didn't feel like putting in the dvd but from what i remember they were in an episode(can't remember the name) where the autobots went back to cybertron with chip to find some gadget they needed to save prime. there are 3 rainmakers-greenb,blue,and yellow i believe and they shoot into the clouds to produce acid rain which damaged the autobots. this is from memory so i might be wrong on some parts.
Zaraxion1021:
Wow!! I am so gonna get that Galvatron!!!
silentrob:
I love both of these figures. Galvatron is a fitting tribute to the original and Acid Storm just oozes cool. Hasbro is killing me with all this great stuff lately!

It's a nice little G1 homage for Hasbro to toss out ONE Rainmaker, but I think folks would be setting themselves up for disappointment if they are waiting with bated breath for the other two.

I really do mean this respectfully, for I too would like as many Classic Seekers as I could get. I would love for more generics in different palettes to be released. Rainmakers, purple drones, brand new characters, etc. It would be great. I just don't think we should take them as a given.
Oh I don't take anything as given. Chances are we might not get a full Rainmakers team, but I do hope that at some point Hasbro picks up on the point that fans like their little teams and would like them either equally easy or equally hard to get.

A bit like with GI Joe when they gave us Buzzer, Ripper, and Torch fairly close together because Joe fans would want all 3 founding 'noks in the 25th line instead of spread out in the Joe vs Cobra line.
lookinglasself:
Both of them look AWESOME. Galvatron looks a hell of a lot better than I thought he did in previous pictures.. I just wish he was atleast a Voyager.

I will buy ANY Classics seeker that Hasbro or Takara makes.

I also can't wait to see pics of Cyclonus, he's one of my favorite Decepticons.

Good eye dude, we did get the info at Botcon that GALV-25 was in reference to the 25th anniversary. But Galvatron will be released this fall, as will the 25th Anniversary preview G1 Prime reissue. Check out our botcon coverage for more info on the 2009 plans!
REDLINE:
I hope if we do get another rainmaker his name is not "rainstorm" cause that's just lame. Especially seeing how Acid Storm IS a type of rainstorm. Anyway. I hope we DON'T get a purple seeker from the Ramjet mold, I already did that

That's a good point, collectors DO like little "sub groups," whether it's Seekers, Datsun brothers, Cassettes, whatever. And it's good for Hasbro because grouping characters like that encourages buyers to pick up more figures to complete the group.

I do hope you're right. I wouldn't mind seeing another half-dozen Classics Seekers or more, assuming the mold can hold up that long. I hope it at least holds up long enough to give us Sunstorm, one more generic, and either black or ghost Starscream.
BarBoBot:
Both of these are buys for me.

Galvy looks sweet, and another seeker is like free candy
Otispq:
Sold and Sold! the more seekers the better, and Galvy looks cool.
llamatron:
Galvatron does look pretty good, however I'm still confused and annoyed at the self imposed "realism" rule for Universe. Gah, a huge purple cannon would have been even more awesome. And so would Percepter. And Insecticons. Waaaaaaaaah, screw you Universe, Classics was ten times better.
Runamuck:
Now it's a particle cannon? What happened to the good 'ol Fusion Cannon?

Also, the card art isn't that great. Especially on Galvatron. Just my opinion, though.

The Fusion Cannon is Megatron's weapon. Galavatron's always had the Particle Cannon.

I'm liking the versions in the new pics a lot more than the old ones (I think it might partly be because the old pics are of painted protos, while these are the actual figures).

Oh.

Well, damn....that just makes me look stupid then.

Learn something new everyday, I guess.
Rodr-Evil:
I love that Galvy!
Katamari Prime:
Yup, that's Galvatron.
Robogeek28:
Galvatron looks worse every time I see him.

*shrugs* different strokes for different folks I guess.

Acidstorm however is pure love!
Urlacher5454:
Galvatron looks awesome. I can't believe i'm saying this but the more purple the better.

