Transformers Universe Chevy Aveo Swerve now available through Chevy's Online Store

The Chevrolet exclusive Universe Chevy Aveo Swerve is now available through the Chevrolet Store, priced $20 plus shipping (€12.80). As it is currently only available through the European store, shipping to the US may be a little on the expensive side, however this is a great chance to own this exclusive Autobot.

I'm gonna see about ordering one if it isn't uber expensive to ship it. Too bad my dad no longer applies for an employee discount.
Depthcharge
Do note that its available on the UK Chevy store and so for anyone in the US hoping to order one there will be a hefty shipping charge involved. Still cheaper than you'll get on ebay though so long as the US Chevy store doesn't end up selling them too.
Fort Max
Cool, thanks for the heads up.
That store ships worldwide too, I just ordered one for 21euros with standard ups shipping to the UK which is about £16.

Really, I can't even find a UK store on the chevrolet.co.uk page, wa sit much cheaper then what I just paid...
Soundblaster1
Just checked... After shipping it will be around $45, give or take. Too rich for my blood, especially since I can't get a discount of any sort even though I can get all the needed info for one.
Icespark
I'm hoping that Hasbro will release him in the Classics 2.0 line. That will make him a lot cheaper, not to mention far easier to obtain. Wasn't there a mention of a yellow version of this toy too?
SmF
Hahhaha so it ends up being on sale on the site themselves, I laugh at the ones who paid so much on eBay.
Depthcharge
I'm not sure what you guys were looking at but the currency conversion I saw changed the total from about 46 euros to 76 US dollars.
JOHNDILLINGA
according to my cell phone's currency convertor it should only be $15.24 before shipping so with shipping 41.67
Fort Max
When I opened the link that had been posted there was already 3 of these in the online basket. Anyone else get that?

How strange, thanks for letting me know. I've tried fixing it, is it working properly now?

Edit--I think it will work right now!

Yeah. I was thinking "wtf" then I re-calculated it.
It was 12.8 Euros for the figure, 16 Euros to ship it. Just double checked that.

According to xe.com, my assumption of $45 was damn near correct.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused here. This isn't actually a new Universe/Classics mold, is it? I thought this was one of the add-on figures designed for the Movie line...?
Omnibus Prime
What's this about a 35 Euro documentation fee on top of the international shipping? I was all set to push the button, but the lack of concrete total scared me off. I don't mind the international shipping charge since I was going to order two, but not if there's another $50 tacked on.

BTW, to make it real easy, the Euro is currently just over $1.50US. Just multiply everything by 1.5 to put it in rough dollars.

It's a promotional item that Hasbro made exclusively for Chevrolet, it's deluxe size or thereabouts. I doubt we'll see it in Universe, it's too generic looking not to mention having an actual car makers badge on it front & center.

What the criminey is with this shipping?! O_O

There is some sort of fee for shipping internationally (on top of the shipping cost) of 25 pounds which means an extra $50 USD on top of the cost of the figure and the shipping. I was about to order too til I saw that. It looks to be a 1 time only fee though so maybe if we can all get together to place one order we can save money.

No such fee was mentioned when I made my order, perhaps this is just for those outside of europe.

Here's what comes up when you tell 'em you want it shipped to the States:

We want to inform you that the cost and administration fee of € 35,00 will be charged to your credit card at the time of shipping. Charges for brokerage and duty (assessed by your government) will be collected at the time of delivery (we cannot give any estimates for these charges). These additional charges are often higher than the value of the ordered merchandise. Your freight will be based on the actual weight and dimensions of the box used for your order. Due to custom restrictions, product CANNOT be returned.

International orders ship via UPS International Express. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee delivery dates. If merchandise is held in Customs, we have no control on this.

Note: We cannot ship to a PO BOX. We must have a physical address.
Now..if you read that one way, it sounds like the €35 charge is a catch-all charge intended to more than cover shipping, customs and any other international shipping costs that will apply and the amount will be adjusted when that total is actually determined. Or it could just be "we're gonna charge an extra $50 on top of everything else to ship it to you damn Americans with your toys and your music."

Hm. I live in the U.K. and I am only paying 12.80 Euros (about £9.97) but you'll probably get yours before I do.
JOHNDILLINGA
yea I just seen that so it roughly comes out to 100.00 USD...

Canceled order before final acceptance.

