need to be bigger, but so far so good! (referring to Classics 2.0 & Club Nightbeat). FREEFALL:
Damn I can't wait for those classics and Nightbeat!
BustaJesse:
2.0 hits in August right?

Takeshi357:
Someone mirror these images, the page loads forever (if at all).
Acid Wing:
Still cool, even though pics are mistransformed.

DN | Nope. I also don't get the excitement over this one. Did everyone forget what kind of crappy mold E-Hotshot is? :/
Takeshi357:
Sooo...which one of those are the 'con exclusives again?
Definitely getting the new molds (especially Prowl; I take his doors DO swing down to a more G1-accurate look?), though the Nightbeat looks pretty nifty too (I only wish he had a new head sculpt).

and RA88, that mold might not be the best, but its a great mold for nightbeat...i think he looks completely awesome, and cant wait to add him to my classics...
Icespark:
Jazz, Riccochet, and Blurr are the Botcon exclusives, Nightbeat is a Club exclusive, and the others are from Classics 2.0. I'm looking forward to all of them!
The more I see of Blurr, the more I like him. I'm normally not as quick to purchase toys of crooks as I am of the good guys, but I really love the lightning paint job the Blurr has. I can't wait to see Sideswipe and Megatron! Soundblaster1: Quote:

Sunstreaker went from yay to meh. At first I thought it was a Cybertron Crosswise remold (heavily remolded, of course) and the head is kinda fugly. Prowl looks pretty good. Tankor/Octane looks like the best of the bunch, no question there.
Not commenting on the Botcon/club stuff 'cause I don't really care.
Icespark:
Based on other photos I've seen, I think Sunstreaker will come out nicely in the end. Although, he seem to need a good photographer the most. I still can't wait to put him and Sideswipe on display!
Edit-- Could anyone tell me what the small picture of the scales next to my online status is for? I don't think I've ever seen it there before.

Glitcher:
Hmm... I wonder if Octane's shoulders are supposed to be up and away from his torso like that. And I still have no idea what kind of weapon he's holding in his left hand. The harvester of doom?
Feralstorm:
I keep wondering how many people are new here or something (actually seeing more in the comments on Seibertron in this case) , because there's always the "these look like crap! Theye looked great before!" comments, because they are mistransformed and/or poorly photographed, as well as a plastic final instead of a painted all-over prototype with Photoshop touch-ups. It happens every every EVERY time new toys come down the picture pipeline - you'd think more people would get with the program by now. There can't be that much of a constant stream of newbies who don't know the deal.
Back to subject, There seems to be a distinct style to the FunPub/Botcon exclusive head sculpts this year. There appears to be more lines and detail to the facial area, as opposed to the more squared-off faces seen in the average Energon-thru-Classics robot head. It's as if there's a strong Wildman comic art influence in the headsculpts for Jazz, Blurr, and Nightbeat this time around. (presumably Megatron too, if he get's a new head too as we've heard.)
Grimlock_13:
I don't get all the love for Nightbeat either. I agree the paint job is cool, but the mold is horrible...a gold plated piece of poo is still a piece of poo.
Those Classics can't be released soon enough. I need them. Now. Yes, need. They have replaced oxygen in my system since I breathe in their awesomeness.

The Classics 2.0 figures look alot better than before, especially Prowl. Botcon Jazz and Classics Nightbeat look fantastic aswell.
grayman:
Excellent pics. Thanks for the link. I'll definitely take one of each please.
mineraljane:
Sunstreaker and Prowl still look great. I cannot wait.
Octane's wings kill me though. Those angles are not kind to his plane mode (although I don't know if any would be).
grock35:
there is already a post like this...and yea i'm really digging nightbeat as well
Laser_Optimus:
Looks awesome! Thundercrackah:
Definitely won't be touching Octane, just like I didn't bother with Astrotrain.
Prowl and Streaker are sweet though.
Soundwarp:
Man i can't wait for these new classics!!!!!!!!

I don't see the problem in pointing that out. However, I am assuming, (hoping) that these are just mock ups thrown together for a quick test shot. Sunstreaker doesn't even have his roof piece in these pics. I'm also really, REALLY hoping Hasbro resists their never ending urge to take the cheapskate route and give these figures proper translucent windows. Having them use the crappy opaque shown here will really hurt the look of these figures big time, IMO. Compare the Machine Wars jets with those released in RID and you will know what I mean.

God I want those Classics NOW!! I will definitely be buying them all and probably two of each for display and opening! I hate waiting for these. Sol Fury: Quote:

I'm really hoping the June release date for the UK on these guys is accurate, I can happily wait a couple of months. And hey, Animated will be along in the meantime so there'll be something fresh and new to play about with.
MACRAPTRON:
I was going to complain about all the toys being mistransformed, but then I remembered that even Hasbro doesn't know how to transform their own toys properly.
Great pictures.
Icespark:
Sol Fury, thank you again for posting this on the main page!
I'm really looking forward to all of these. I wonder what Botcon Sideswipe and Megatron will look like.
While I kind of agree about the photography on these, I'm grateful that we get a chance to see them before they arrive in stores. It makes budget planning very easy!
I hope we get to see more soon! Mirage232: Quote:

Prowl on the Hasbro site, however, does have the dark tinted clear windows. It looks like they are going to screw Octane though, as every colored version I have seen so far is with the opaque windows, which sucks because it looked like Octane had molded seats in his grey prototype. I am remaining hopeful for Prowl and Sunstreaker though.
Fosterlager:
Shame about Nightbeat's antennae, that ruins the toy for me. No sale.

I realize that these are talking robots that are not meant to be completely taken seriously, but I've never really been able to wrap my head around a robot having a permanent deformity. | Because if Ratchet's as grumpy as he was in the original universe, either he did it or would take pleasure out of the pain he'd inflict.
Also Prowl and sunstreaker appear mistransformed in their robot modes. Quote:

Dinobot Nuva:
Solid windows=good. Otherwise we end up with translucent paint being painted over that just looks stupid. Several of the movie figures suffer from that aspect.

These look like crap compared to the animated toys.
Boy who screams:
Wow. I'm really digging Octane. He's one of my favourite Decepticons.
I can't wait till he reaches Australia.
The other ones are alright, but i find most "Car Transformers" pretty meh...

Some simply leave the damage to remind them of the one who hurt them, others because they think it looks cool (after all, some people think scars are badass, it's the same thing for them I guess).
Cybertron Red Alert has a good bit of info in his Cyber Key info - he lost his hand to Starscream, and while he upgraded to the medical tool he also decided against a "proper" replacement hand because he did not want to forget that he owed Starscream one.
A little off topic, but did you ever play Xenogears? The one-eyed pirate in that, Bart, had his personal mech intentionally damaged so it effectively only had one eye with a patch over the other to resemble his own face. Given his fearsome reputation, he wanted his enemies to know he was coming for them, and that was his way of showing it.
It really works the same way for "deformed" Transformers. It's a more extreme style of personal standards.
Soundwave84:
i cant wait for these but they look miss transformed
