Thanks to our sister site Cybertron.Ca, we have our first sighting of the Transformers themed Kinder Surprise Eggs, which will feature a Transformers figure inside a piece of chocolate. The figures that you can collect are Bumblebee, Ratchet, Bulkhead, Arcee, Optimus Prime, Starscream, Soundwave, and Megatron all from the Transformers Prime universe. These were found at a Walmart in Manitoba. If you’re in the US and these are of interest to you, ask your Canada friends for the hookup as these will not be sold in US stores.
Check it out after the jump!

I'm in the market for a Generations Rattrap. If any American bros can get their on one, I'd be willing to trade a couple packs of Kinder eggs for it.

Yeah you should be able to do that. Just discard "or eat" the chocolate and discard the foil wrapper and it should be ok to import. Just declare it to be toys and you should be good to go.
Prime Aspect
It seems like it should be legal to buy the eggs, open them, remove the toys, and then sell the loose toys in the US, since they are no longer associated with the food.
Lazerwave
Can people at least buy the toys online and ship them to the states?
Bahamut Prime
I remember seeing them at my IGA too!
LegendAntihero
Isn't it a bit too early for Easter?
Fallout
because it's too hard to watch your kid to make sure they don't eat shit.
Nevermore
It was posted weeks ago, but only now it's news because they're out in Canada! Or something.

Seriously? That is such a huge knee jerk reaction.
I really don't get this ban at all. Especially since they're so delicious.
Triggerhappy
I found these in a UK Tesco the other day!

Heck, if I knew this was news, I'd have posted mine weeks ago.
The toys are cool/meh. The giant always-visible cog kind of ruins them for me, but if you can get past that, the sculpting is pretty good.
EDIT: Also, the actual factual reason they're banned in the US is to protect you guys from choking on the toys. Given my main point-of-reference for American dining habits is Man VS Food, I assume this is while throwing handfuls of the things in at once.
If something inedible is placed inside an item of food, it must be at least partially visible from the outside. The Law.

Don't bring them across the border (or be sneaky if you do). My friend tried to bring a box back into the US and the border patrol freaked out. My friend had no idea that they were banned and when they asked if he had anything to declare, he jokingly said, "Just a box of Kinder eggs." They acted like he was smuggling a kilo of coke or kidnapping a child or something. They searched him, his car, and confiscated the eggs.

Boo Canada BOO! We can't even get those eggs here in the US only the stupid mini bars.

They've been out here for a while, and many calories later I finally have the full set and an assload of spares…

Kinder eggs are Italian, but I've never had the chance to see these here in Italy. Just loads of Rio 2 themed eggs

They arrived in Australia a couple weeks ago too (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans…der-surprise-tfprime-figurines-australia.html), so are showing up everywhere now… after being released in Germany waaaay back in February.

Stupidity. There is the law that there should not be anything small enough for a child to eat and potentially choke on so if the part is too small, then it is illegal for sale. There was actually an article where two men were trying to bring it across the border and all of the eggs were seized HERE.
Lazerwave
I tried posting this yesterday.
Why are Kinder Surprises banned in the USA?
Russian fan
Here in Russia they're very popular among little fans My little niece collect all of them