Better off getting it off e-bay.
SMOG
Yeah, I was following the order process with the currency set to the British pound (which works out slightly cheaper, oddly enough).

But then, with a 25 GBP fee ON TOP??

A $50 "administration fee"??

Apparently they pay Richard Branson to lick the stamps personally. What complete and utter BS! Judging from the activity on this forum alone, I'm sure they're losing a tremendous amount of overseas business based on their "administrative fees".

But then for every sucker who pays the administration fee, he's just made up for 3 other people who were smart enough to realize that was too damn much to pay for a $10 toy.

Yeah, I think there's both a shipping charge AND a "documentation fee." I know it tacked on about another 35 euros after I clicked the place order button.

I did also get the weird shopping cart problem. I clicked add to cart once and ended up with 2 items. I haven't gotten an e-mail confirmation of the order yet but now you all have me worried that it maybe added another Swerve to my cart somewhere along the way.
ranoobu
clicking on the link to the store automatically put 50 of these buggers in my cart.

hilarious

I'll pass on these.. to rich for me too
Icespark
The link is still not working correctly? I'll try to fix it again.

Edit--Alright, I've re-added the link, as well as added a link to their front-page. I hope this works correctly now!

Why are people referring to this as a Classics/Universe figure?
Optimus Prime
Eh, that's a little expensive, even though they ARE exclusives and I like getting exclusive figures. I don't really like the Swindle mold anyway, so I don't think I'm missing out on too much.

We've seen a picture of his instructions. On them, he was listed as a Universe figure. Hasbro plans to class the Classics 2.0 line Universe in stores. Classics 2.0 is name that they just referred to it for simplicity. I hope that helps.

Optimus747, Swerve is a new mold. It is not a remake of Movie Swindle. Unfortunately, we don't know if Hasbro plans a mass release for this figure.
Nevermore
But his instructions used the old Universe logo, as in "crazy ugly repaints/discount stores exclusive repackages" Universe.

Really? I didn't remember that. Thanks for telling me! I wonder then what he would be classified as.
Bendimus Prime
Too rich for my blood. Plus, I'd bet money he'll show up in the states under the new Universe/Classics 2.0 line.

Yeah, looking at better pics it looks different. I thought it was a remold of Swindle, though, at the very least.

That would be nice.

So, he's part of the old school Universe line? Like, stemming from the 3H fanclub stuff, and not the new, inclusive Universe series that Classics was umbrella'd under? Not that it matters much; was just wondering how people knew what line to put him under.
Darkhawk79
Could I ask a huge favor of someone and have them buy one for me and i can paypal you the money right away to pay for it. I can't get it to load while i'm at work and i don't want to miss out.

Ordered mine, shipping was £12 for UPS standard.

Its all the same to me.

After I just finally caved and bought one on ebay for $115 shipped... that is life.

looks like we transformers fans crashed their server - trying to add the toy to the basket takes you to a "page cannot be displayed" screen.
timshinn73
I was almost checked out. Crashed.

for that kind of cabbage you could lease a real Aveo for a month. No thanks!
Railguard
I dunno, I'm tempted be I'm not sure. I'll have to check him out again.
clonemanager
yeah... me Crashed too.

what happened actually... it prompted me to enter the email address since my first one it said existed... WTF !!!

then I entered a secondary email in, and it crashed... I hope this is not a email spam collector.. damn.! screw that site !!

Mine says one in cart, but I never put anything in.

So in total this will be 45 shipped to the US huh? It's tempting, I mean I have paid similar amounts for other exclusives...
Icespark
The link still isn't working correctly? I thought I had it fixed that time. I guess it's time to try and make it work properly again.

Edit--I think the link is working properly. It seems the entire Chevy website is down. I can't even bring up the page! That might be why shopping carts are still being filled.

Edit Again--Alright, it seems that if a user heads to the site through the first link, the site automatically adds a Swerve to the shopping cart. If a user heads to the site through the second link, and uses the quick link, then the cart will remain empty. I'll try replacing the link again.
clonemanager
I am getting "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation." from the site...

Is anyone still able to make a successful order ?

Not the most I've spent on a deluxe. Just bought Wonderfest Arcee for like, $160 or some crazy money. But that's because I am an Arcee ho.
Ziero
I might have to hunt down a UK friend to buy this for me.

Do normally shipped items from overseas have a $50+ "administration" fee, or is that just Chevy sucking hard?

And I do hope we get something similar state side ._.
