Pass. I kinda like the jet mode colors, but everything goes horribly wrong in bot mode. I'm also not keen on buying three of the same mold, and I've already got two of this one who look good in both modes.
That said, I'd totally buy that Leozack. Or a Darkwing repaint.

No, GPS only affects certain kinds of gold plastic, the type that have the swirls in them. It becomes brittle very easily and breaks. While there are other instances of different colored plastics breaking with ease, it is not the same as GPS as they do not detiorate the way the GPS plastic does.

On one hand the Jetfire mold is easily one of the best TF molds ever in my opinion but on the other the colors are.....different. Probably the first Universe toy I will not instantly have to have.

Afterburner. Skyscorcher looking colourschemes looked terrible in the early 90's and they look terrible now so he's an easy pass, which is a shame as it's a great looking figure, just not in these colours.

argh. You know, if they're going to repaint jetfire, I wish they'd do different booster/armor packs. I'm not a macross dude, but I'm pretty sure they had more than one kind of upgrade package for those guys.
Actually, I wish they'd do that for a lot of figs. One of my favorite things about Zoids were the upgrade and customize parts. I'd be so much more broke it's not even funny if those came out for TFs.

Thats a great idea but unfortunatley I don't think Hasbro is either interested in this or has the ability to do this.

opinions on treadbolt:
Well given the darker colors. It's easier for radicons to repaint for black or purple figures. Personally I have something in mind. classics darkwing. Way easier with this plastic than than the brilliant white of jetfire.
Now as for the repaint as it is. I'll get it, I can't have enough classics.
The jet mode looks brilliant. So it will sell. These won't be warmers.

if they'd stuck to blue and black (make everything brown black) and kept the lower extremities blue, maybe even lose the grey and been a little more liberal with the yellow accents, he could have looked fantastic.
as-is, the Universe Voyagers continue to be full of lose.

Oddly enough, I like the colors. He doesn't look like an Autobot however, but still. Might have to buy some Reprolabel con stickers. Make him a con. I'll keep Jetfire with his helmet off, Dreadwind with his helmet off, and Treadbolt with his helmet on. It'll keep the three pretty different enough for me.

The rootbeer brown color doesn't look good on him, though I'll still buy one to repaint. The should have made it the light gray color that they've used on other parts of him. It is nice to see that his clear-plastic parts are tinted red instead of brown (like it appeared in other pictures of him). If I do anything with his backpack, I'll probably turn it into a more Skyfire-ish looking backpack.
