Hardshell is awesome, he just needs a bit more distance from being just an insecticon other than yellow stripes. Maybe a bit more purple and a face mask.

I think he'll be doing more damage to Bulkhead based on the earlier promo clip. But yeah, the thought of having a mid-season break over a con who barely did anything would be funny. Come to think of it, how would David Kaye react to this?!

Well he (Hardshell) did get his butt kicked in that clip, so maybe Knock-Out has to do some modifications once Hardshell gets back to the ship?

We have more 11 episodes after 15, but we will have a break after this one. We don't know how long it will be but cartoons nowadays it will probably be like 3 to 4 weeks-ish.

Hardshell seems pretty cool, but he isn't displaying the insane acrobatic craziness as other prominent bugs. He should work on that XD

Nah, we haven't heard him say his promo quote yet. Chances are, there will be a second fight in store.

And round 2 is where Hardshell will supposedly use Knockout's Synthetic Energon to boost his chances of beating Bulkhead. I sure hope this will bid the return of SynthEn.

Don't you mean Hardshell? Knock-Out is busy playing Squash with the trains and hatin' on Soundwave while this is going down.

What I mean is he would somehow use Knockout's SynthEn formula. Or probably the relic itself is the one which will give him the power he needs.

Either way, the speculation on this one is so intense!

When was synthetic Energon being used in this episode ever mentioned? I don't recall ever reading that. Besides, I don't think Knock Out feels like helping Megatron out all that much at the moment if he even had it.

It seems unlikely that Synthetic Energon is even ready. If it were, why didn't Knock Out use hours earlier? He could have saved him safe a ton of scratches and an @$$ kickin' if had

That seems to confirm my suspicions about David Kaye. And something tells me it's gonna take a lot more than just knocking off one of his mandibles to bring this guy down for good. I imagine Bulkhead's going to have a nasty surprise waiting for him once he reaches the relic, whatever it may be.

Hope that's not the last of Hardshell. I'd love for the Insecticon model to be an actual character and not just cannon fodder.

Theory time. Possibly the Insecticons try out the SynthEn formula, each succumbing to its effects as if it's battery acid on steriods because the formula isn't refined under the guiding but flawed hand of Knockout, only to have one of them take to it better than the others. I'm guessing the Insecticon who blossoms under its effects is Hardshell, which then gives him the ability to tear Bulkhead a new one- hence him being thrown/jumping through the groundbridge back to Autobot HQ with a smoking crater where his chest should be.

This would help lend credence to the "Toxicity" title for this episode, as the formula doesn't work as hoped on some Transformers.

Except that it's implied that Hardshell already has some kind of established history of putting the screws to previous Wreckers from his lines, and we know Wreckers are (typically) in the same tough-as-nails category as Bulky. Still, I wouldn't mind if this theory held some water anyway.

Hhahaah, Knockout really does strike me as the jealous type, you know. Like, maybe not the kind to flat out cause problems right away, but rather the one who ends up getting a 2 parter on CSI after at least a season of built up frustration.

That really sounds like David Kaye. I must admitt I am disappointed that he's just voicing an Insecticon, even if Hardshell's a reoccurring character
