I don't get why Ratchet's gun has to be so… Red… It looks like he's wielding the world's most lethal Lego brick for a weapon. Couldn't they have made it grey like Ironhide's?
Other than that, I'm still undecided about the figure… I've no desire to pick up Ironhide right now (Even if I could ^^;…) and the figure still has the ugly painted windows on its sides. We'll see.
EDIT: Sorry to add to the off-topicness, just want to address this:
Aside from the TFA Primes and Universe UM (Who you said never brought), how many of these figures did you take back and have replaced?
guarddog8471
As do I. I don't usually buy the Henkei general release figures, but in this case I will.

I think I might by the Japanese release of Ratchet…..really looks alot better to me.

I just wish they would have done a remold to fix the depression head he has going

In his defense, you did say "since Beast Wars":
I agree.
And this is why I think that:
IMO, that's where the problem lies. I'm not saying there aren't QC issues. I've seen two TFA Blitzwing in local stores missing the cockpit right in their boxes (luckily, mine is ok); but as you say some are more sensitive to flaws, and others just don't care, don't feel the flaws as flaws or whatever else.
As an example, I just checked my TFA Ultra Magnus' face. I don't see paint chipping there, but I don't know if Neospark would.

Back in the before-time, when I was a young-un, this thread was about the Universe Ratchet toy.
Personally, I think this QC business is blown out of proportion on both sides. I believe the problems Neospark has listed, as I've seen them to some extent, but nowhere near that much. Based on my own experiences and those I've seen around the board, I'd call his experience atypical. Perhaps he's just unlucky, or more sensitive to flaws some people overlook. Maybe Hasbro's gunning for him for complaining so much. On the other hand, implying people are seeing problems where they don't exist is out of line too. Perhaps the issues are not as bad as it may seem due to the properties of internet information, but still they are well documented. I've dealt with the 'sticky paint' issue a few times myself, though I tend to just (try to) fix the problem rather than rage against it publicly.

Yup, you sure do. Knock yourself out.

…
neospark1
Two hands, as only have had very few problems (less than 10) all the way through Beast Wars. Try not to congratulate yourself too early on my supposed lack of intelligence.
Now as to your logic. So, you have had virtually no problems with any of your recent figures, so that automatically means that no one else does?
AniProwl
I want this.
Absolute
i've had no issue with sticky paint… maybe some of you are playing with them too rough or need to wash your hands
i'll be picking this up… i'll be using my henkei $ for smokescreen instead
Zaraxion1021
Looks somewhat okay to me……They could have changed something since it looks exactly like the Ironhide repaint! . For example, take out the thing in front of the bumpers. Change the gun/sword into something else. This is a FAILED Ratchet but still considering to want it……
QmTablit
LOL You have 15 fingers? Awesome.
Out of tens of thousands of figures produced, it's always two people crying that turns something that's not a problem into some kind of epidemic. Seriously. A few people have "sticky paint" on their Prowls and suddenly everyone gets plastic Munchousen's. It's ridiculous. People talk about how every Prowl and Bluestreak they buy has sticky paint… I've got 3 myself (1 Prowl, 2 'Streaks) and have no issue with them whatsoever. No figure I've had yet has had this "sticky paint" issue, and I'm sure that goes for plenty of other people as well.
So those "botched toys" of yours don't hold much merit with me. One in a hundred chance of error as far as I'm concerned. You talk about messed up paint apps like there are people who paint every figure by hand. Come on. Machines aren't infallible and it should be expected that not one figure of a run is going to come out 100% perfect. That just doesn't happen.
airfox
I'm leaning towars that one as well, though the lack of red on the universe version's hood on these newer pics may change that.
Still, I guess the reason I think the Henkei is superior in this instance is that it's a true homage to the cartoon. If the Universe version were a true homage to the comic (white crest, red helmet), I may think differently.
True. Another reason why Henkei's deco looks better IMO.
Is it true they have leftover allspark blue paint? Don't you think they should've ran out of it by now? After all it was widely used on the Allspark toys, while a darker blue (like in Universe Onslaught) should be plentyful due to the low use.

The missle for my Acid Storm's left arm is sooo lose if would take chewing gum to hold it in place.
Bumble Prime
ive had all the problems neospark1 has had
Teletran
bought 2 of this figure and didnt have that problem. still havent had it and its been months now
again, no problems on mine
left foot works fine, though i did get one of the bum chips. but then i dont much use sound chips anyway so no biggie. my only problem with onslaught is that i cant get his chest to connect into his tummy. but thats more a problem of me than anything i think
on the plus side, they did correct it
arms on mine fit fine. so i guess hasbros dodgy qc isnt as dodgy on all their toys. guess they know you dont like them so they ship them all to your area
*note: any figures not mentioned i dont have*
MagnusPrimal
Looks fine to me.
I'm not a huge fan of Ratchet anyway, so the colors don't bother me much.
Dinobot Nuva
Ratchet ships with Hotshot/Jolt in March. I'd assume if Drift is still coming out BEFORE the movie he'd ship in another wave with presumably Red Alert or somebody else between April and May before the movie product hits.
Railguard
Ratchet looks great!! I can't wait to get my hands on him but correct me if I'm wrong but didn't someone say that Drift was going to be released in the Universe line around the time Ratchet is? Pm me if you know the time and if he is being released, thanks a bunch!!
