Las Vegas Licensing Expo is the San Diego Comic-Con for the businessmen. But that doesn’t mean the expo has to be dull and boring. On the contrary, it’s colorful as a mini SDCC.
At this year’s Expo one company has stolen the spotlight; Hasbro. Dubbed by the press as “The Master Transformer”, the company has presented its upcoming ventures including Transformers: Robots In Disguise and Angry Birds: Transformers. Though the event was held a month ago, it is only now that the Press and Media has started to reveal what was there at the Licensing Expo 2014.
We have received some images and information regarding Transformers: Robots In Disguise from the expo for you to have a look. The content is from a leaflet handed over at the Expo; highlighting the Exhibitors. The info includes:
- Theme of the Transformers: Robots In Disguise
- Licensed Apparel And Merchandise
- Toys
- Transformers: Angry Birds Game Info
- “The Transformers Effect”
You can read all about them, after the jump.
More news will come our way in less than a week’s time. Stick with TFW2005 for the best SDCC 2014 Transformers news coverage. Theme of the Transformers: Robots In Disguise
Our news post image comes from a billboard posted at the Licensing Expo. Titled as “One Team, One Mission“, it is speculated that this will be the theme of the Cartoon Series.
For those who missed the little snippet posted at Variety here it is…
“Show takes place years after “Transformers Prime,” when Bumblebee is summoned to save Earth from a new faction of Decepticons and assembles a rogue team of young Autobots that includes a rebel bad boy bot, an elite guard cadet, a bombastic Dinobot and hyperactive Mini-Con to capture their new enemies.”
With the success of Transformers 2007, the franchise expanded into a wide range of products. At the Licensing Expo, Hasbro showcased some of the Licensed Apparel and Merchandise for Transformers: Robots In Disguise.
Pictured above is an image which was on display at the expo featuring a boy wearing an RID T-Shirt and a Beanie Cap. However, we couldn’t find any images of actual apparels from the show floor since My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic licensed apparel and merchandise outshined other Franchise products.
ToysAh, the most important aspect of the Transformers Franchise. For this we seek the help of Ken Choy, who spoke with Hasbro Executives at the Expo.
Bryony Bouyer, Senior Vice President Global Promotions and Marketing Partnership stated, “A new Transformers TV series launching in the Fall of 2015 is going back to our heritage-Robots in Disguise. We tend to course correct. The toys got really got complicated so we simplified them. For the movie, toys will be one-step transformation and there are different ways of one-step transformation-you can spin them and flip them and they’ll transform. When you look at the movie, it’s a fluid motion. So if a kid is watching the movie, there’s an expectation that the toys will be like that.”
So, it seems as though the show will contain simpler transformation play pattern which took hold during the final days of Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters and continued throughout Transformers: Age Of Extinction.
Transformers: Angry Birds Game InfoBryony Bouyer continued, “Transformers is very serious, and the Angry Birds partnership definitely gave us the opportunity. We merge the characters together. For the first time in the game [the characters] can actually have a transformation. [As far as consumer products], the humor comes through on the words on the T-shirts and the way they walk and things you wouldn’t necessarily see in the movie.”
”The Transformers Effect”After visiting the expo, the media stated that other Toy Companies are now following the footsteps of Hasbro to create Movies, Cartoons and Licensed Material to support their toy brands; a phenomenon dubbed as “The Transformers Effect”. However, the press states that the one true “Master Transformer” is Hasbro.

…And now I'm sad.
K.O. better appear.
Seriously.
I will be so sad if he doesn't.
Shatterpoint
Except he is officially confirmed as Sideswipe
RubyTheMaster
It's not Sideswipe, guys. (Spoilers for Prime.)
Guys, are you serious? Everyone's saying the red guy is Sideswipe. No! This is a sequel to Prime! It's
Wild Eevee
Love the Rescue Bots banner, could someone get a better picture of it,if possible? Thank you.
emoo
Did they really have to give Bee a prime helmet just to show he is in charge now? I was thinking off watching this but those designs and summary of the characters I think I'll pass
Ironfire1234
I mean just from animation and that catchphrase it seems to geared to 4 and 5 year olds 6-10 year olds are kid fans and it seems to young for them. hopefully it has primeesque animation. then it might be good. but we haven't seen much so we don't know yet

Can't help it… when I look at Bee as pictured… I see Terry McGinnis…..not a bad thing.
Hollywood Hoist
I'm fine with others opinions. Some of the rational for hating it is so beyond ridiculous. It's the notion that people would rather be no show then one they don't like.
Killer Life
We don't even know what the show friggin looks like outside of those 3 character models.
Seripa
it's to soon, but I like the animated thing in this new design, I hope we get all the Bee team in the SDCC
Hollywood Hoist
Please put up pictures of TF's your four year old has done. I would like to see them. Unless of course you're just being sarcastic in which case I will now question everything I read on the internet.
Hollywood Hoist
I agree with everything you said. Look at the shelves for MLP versus TF's (pre AOE), MLP doesn't even have a big block buster film to push product. Companies will license popular franchises, it may be that as much as we love TF's it's just not the huge cash cow that MLP is.
Hollywood Hoist
And any Casablanca reference makes me instantly happy.
Autovolt 127
I haven't seen Akibaranger but that comparison is a far more flattering and not the absolute worst thing ever.
nikkistyles
G1 and Prime are the only animated related shows that were any good.
ahchu
Hopefully they just stop producing toys that don't transform…
griffn29
You thought the characters from animated looked like they belonged in a gay porno fan comic?
redx643
This better be the return of cyberverse
NotRamjet97
Maybe it's cuz FiM's a better cartoon?
Maybe it's cuz it and LPS are the only cartoons Hasbro has that do well right now?
Or…maybe it's even because it HAS MORE CLOTHES CUZ ITS BEEN ON LONGER, while the new series HASN'T EVEN STARTED?
primal789
Agreed.Well,it's just our opinion.I had the same opinion about Animated