In G1 that was true, but in Classics, Megatron's cannon is called an "Anti-proton Pulse Cannon."

you have Galvatron as an avatar, you know that Galvatron is a primarily purple character... so what cant you believe about it?

Yep, not the end of the world if they can't pull off a sub group because in the end we want Hasbro to make money so they can keep releasing cool toys. But it would be cool they started giving us the sub groups again in an easier way to get them.

Looking at some of the things they have been doing with their other lines and how they seem to be getting a better pulse on the fan base all of the time I think we can see a bit of hope for cooler and cooler fan friendly things for the Transformers line as well.
warriorpriest:
Well i see them reusing the ramjet mold and maybe even the jetfire mold somehow. After all those are the few molds that have not been reused other then for Botcon toys. Oh wait, grims and megs as well. hehe
SMOG:
Finally a picture of Galvatron that not only appears to be properly transformed, but doesn't hide his funky right arm!

Not as bad as I feared. It looks like he might have an absence of rotation in the arms (unless there's a spot at the bicep, though it doesn't look like it), which is too bad. It's the essential articulation that is most often ignored in many of the new designs, sadly. C'mon Hasbro! You had it figured out by the second wave of GIJOE figures in the 80's! Make it standard in TFs!

Overall, I like it. I'd like it more if it were a Voyager though.

As for the alt-mode debate...
G1 Galvatron = giant vibrator on treads
Universe Galvatron = giant vibrator on treads

We have a match!

Just as long as it isn't Minnesota Vikings purple.....GO BEARS!!!
Chaos Muffin:
Galvatron is awesome, bout time!

All he needs is a little lava pool to crawl out of. Maybe they'll bring Cyclonus /Scourge/Sweeps back for him to smack around

That new Galvatron is awesome. I'll definitely have to pick him up, he's a bargain for $10.

Cyclonus is coming back, but he'll have Nightstick. He might get uppity.
rodster6:
Is Thundercracker ever going to be widely released? Id much rather have him widely available than Acidstorm! Who is Acidstorm by the way?
smkspy:
I'm digging Acid Storm even though Sunstorm would've been better, but Galvatron cannon arm ruins the character IMO. Is it really that hard for hasbro to create tank characters with matching arms? Seriously, I can't imagine that it is that hard to incorporate the tank turret/cannon/arm to match their opposing arm.

In Japan, yes. Anywhere else? Not a chance.

You've somehow managed to completely miss the Botcon controversy. I dunno if that's a good thing or not.

Only if you consider a Store Exclusive a wide release.

I thought we were later told that Thundercracker and Skywarp werent the rumored "store exclusives."

In any event, a store exclusive is still less limited than a convention exclusive.

Nope. Both are store exclusives:

http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products...ent/event.html

Thundercracker is exclusive to Ganbo Store and Skywarp to ToyHobbyMarket.

It seems they'll produce as many are preordered, so that should help with availability.

I could see them using Ramjet as a Rainmaker and Jetfire as Darkwing. Grim, maybe Hun-Grr. As for Megatron, maybe Shockwave or Browning?

Heh heh. Yeah. Maybe teal or yellow? If the DO do Sunstorm, he better be orange. I'm sick of him being yellow.

Srsly, I'd SO buy that.

but wouldn't it be a little on the silly side for both of them to be identical except for color???? I would think so. and YES, Sunstorm primarily orange please.

warriorpriest was mentioning molds that havent been redone (outside of Botcon or Japan) as if there's only a few... but really, more than half of the original Classics have yet to be redone

Classics that have been redone:
Prime - Magnus
Bumblebee - Cliffjumper
Starscream - Skywarp, Acid Storm
Mirage - Fracture

Classics that havent:
Megatron
Hot Rod
Astrotrain
Jetfire
Grimlock
Ramjet
And hell, you could also throw in the deluxe Megatron for good measure.

So, it's not like every mold HAS to have a repaint.

As REDLINE said, having Jetfire be used for both Dreadwind AND Darkwing would be kinda silly. However, someone in another thread mentioned using Silverbolt as Darkwing, and that would work for me.
