By way of Zap2it, we have the title of the season finale of Transformers Prime Season 2. It’s been an interesting journey getting to this point, and on 2 November 2012, Season 2 of Transformers Prime will end with the Darkest Hour! Yes, the season ends with an episode titled for another famous quote from Transformers lore. There is no description up – yet – but it’s an ominous portent for what lies ahead.
We’ve got four more episodes of Transformers Prime to enjoy between now and then – listed below for your convenience – including the new episode Hard Knocks tonight then further new episodes every Friday between now and 2 November 2012, when we will witness Transformers Prime’s Darkest Hour (and then the slightly less dark hours of the wait for season 3 to begin airing!)
Upcoming Transformers Prime Episodes
Tonight! 10/05 Hard Knocks
10/12 Inside Job
10/19 Patch

Light our darkest hour.
Seriously, it's 2:00 AM. It's dark, and I forgot to turn on the lights in the other room.

Or maybe they'll appear at the start of season 3 to resolve the cliffhanger in the final episode of this one. I find either of those possibilities more likely if, infact the forbodingly titled Darkest Hour closely follows the previous episode and does infact take place on Cybertron as well.
Having watched this week's episode however, my initial thought was that perhaps in this episode, the Autobot's base is compromised or openly attacked. Fancifully pursuing this idea to the most grim conclusions, if the Decepticos attacked the Autobot base in full force with their ship, the US military might try to deploy a nuclear weapon into the whole mess. That scenario was not only used in the recent Avengers film but also in both Dreamwave's and IDW's Transformers comics. Then again, that idea might be a bit overdone now. And as I insinuated above, this was just me taking one point from this weeks episode and running with it to the extreme.
I'm simply suggesting that the Autobot base being compromised in some way seems as possible at this point as any other event deserving of the season finale's title. Perhap's we'll know more on how valid this idea is when the Decepticons try and get what they can out of Smokescreen, one way or another.

Seasons seem short? How many episodes in other ones?

Yeah; thinking about it, and about Shockwave as he's been portrayed recently, Cybertron's always been his number one priority – before Megatron, before the Decepticon cause.
I can't see Prime straying from this given how going off all the Aligned fiction to date, they've made this aspect of Shockwave pretty clearly entrenched. It just makes me wonder where he ended up at the end of "Out of the Past". As honestly, if he didn't die or get trapped somewhere in spacebridge hell, he must have found SOMETHING big enough to keep him on radio silence from both factions.
Pleasepleaseplease let Prime S2's ending have the same emotional hit I got when S2 of ReBoot ended.

This shit better be true.

if there are invisible aliens in it, i'm done, lol

Going to guess that "Darkest Hour" will eventually wind up being that A) Either the keys are destroyed… or B) They do something to destroy Cybertron despite the keys rebooting the planet.

Yeah sorry guys for not posting sooner. I conduct the interviews in the moment, and barely retain the info. Glad ppl are listening to it. It was a blast talking with Melching.

If she's going to die it should be near the end of the show. I mean the thought of her being dead before then doens't make sense. I mean aside from Smokescreen none of the other Autobots seem to be have the makings to be the main Autobot next to Optimus.
Jetbolt
Never know, she could try to make up for her going off on Smokescreen and is killed by trying to do so. Would really be one of those unexpected deaths the series has a history of, like Breakdown's death for example.
Stardust262
If only they'd kill off Bumblebee
kaijuguy19
I hope the whole new setting's about a new base of operations and not Autobot deaths. If there is it better not be Arcee.
Jetbolt
Possible Autobot deaths?
Oberoniss
"whole new setting"
Oh, shit.

^^^ Just read this in the Prime forum too…covering all the bases.
Hmmmm….don't like the sound of this.

-From the sounds of it, the writers do alot of research of wikis. TFwiki.net I assume
-Also, we haven't seen the last of SynthEn.
-The way Melching is talking, it almost seems like he would be content with season 3 being the finale because they went into the series knowing how they wanted to end. Apparently season 3 ends that well. That's just what I got out of it. He couldn't confirm anymore seasons
-Darkest Hour: Season 2 doesn't end well for Team Prime. He said we will go into season 3 wondering how the Autobots get out of whatever happens at the end of season 2. It's probably going to end on a cliffhanger.
-He talked about the fans always saying they end each episode returning to the status quo. He probably reads the boards
-Season 3 will have a whole new setting(no status quo)
I'm getting all this from the interview
Sideswipe80
There's 2 Autobots I hope bite it.
