Is there a faction symbol anywhere on him? I've just assumed he's an Autobot....

I don't like the brown/bronze or whatever it is, it doesn't mesh with the rest of the color scheme too well.

I like the colourscheme, and I dont own Jetfire so he's an instant buy!

I'm not crazy about the gray parts, but overall I like the mold and will probably get him.

I'm wondering if this is a test shot or something. So many niggling things that just seem not right - no "detail" paint apps like eyes and no faction symbols for a start.

There's a faction symbol right behind the cockpit. It's kinda hard to see, it's that silver color they used a lot for the movie toys.

It looks... alright. I'm not sure what it is, but something is throwing me off. I think it has something to do with the brown... just doesn't fit the rest of the color scheme IMO. However, I may decide to get him once I see him in person. Sometimes paint apps can look more garish on a computer screen than they actually do IRL. Still, he'll probably be low on my priority of purchase list.

i suppose i should try to branch out more and try to find more original molds- mabey internet shopping

anyhow- does anyone know how hasbro arrive at the characters for their molds?
are they restricted to copyright issues or are they catering for the fanbase?
cos nobody ive ever met would say a treadbolt repaint was top of their wish list!

Maybe in this case, its not so much the character as much as it is the mold that will help sell this toy

and its a fantastic mold, dont get me wrong, just seems to me that cloudburst or someone would have been a better character.

on a side note, ive just realised that none of the pretenders have ever been realised as new characters in any series- does anyone know if theres any plans for a new take on the pretenders?
mabey for next years 25th aniversery? don showed how cool they can be in stormbringer, with thunderwing and ESPECIALLY bludgeon

I like the colours used on it. The only thing putting me off it right now, is the brown plastic used on it. Isn't that the stuff that can also get GPS?

Grey helmet - bad. Grey socks - bad. Otherwise it looks like a winner.

That's actually my favorite thing about this repaint! I have a weird thing for Transformers with colored faces.... I think just because I get tired of all the silver metallic faces.

This is a very odd and unique deco. With the blue face and bronze, it almost gives off a Dinobot (BW, not G1) vibe. Overall I like it, though it does feel a little disjointed. I agree with Ktulu that the silver helmet isn't doing it any favors. Of course, it's a moot point.... I like the paint on the head so much that I'll be keeping his helmet off anyway.

It definitely looks VERY distinct from Jetfire. I still hate the damn nonsensical "Treadbolt" name, though... surely there are dozens of Transformers airplane names that would have suited him better.

I actually like his overall colorscheme. Just not his brown poop-missiles.

No. GPS stands for Gold Plastic Syndrome. You can't have Gold Plastic Syndrome if he doesn't have any gold plastic.

I think this guy is really funky for some reason. Seriously, I think the brown works and the silver plastic and silver paint actually match pretty well.

Autobot, his symbol is on the raised area behind the cockpit, it ends up on his collarbone in robot mode.

I'm liking the design of him, great homage to the G1 Micromaster, who was also blue and a yellowy brown color. Not sure if I'll pick him up since I've got Jetfire, but there's plenty to like about his look.

Putting him on my "considering it" list.

I'd love to see this mold in cloudburst colours!

I know what it means, and its also been confirmed in the past that it doesn't just directly affect Gold Plastic.

The Brown plastic used here doesn't look very good quality to start off with.

It does have to be plastic with metallic flakes, though. Breaks usually seem to occur along areas where the flakes are poorly mixed. And other than TM Megatron, all the instances of which I know are in gold plastic.

I don't know of any TFs produced in the last 10 years that have had the problem.

I still have no idea how folks can determine plastic quality from photos.

Hm. I think it'd look better with the grey plastic bits replaced with the matching black parts from a Jetfire. Otherwise, not bad. But not something I'll get.

I'm all for mixing up color pallets for repaints, but this one is just straight up ugly.

Those are some nice colors. And his helmet looks like it's painted silver to me, awesome.

Eeee gads, that's not good IMO. The face and the gray parts kill him.

When I saw alt mode pics a while ago I was impressed. 1 I like this mold and 2 it had blue angels colors, but then I saw robot mode and I just can't get over the awful palette they chose for this figure. I guess I'll pass on this one...

This is pure win. I am really impressed with this repaint and is more of what I was hoping for...

I don't mind the recolour but I really HATE the brown for the limbs.

If I didn't have both Dreadwind and Jetfire, this would've been on my want list. However two of this mould is enough for me at this time, unless Hasbro dramatically remoulds it or it receives a spectacularly appropriate repaint.

Looking at the pictures more intently, I don't mind the brown generally (or the rest of the palette), but those brown pieces down the side of the nose are a bit of an eye-sore.
