It's already been said the it is Ravage.
Primus:
Those minibots are awesome! Where's Cosmos?
UltraPrimal:
Starscream: Damb, I already have Classics and Henkei. I wish he was made of translucent plastic.
Hound:It's good he has with shoulder cannon, but does he only have 1 fist hole? Does he have another gun, or does he just take off his shoulder gun?
Bruticus:I looked at the pics before reading and I was wondering who he could be. Then I remembered there's supposed to be a new Dinobot too. The head and alt mode make sense, but the colors don't. So is he Dinobot? Megatron? T-Wrecks? Oviously not. What a way left field idea to do a repaint for RiD Bruticus.
Vector Prime: Then I saw this guy and thought, "Oh! Maybe this Dinobot". He does have the same colors. Maybe some kind of post-BW. Like he survives but in order to get back to Cybertron he has to rebuild himself into a ship using the remains of the Axalon. Still I hope we get an all new Dinobot.
Powersa:
I like the Starscream with new paint job. Better than a lot of other deluxes.
Grimlock_13:
Animated- Swindle looks great...I'll probably get Skywarp because I'm a sucker for the color scheme, the rest I couldn't care less about.

Universe- Sadly, Cheetor still looks horrible in bot mode. Cheetah mode is great though. I dunno I'm not too excited about this one. Hound and Inferno look great and Cyclonus is jaw-droppingly freaking amazing. Vector Prime and Bruticus will more than likely be passes. I'll probably get the legends since they're fairly cheap. Robot Heroes are an instant buy. Too bad about the Slag/ Snarl name shuffle

What's a 25th Anniversary without Starscream? Easy way to issue a Starscream for the 25th Anniversary.

Not in 2009 Wave 1, which you see in the pictures.

Hmmmm.....Vector Prime = Last Autobot? Some of the paint applications seem to suggest so, some don't.
Vector Prime
Last Autobot
Velcrohead:
My thoughts:

The Animated toys all look nice, but the only reason I get Animated toys is to troop build in my Universe/Classics line, or to fill in for missing characters. (For example, Animated Snarl and Swoop are in my Classics Dinobots lineup.) Thus, Bumblebee and several others won't be bought by me. Which is great, because it looks like a lot of this line will be must-buys, and I could do with saving the money...

Animated Swindle will almost certainly join my Classics Combaticons, and Blurr may replace the Cybertron Blurr I have on my Classics shelf. I have to get a better look at him.

The update on Classics Starscream looks nice. I may get him just as an upgrade. Oh who am I kidding, I can't resist a Classics Seeker. I do wish he would've been another character, but given the difference in deco, I can just call the original Starscream something else...maybe a clone or something.

Cyclonus, Hound, Brawn, Inferno, Beachcomber and Legends Bumblebee are all easy buys. I cannot wait to get these all on my Classics shelf. (I'm stuck with how to explain Big and Little Bumblebee in my own continuity, but I'll figure it out.) Cheetor is probably a guaranteed buy as well, but he'll likely be the last one I pick up.

For some reason, I'm not inspired by Vector Prime or Bruticus. Oh well, more for you guys to buy, I suppose.

This is just Wave 1? I need to get a second job!
Megatronwp38:
These all look sweet. I will be getting most. I will get the Classics SS because the original was so wacky.

as for inferno, i like the fact he doesnt have the latter due to this being more realistic. the fire engines i work around dont have mounted latters on them, but do have deck guns
Dead Metal:

The only ones I really don't think I'll be getting is that Bruticus, animated legends and the RH.

Can't wait for next year!
Dinobot Nuva:
Animated-
Blurr, Swindle, Skywarp and Shockwave/Longarm Prime are all sold for me, pass on the other two repaints.

Universe-
Sold on all the Robot Heroes, wonder what they'll call the original Snarl when he gets made now though. Hardshell is a pleasant surprise, my favorite of the Insecticon designs.
Inferno, Cyclonous, Hound, and the Legends are all sold. Cheetor is a bit of a disappointment, will probably end up picking up him, Starscream and Vector Prime though anyway... I want to see what their "excuse" is for VP's new color scheme on his character bio.

