Thanks to 2005 Boards member Alkaline, we have our first look at the Mighty Muggs version of Starscream. Starscream will be introduced along with Grimlock in Transformers Mighty Muggs Wave 2, which is due out around March. Click on the thumbnail to the left to view the new image.

He's missing his null rays, but other than that... perfect.

(Though when I first saw the title, I was thinking this was going to be a picture of the ROTF M&M packages, but one with M&M Starscream on the front instead of the Twins.)

Takara_destron:
That looks pretty good, but Mighty Muggs are not for me.
netkid:
It looks like he has the nullrays, they're just part of the arm detail/decals.
Railguard:
AAAWWWW he looks cute!

I think what you are seeing is the piece of board or paper that is behind him which is giving the illusion of null rays.
shibamura_prime:
At first I thought the border of the picture was the tip of his wing, thinking "Damn! That's gonna poke out a whole lotta eyes!"

Regardless, he's cute as hell. Especially the bowl cut look.
xZAOx:
Wow do I hate these things. I don't know why I have such intense anger at seeing these. Maybe it's because my wife keeps spending money on the star wars ones.
Dinobot Nuva:
I need all the money I can get, so pass at this point.
SarahMobius:
cutest thing EVER.
General Tekno:
BLOODY HELL.

Why do Mighty Muggs have to look so awesome?
MekaGojira3k:
null rays or not, I'm gonna try to pick this guy up.
Tman978:
waits for silver face complaint.......
Silent_Magnus:
I'm going to hold off on these till we get an Ultra Magnus.
karamazov80:
I don't like the Muggs very much, and I think the other Transformer Muggs, specifically, suck hard. But I will buy this. He is my favorite TF, and this statue/figure really captures his personality.

Arn't 90% of all Mighty Muggs repaints?
Jordo02:
*EDIT* he neeeeds the null rays. ill still get him and the skywarp/thundercracker repaints if they make them.
artiepants:
IMHO some of these have worked quite well for what they are (esp. Soundwave and Bumblebee).

This one does not.

at all.
Twin Twist:
Since when were Starscreams null rays that big a part of the character?

Are you all jumping on the hate bandwagon for the sake of it? They're nowhere near as Iconic as Meg's armlaserguncannon.
Devastattor:
You know, I really like that. I may cave and buy the SS Might Mugg. It'll probably the only one I get though.
Nekoman:
Where does this come from?
Kimmer:
maybe he'll come with a mini megatron for a gun. shouldn't we start seeing wave 1 any day now?
BigRC83:
PASS.
GogDog:
I love it.
VAwitch:
I am still trying to figure out what the lure/charm of the Mighty Muggs are... regardless of specific franchise (Joe, SW, TF)...
dark69:
omg! wow i love him!!!!!!!!!! i want LOTS of repaints!!!!

80-90% are meh but some of them are great.
SKowl:
Umm... isn't this a scan from the OTFCC magazine?
Ktulu:
The ever-polarized Transformers fan base, gotta love it.

Me? I'm on the YES THIS IS AWESOME train, I will buy one with glee

Oh, I agree, it's a small quibble for me. Just saying I think it'd be better with the null rays.

Nope, unless it's from an upcoming issue (and then I wouldn't know why Mighty Muggs Soundwave would be there, since they already previewed that 2 issues ago).

Maybe its a 'so ugly/stupid-looking they're cute' thing.

I'm kind of surprised that no one has complained about the lack of shoulder intakes - but then again the design doesn't really allow for them. Me, I'll judge in person. I am glad they made him, tho.

StarSaber79:
He looks really cool I think he is the best TF Mighty Mugg we have seen so far.
silentrob:
Awesome! So far I'm buying every TF they've previewed.

I've got Vader and just picked up Cobra Commander, I just love the Muggs. As for their appeal, I love odds and ends in my collection. It's not all Hasbro transforming Transformers, I have statues, Action Masters, Happy Meal toys, even non-toy stuff. I think a diverse collection is just more fun to collect. Just my opinion.
Soundwave84:
so not realy enjoying these Mighty Muggs i am going to have to pass on this one

Believe me... I don't understand it myself.

And yet I want some of them.

They call to some primal untapped desire, I think.

The point is that they are mass-market urban vinyl. Instead of spending $20 on a Kubrick or $90 on a Kidrobot toy, we get artsy toys of all our favorite movie and cartoon characters for a working man's TEN BUCKS and the quality of the figure and packaging doesn't miss a beat.

They're funky boutique toys that you can get at Walmart And I love anytime someone takes a notch out of a haughty pop-art movement.
faithingruden:
I will probably have all of these by the time it's all said and done..
Zaraxion1021:
WTF!? Is the first wave even out yet!? I can't seem to find them anywhere......
