I would like to see that episode if that would happen.
Besides if any of us takes the word "Triangulation" seriously the artifact can be some kind of "measuring or
surveying device", beside I think Optimus will be stuck between a rock and a hard ball.
I don't think Dreadwing will be a turn coat just yet, it's a little too soon.
(But I've been wrong before.)
Grimlockimus
I wonder if Dreadwing will get a new name if he's to switch sides. DREADwing doesn't really sound heroic, but then again, Blackarachnia didn't either.
And it is about time the Autobots got some air support.
But with the death of Breakdown and possibly Airachnid in the future, we need to be getting some new characters soon, or I fear we'll start loosing interest. We know the stories behind all of the characters except maybe Soundwave, but we need someone new to explore.
Insecticons don't count, unless they learn to talk and get named Bob
Dark Neptune
As a new model is expensive, re-using models is understandable to save costs and I see an opportunity for a new Autobot to join the cast. Could be another car like Sunstreaker or Sideswipe, using CJ's model. I mean seriously, That model was only used in like what, 3 episodes? (DR Part 1, 2 and as Tailgate). Kinda of a waste don't you think? Sure WJ has only 2 episodes featuring his model, but at least he ain't dead. Or like seriously, I don't get why the writers would feel that if they made SW or TC he has to have a different show model from SS. Waste of money and besides, both have always been SS repaints.
Like all others said a above, a good show is about to introduce new characters, and the old "core" cast still has characterization development. New complements the old and vice versa, just like WJ's and BH's buddy relationship.

The humans are just as much the focus of the show as the transformers. They wouldn't have so much screen time if they weren't.
MightySnorlax
Can't be. He exists in this continuity already through the novels and game.
Though, if not for that, I could have seen it working on some levels.

Dreadwing =
?

Oh I agree Kaiju. Introducing characters isn't the only way to develop an old character. And introducing too fast can be harmful to the writing as well. A well balanced pace is needed.
To be fair Prime is no where near as toyetic as some past seasons. No gimmick like the Unicron trilogy. And characters aren't introduced simply because they're on the shelf that month and at a rate so fast the writers can't handle it. There's no Armada Overload here. Not even a chance of it happening. Chances are it won't be like Beast Wars where Hasbro ordered characters be added and killed at the drop of a hat interrupting the writing process either.
And I want to make it clear. I am not saying that Prime doesn't exist to sell toys. It most certainly does. It's just that it's much less chained down creativity-wise by the toyline then some past seasons. The fact that we've seen characters die before they even have toys on the shelf is proof of that.
Animated was similar in that respect. Pushing the toys was important, but it never really seemed to get in the way of what the show could and could not do.

Naw, the sleeper would quite obviously be Skids.

I like Arcee, Knockout, Starscream, Bumblebee, Breakdown, the Vehicons, Soundwave, Jack, June, Dreadwing, Skyquake, Cliffjumper, Wheeljack, Silas and Fowler.
I don't like Optimus, Megatron, Miko, Raf and Ratchet.
Bulkhead, Unicron, Tailgate and Makeshift are just okay.
So no.
MTME
PLEASE let me know what you are talking about,
I'm not trying to be an ass
I seriously haven't heard anything so I'd like to know what has been said out there
Hypershock
anyone who complains just based on the sparse wording of the teaser needs to shut up and wait for the episode, then you'll see exactly how good it will be. None of the episode synopses so far have been any indication as to whether a new character will appear or not. And i know i'm right cuz i checked. Then if we get new characters and they get development, people will complain that miko raf and bumblebee got left behind. If we dont get new characters, then the show is condemned for having a small cast. that's why they want to shake things up, that's why they have certain things planned for certain characters, because they know that unless something dynamic happens they will cease to be interesting, case in point with raf miko and bumblebee. Truth be told i paid no attention to bee until this season's two parter about him; not just because it was about him, but because he actually began to emote and have development. If you've seen my past posts, you know im all about having new characters, especially ones that rhyme with 'Zironhide' but i need to have some resolution with who we have first. It's not hard at all to give new characters development, in fact it's way too easy to focus on the new guy and forget about people you've had for a full season or more, it's the curse of a big cast.
i think the word you're looking for is legitimize. and you're right, they played the switch-sides thing up bigtime

You are just a ray of sunshine aren't you…Its like you hate half the cast.
Seriously lets just let whoever is left after the big fight in Armada get some characterization so people can get a glimpse at who they are so we have a connection to them, then lets bring in the new guys. And seriously this Prime is awesome, he has several defining moments…I mean he could be Hippie Prime from Beast Machines or worse Bay Prime.
soundwaverulls
Well if it keeps us from getting something as little as three characters each side, I like it. They probably would have gone with what we have now anyway but you never know what they'd do if Hasbro let them run wild.
seekerblackout
Tony Todd was talking to one person. Doesn't seem like he'd bother lying.
Optimus1116
Maybe Starscream and Dreadwing will want to join, since it's "TRI"-angulation.
Sideways77
I forgot about those statements.
But I hope they're pulling a Michael Bay and lying. All these Decepticons leaving the Decepticons is ridiculous.
Sinnertwin
Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy the fiction as well, but the toys are half the fun.
ErbFan28
Yeah, Grill almost confirms it….well, kinda anyway
seekerblackout
Except his voice actor hinted that he isn't on either faction.