Also, Predacon Bruticus is AWESOME. We need more obscure characters like this, and its a good hole filler because I could never find the original RID Bruticus. Fingers crossed it reads "Robots in Disguise Series" on the box.

And for those complaining about Inferno's lack of ladder, A. It'll make it easier to produce Grapple, and B. He's not a Ladder, he's an Engine now.
DN
Drake:
Universe Cyclonus, Hound & Inferno are made of awsome!
Animated Swindle, Blurr & Skywarp and Shockwave are must haves too.

Unfortunaly he looks SO good as a fire truck that there's no way Hasbro will be able to make a Grapple out of him. My next guess would be a repaint into Hotspot, yes?
DeathStorm:
Brawn, Beachcomber, and Bumblebee may just be the first Legends I'll buy. At least they'll be scaled accurately to the rest of my Classics. Of course then Cliffjumper will tower over Bumblebee, but no biggie.

Yeah, but some do. So those are realistic, as well.
j.a.f.o.:
Hound was one G1 toy I never had as a kid. This one screams "perfection," IMO. Whereas Sunstreaker/Sideswipe look to have skinny arms and awkward-looking legs, Hound's proportions look great: He looks beefy, which is apropos for having a rugged off-roading alt mode.

The only Classics I own is Bumblebee. Now I think he and Hound will make a great pair (although we all know I should be talking Hound AND Cliffjumper).

Animated: Swindle, Blurr, Skywarp, and Shockwave are must haves for me!

Universe: Hound, Cyclonus, Vector Prime, and Bruticus are awesome.

I didn't see a release date. Does anybody know when is the release date?
Fosterlager:
There's so much win here! But I wanted Starscream's Ghost.
General Magnus:
I donīt see Bruticus. I like the others though.

Last picture. The three-headed dragon.
General Tekno:
Robot Heroes - pass on me except Cheetor/Tankor. I like me some Cheetor and Evil Rhinox.
Animated - Swindle and Blurr are musts. As are Shockwave and Skywarp (but them thanks to other pics)
Universe (longer):
Legends - all are buys. Good molds.
Starscream - really, he hasn't been done since late 2006 domestically. So I have no complaints - especially since he's been done better. A buy.
Cyclonus - WIN.
Hound - Want. But mostly for that awesome Ravage.
Cheetor - UGH. Disappointment. And I say this as a fan of Cheetor toys.
Inferno - he'll be fighting the fires caused by my BW Inferno indeed.
Vector Prime - I have the Hasbro one from before - this is a beautiful repaint. Must get.
Bruticus - I dunno. I like the mold (but don't have), I like the colors, the homage is clever... but I'm already getting worried about my wallet.

Ya know, Predacon and a dragon.

Inferno looks awesome too
SPLIT LIP:
Actually, Excluding Starscream, Cheetor, Lockdown and Legends Starscream, there's nothing here I probably won't buy.

VP looks great. I hope he's that nice in person. Bruticus is pretty bitchin' and I never got Scourge so yay! (plus, I love Predacons) Still lovin' Skywarp. The legends are concentrated win.

Blurr's missing the spoiler/stick-thing on the back of his Alt mode.
Kimmer:
cyclonus,hound,and inferno-definate buys.
swindle,shockwave,and skywarp-definate buys.
blurr-just looks too scrawny looking but still a definate buy.
bb and lockdown-no thanks.
legends-all must buys except for screamer. brawn looks especially badass.
cheetor-hell no!
vector prime and bruticus-both look just horrible.
g1 rh's-of course must buys but the whole name change issue just pisses me off. especially slag. i just don't get it and it's just beyond ridiculous. now we have to be politically correct when it comes to toy names? unreal!
Mr Dogworm:
It looks to me like Vector Prime is a homage to The Last Autobot from the G1 Marvel comic:

