| First Look: New Transformers Universe Whirl, Sandstorm and Optimus Prime On Ebay |

The three items, listed by eBay seller tfcoy, are for Whirl and Sandstorm, a pair of helicopters based on the Transformers Energon combiner helicopter brothers Blackout and Stormcloud. The auctions are rounded out by a new Deluxe class Optimus Prime. This toy is a redeco of the Transformers Cybertron Deluxe in a more "classic" color scheme.

New Universe figs? Those are the Energon combiners, but with new decos. They certainly look legit. Perhapes they're like the movie's scout line?

Interesting. they do look legit. Not from the old Universe line, but could be from either the new Universe line or the Movie line (Target Exlusive Scouts). Either way I wouldn't mind picking them up. Another Energon Gestalt repaint would be nice, imo. The only odd thing is their names, Whirl and Sandstorm, yet they are Decepticons. Not a biggy, though I'd probably make them Autobots if I got them (give us repaints of the other three in the team and it'd make a nice Gestalt to counter the Classics Devastator that I have).

There are already two target movie scout repaints of Energon combiners scheduled. They're already repainting the tank and um... one of the planes?

That helicopter was green and had clear blue parts like the tank does. I personally don't think that those two and these two are supposed to go together. These might very well be a part of the Universe line. Personally I'd be happy with just a little bit of red paint on the Decepticon logos to make them Autobots, as the molded logo doesn't have all that much detail in it.
Edit: This could be why they trademarked the name Combaticons...

This repaint seems to have the same feature.

Looks like this'll be another addition to the Armada Series part of the Universe line. Here's hoping it isn't long till we get some more info on these guys.

That said, I love the Combaticon theory. That dollar sign and color scheme scream Swindle since I cant see him as a tank, but Blast Off can be a tank name, too, and then we wont have two copters sharing a color scheme.

I think he'll look fine along with my original Armada one plus the deluxe Nemesis. It will mean an import though as we'll never see him in the UK I'd imagine.

the Sandstorm deco isn't really working for me, but i dig the Whirl one. It's really too bad they did the molded emblems in A/E/C since it makes it hard to switch molds factions. Quote:

So... are we SURE that they're called Whirl and Sandstorm? If they are, I'm disappointed that Hasbro went and let them be Decepticons. Unless of course, they're labeled as "Energon Series" or "Armada Series" or whatever. If they're for "Classics Series", Vortex and Swindle are more like it.... Then make Blast Off and Brawl tanks... but who the hell would the last one be if Onslaught already has a new body?
Onslaught, of course.... *rolls eyes*
