Henkei Thrust and Dirge Photos on Gambo

Henkei Thrust and Dirge Photos on Gambo TF1113_02
Some sleuthing on Japanese retailer Ganbo's website has turned up the full-color photos for the eagerly-awaited Henkei exclusives Thrust and Dirge. Thanks to OzFormers' kurdt_the_goat for the nice find!

The photos confirm the two Decepticon Ramjet repaints will both have remolded wings and new paint apps. And from the looks of Thrust's wings, his VTOL engines appear to be able to be removed from the robot's lower legs and mounted on the top of the main wing in jet mode!

Way more differences than Skywarp & Thundercracker!
Silent_Magnus:
Thrust certainly has some weird wings, but I like Dirge's.
Ktulu:
Fairly spiffy but the patterns on the wings look kinda ass in robot mode

...And why are Thrust's VTOL propellers covered in vehicle mode?
Megatronwp38:
Oh, very fancy, but with dirge, the didn't need that stripe. the wings alone make it different enough from the botcon one. Thrust Kinda of looks weird but still a buy.
aprim:
I'll buy'em but damn they are some ugly ass seekers.
Fit For natalie:
Bizzare that in the cartoon-accurate world of Henkei, they start doing fancy patterns *now*.
Peanut04:
Dirge looks nice, but I can't believe they covered Thrusts VTOL. I mean if they are covered up, whats the point in even having them. They could just as well not put them on at all, painted him red and called it a day. Very disappointing indeed.
Gadep:
they rock........
G1Wheeljack:
Oh these will be mine
WhiteMocha:
Well, Thrust is.... different. What a.... unique.... placement for his VTOL engines. Ahem.

Dirge looks all right, if a little gaudy. I think I would have preferred if his stripe pattern was only painted on the top of the wings, though, so it showed in plane mode but not robot mode. It's a little distracting in robot mode.

No regrets in ordering a pair, though.

EDIT: Okay, after staring at them for a second, does it look like maybe Thrust's VTOL's are actually removeable? And can be re-attached on the wings? Why else would the wings have peg holes in their TOP sides? And the VTOL's look so tacked on on the bottom of the rear wings, I could totally see them popping off and being switched around. Anyone else see this? Am I crazy?
Tekkaman Blade:
Cool, I think I like the Botcon Thrust better,(but can't afford it so I'll go with this version.
Incepticon:
Hell of a time for them to start pulling weird ass Classics styled paint jobs. WTF is that about all of a sudden? Almost makes me wonder if Hasbro told them something along the lines of "okay you can release these guys, but you have to completely remold the wings AND paint them all whacky so they are not remotely close to the BotCon '07 versions". It's very un-Henkei like to pull something like this out of thin air.

I'm disappointed with the result, but kind of thankful at the same time since now I won't have any regrets skipping these guys along with Henkei Ramjet.
MushroomPrime:
Definitely getting Dirge.

Thrust got completely screwed. I may buy it. I maen, the VTOL Fans are my favortie part of Thrust, why cover them up in Vehicle mode?
SPLIT LIP:
Man, Thrust looks dumb. Dirge is okay.
General Tekno:
Not bad at all.

But too much for me.
Insane Galvatron:
Thrust definitely looks to have removable thrusters that can be mounted on his wings instead.

I'll have to remove the paint off the wings, the stripes look dumb.
RavX:
I have to say I am a bit disappointed in how these turned out. I know they needed to be different from the botcon versions but all the stripes and camo ... i dunno .. its almost too busy of a paintjob ... this is the only affordable way to complete the seeker set though so I'll probably still buy them.

Hahaha, Thrust

Are you thinking that maybe there is a peg on the VTOL fan part that attaches to the hole on the top of his wings? That would make more sense...

Hahaha, oh you.
Peanut04:
It does look strange with the peg hole on top of the wings. It is possible that the VTOL are removable to place in a different spot, though I kinda doubt it. I'm at a loss right now.
Cascadia:
They are cool but I wish, like already mentioned, if the stripes stay on top for alt. mode only and leave the wings plain for robot mode.
artiepants:
I think Dirge looks ace!

BOOM!!! I put that together too and was gonna post it before i saw your post.
It's gotta be, nothing else makes sense... the VTOL thrusters are just SOOOO tacked on to the tail wings
Fosterlager:
Thrust is in his Halloween costume. He went as Cyberjet Jetfire this year.
tony77tony77:
Thrust TVOL looks removible. look at the front wings they have holes on top where u can put the guns so the TVOL can go on the bottom.
Optimus747:
Awesome

Dirge is incredible, I'm glad I pre-ordered a couple.
It'll be a long wait, though...
ShadowStitch:
No way, this is awesome! Why didn't I think to try changing the picture urls? WHY?

I'd bet you're right. It looks like they will probably be removable to re-place on top of the wings. A little partsformery? Perhaps, but no one says you ever have to take them back off!

In any case, Imma buy a few of each... No need for Botcon!

I see it man. I think the VTOL are removeable.
Chaos Convoy:
I may have to buy these...

Just the fact that they look so different from the Botcon ones and my custom ones makes me want them. And then add on top of that the very Classics-esque paint jobs on 'em, that makes me want them even more.
MushroomPrime:
Alright, I'll bite for Thrust, I just hope the removable VTOL fans thing is true.
SmokescreenGT:
These look good, but Thrust's wings need some serious help. I hope they are removable like some have suggested. He's my favorite conehead and I was hoping to get him, but I won't pay a high price for crappy looking wings.
Weirdwolf:
WOW those guys look great! Who needs the BotCon set now!?
Dinobot Nuva:
These will go so much better with the Classics versions of Screamer, Skywarp and Ramjet.
Still...really backwards.
DN
big hank:
Don't really like the VTOL thrusters on Thrust, and Dirges wing stripes are meh, but overall not bad figures here!
Orion_Prime48:
those are quite ugly with those wing patterns if I bought Dirge id remove those ugly ass stripes

hers to hopin Hasbro releae em in a more G1 look
Moroni Prime:
Well, I hope I don't say this ever again, but I'll say it this once...

In this instance... HENKEI = EPIC FAIL.

If I get any at all, it will be Dirge, with whom I will remove the paint stripes and plug them onto the Botcon one (If I decide to get one).

For a variation on a line that prides itself on G1 accurate paint schemes and such, this was a swing and a miss.
ActionMasterZod:
Thrust is a cow, and Dirge is very good looking indeed.
LadyStarscream:
I don't like them at all, ugh! horrible! And for me to diss a seeker, that's saying something! LOL
Dinobot Nuva:
Wait a second, is it me or are they using the standard seeker mold's missiles instead of Ramjet's?
DN
Tman978:
Weird wings on thrust. Dirge has the wrong blasters. Anyone post that yet?
Tman978:
wait, that makes sense.
LadyStarscream:
Any word on what these monstrosities are going to cost us? I'll still have to buy them even though I hate them, depending on the price of course.
Cascadia:
They are an expensive set (depending on where you buy them from).
KING KONVOY:
so glad i waited for henkei

Thought about getting them so I can put them back in their box but after seeing these pics confirms my decision..Pass. I'll stick with my Botcon ones.

BBTS and TFsource both have preorders up. $165 at BBTS, $145 at TFsource.
Sprocket:
I just wish I knew why they put Thrust's intakes under the tail fins. Why not, I don't know, mold them into the wings?