The Last Autobot

Works quite well with the spacecraft alt mode, Autobot symbol face and "ancient" look. Colours look nice too. Shame it'll have the crappy Hasbro floppy safety sword though *hugs his Takara GF Vector Prime so hard the pointy sword accidentally punctures his liver*

I *love* most of the new moulds, apart from Animated Blurr (need to see more pictures to sell it I think) and Cheetor (need to see it transformed properly - even then it looks wonky). I do wish "Snarl" and Sharkticon were in their beast modes though. They'd be much cuter! The recolours are generally great too. I'm thrilled RiD Bruticus is getting a homage as I seem to be one of the few people who really liked that figure. 2009 should be a good year
Storm:
I'm just hoping for a rescue and cover set of smokescreen and red alert now. Just for Inferno to have a whiny bitch to ignore

Wow you're right about that Vector Prime and The Last Autobot. Look incredibly alike in alt mode.
Shin Densetsu:
Man I hope Classics Starscream has a Thundercracker variant. I may pick this one up, that deco looks good and better to me than the henkei. I'm a sucker for transforming jets...speaking of which...Cyclonus looks awesome! I hope Universe Cheetor is mistransformed, because that is terrible if it isn't.

I was wondering if this was what they were homaging... man, it looks awesome.
Banshee:
Wow, I love Cyclonus and Blur! Inferno is also very cool, with an impressive ALT mode IMO.

Hound looks like he suffers from a mild mental illness though. I hope it's just the picture.
The classic Starscream repaint looks really good, and almost makes me want to buy henkey thundercracker... almost.

Animated Skywarp is hot. Cheetos is not.
Silent_Magnus:
I hope people realise that a deluxe wave normally has 4 figures and that Bumblebee is just there to fill out wave 5.
I'm pretty sure he is not a repaint or anything

As for the rest:
I was hoping for something along the lines of a deluxe armada starscream, but since I never picked up the first classics starscream. This one will do.

Kinda wish the released Vector Prime with his takara colors, I want to own a toy of him and would prefer him in his show-accurate color scheme.
I'll still try to get him though.

I was thinking about this myself. Now that I can look at the picture compared to a picture of the Last Autobot, the homage looks even more clear. Would be a great opportunity for Sculpt-bot to make a LA head for this mold. I'd definetly at least try and buy one from him. I might end up getting several copies of this mold, lol. Try to get the origional, I already have one painted as Prima, get this repaint as the Last Autobot, and get another one to turn into Alpha Trion. That right there is 4 of the origional 13 TF's (all Autobots too).

You and me both. At least I can replace my Classics Starscream with the Universe one so I can justify kitbashing the original into Leader 1.

Yep, pretty much all of these here are 2009 releases, though I wouldn't be surprised to see some of them in December of this year. Shockwave, for example, was given an estimated release date of December of this year at SDCC.
protostar8:
Wow. I'm definitely getting the Anniversary G1 inspired characters. They look great! Cheetor still doesn't look too good IMO and the arms being mis-transformed doesn't help (I can see the little attachment points by the cheetah head, why the person transforming it couldn't is anyone's guess???)
Silent_Magnus:
Cheetor's Cheetah mode looks really good.
I'm probably going to get him because he's one of my favorite Beast Wars characters and I can't find any of my toys for him besides the Beast Machine ones.

no one is forcing you to buy it. hell if you have the first classics, and henkei, you got them all. you're only telling hasbro "yes, please make more very slight repaints so i can buy them" when you actually do buy them.

1. Hardshell for the Perceptor Vs. Hardshell Robot Heroes Two-Pack. Would it kill Hasbro to call him "Insecticon Bombshell" or "Decepticon Bombshell" instead of Hardshell? I know, trademark issues and everything, but at this point, it can kiss my ass.
I'm not entirely sure what the reasoning behind the name to Bombshell is, but my immediate assumption is a legal/marketing standpoint, not wanting to include anything related to "war" with the character's name, especially since these will probably go overseas where the war isn't so popular. Very possible a trademark issue too. Remember, it's not like Hasbro has used "Bombshell" in the United States since, oh, 1985?

