| Buyers Beware: FansProject Shadow Commander Knock Off |
| Posted on 05-22-2009 at 12:10 AM by TM2 D-bot | FansProject and board members S250 and daelite20 have alerted that a Shadow Commander knock off has been released. It appears the knock off is based on the earlier City Commander mold as it does not have the newer Shadow Commander's screw holes.
Pictures comparing the original with the knock off can be seen by clicking on the title bar.

I specifically asked the guy if ebay is going to contact the seller about the issue or has any action against him and the answer was negative...for now...

hmm...looks like it's cast out of the original City Commander mold. Didn't the original CC not have the screw holes? I'll have a look at mine when I have a chance to unpack it.
good looking KO though, they must have got access to real molds to make something that looks that good. They should have redone CC with chrome, it would've sold so much better...lol

seriously, the KO is suprisingly good. as D mentioned, you will not notice it is KO if wasn't those screws...
btw, the seller got 48 offers on this item...

As with the real toy, a lot of force is required, and if the plastic is not of quality, there could be a limit in transforming before the piece breaks.

I hope he starts turning out different colored combos but at a lower price. He will start dropping them once demand dries up, especially after word gets out they are KOs.

oh wow lol i would love ko versons of the armor myself a 80 doller armor cost 160 here in new zealand so its a bit more important to us to have cheaper versons of stuff like this

oh yeah, it doesnt have the little plugs that come with original in the little baggie, it only has the faceplate..the packaging is not that soft and the lettering is little bit faded.

Bah, I can live without the plugs; I doubt I'd put them in, just in case anything broke. I'm glad the faceplate is there though.

Damn... I wish there was a City Commander knock off at this price. If there doesn't turn out to be one, I might just get this and repaint it in UM colors.

I can understand when someone knocks offda G1 figure your paying hundreds of dollars for something your think is a quarter century old, not just cranked out last month

I never really cared much for it, but if this was cheaper I'd totally pick up a KO of the shadow commander armor just for shits 'n giggles.
Besides, those parts that don't turn because they're reversed? Just pop out the pins and swap them over. Problem solved.