Quote:
2. Robot Heroes Slag named Snarl. Again, ANOTHER name problem. How about "Dinobot Slag" or "Autobot Slag"? Well, knowing Hasbro, it's trademark issues again. Seriously, Hasbro...listen to the fans. You did so in the past, why not the present? (No one answer that with a witty response, please)
"Slag" is slang in Europe for bad things. That is the reason Hasbro chose to go with "Snarl". Rather than have to re-spend money on new packaging with a new name overseas, they chose to change the name across the board. You may not like it, but it would be similar to a character being named "Fag" here in the United States while in Britain it has no bad/derogatory meaning behind it.

Quote:
3. STARSCREAM. WHAT. THE. HELL? We FINALLY get a G1-toon accurate Starscream based on the Classics mold, yet we ALREADY HAVE A CLASSICS STARSCREAM. Okay, granted, the first Classics 'Screamer wasn't COMPLETELY accurate, but it was close. And even Takara-Tomy took the liberty of releasing Henkei Starscream in his G1-toon colors. So now I have to go and waste $10 on ANOTHER Starscream just so it looks more accurate? Dammit, Hasbro, you know how I love repaints, but this is more or less of an exception. It just pisses me off...
Wait.

Hasbro painted a toy in the way that everyone wanted it painted and you're bitching about it? You freakin' hypocrite. You can't bitch that Hasbro "doesn't listen to the fans" and "doesn't ever release toys the way we want them" and then turn around and yell at them for doing the exact thing you wanted in the first place.

You are hereby the poster child for whiney fanboys.

Quote:
4. Cheetor. One word can only describe this toy: FUGLY. If they wanted to make a new mold based on the first Cheetor toy, they didn't have to make him an anorexic Maximal in both modes. Unfortunately, since I am a Beast Wars completionist, I'll buy him.
I have to agree with you here -- Cheetor is pretty ... messed up. And not in a good way. I think they spent a lot of time on the beast mode and then tried to turn it in to a robot. The result isn't that pretty.

Quote:
5. Legends Brawn, Beachcomber, and Bumblebee. Just their size-class explains why I don't like it. Hasbro...bring back the basic/scout class, please. The Cybertron scout toys were AMAZING, along with the Energon basic toys. Just...make these three basic-sized. Legends-size is too small.
Basic toys sell, but not as well as Legends toys. That, and with the price increase on Hasbro products across the board, basic toys will cost almost as much as what deluxe toys cost a couple of years ago. The tooling costs between a Legends toy and a Basics toy are actually quite broad, thus Legends is easier and cheaper to make which allows for larger case assortments and larger character assortments which is why you're getting a bunch of new molds in each wave.

Or you could get 4 basic waves spread out over a year and have maybe 4 molds that are unique and repaints of the rest. You pick.

Quote:
6. Vector Prime. When I first heard that this toy was getting a re-release in the Universe line, I was hoping Hasbro would fix some of the problems this toy had (the bendable plastic sword and wings, for a primary example) and keep the same colors. NOPE! Instead, Hasbro decides to repaint it into ugly colors, possibly as some sort of pseudo-homage to the first Universe line (nothing but repaints, 3/4 of the line was BAD repaints). Vector Prime looks like he's been inside somebody's ass, and tried to paint over some of the brown with silver and black. Shitty colors for a toy, a good repaint it does not make.
You were hoping Hasbro would repaint a character ... without actually repainting him? Okay...

And you actually didn't have a gripe against Animated? Strange!
Peaugh:
Nice. Definitely digging Inferno a lot more now that I can see him clearly. Shockwave makes my eyes burn. Not only is he horribly mistransformed, he's MISSING PARTS. The upper thigh pieces have clearly been removed for whatever reason. Gah.

Beachcomber's also looking better than expected.
dark69:
wow lots of good stuff coming.....my poor poor bank account

Anyone have a clue why Cosmos isn't pictured? I thought he was part of the 25th anniversary figs?
