Would be nice to get a new character in this episode... for once. Of course by new I don't mean a reuse of an existing characters CGI model, but a WHOLE-NEW-NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN- (in Prime that is)-CHARACTER!!

I'm betting for this one, though. They had to bring back Synth-En since Knockout acquired a smidgen of it.

It would also be nice if people stopped screaming for new characters every week, and let the show put telling stories well ahead of selling toys, which has always been its stated goal.

C'mon though, there's at least some modicum of 'fan-wank' (as people call it) associated with this property. I'm not saying every episode we need a new guy, but traditional cell animated shows are much less stingy. Take Young Justice for instance. They just introduced a whole slew of new blood in their 'Invasion' arc and it's ultra satisfying, like a shot in the arm. Again, not saying Prime needs to follow suite en masse, but new characters are very important in ensuring vitality, and with the voluminous roster of characters available in the Transformers universe it's a virtual crime not to bring in a few new ones every now and again.

I think the return of Synthetic Energon seems to be most likely at the moment.

Did anyone else see the skull next to "Transformers Prime" and think "Season 3 has been cancelled!!?"

We just got Wheeljack back so his presence is new.
The Decepticons got Dreadwing –but oh noes! He’s the same character model as Skyquake.
And we have all those Insecticons –but wait, they share a character model too so they can’t be counted either.
That’s a shame, too, because there’s a thousand of them.

It’s like the de facto argument for season 1 was ‘Miko, Miko, Miko…’ and it was kind of valid.
But now the show is done with the whole ‘Miko runs headlong into danger’ plot device so every single episode people complain that there’s no new characters.

So want the description now... can't say anything else until then.

Which would be fine if Prime's production wasn't saddled with the budgetary, technological, and chronological limitations it will forever face.

You'll see new characters...here and there. That's about all we can hope for.

I would much rather have the stories we have now than a huge cast of characters.
Imagine the complaints when someone's favorite character gets three lines of dialog across 7 episodes.

I prefer it this way.

The skull usually symbolizes poison (Synth-Energon or Airachnid's sting) or something other than that, certain "relationships" are considered toxic.

Seripa: There a couple of good songs out there with the word "toxic", heavy metal or from Britney S. any way, we'll see what happens with this episode.

Hm, I smell Synth-En in the kettle either that, or the Nemesis is suffering some side-effects of being shot full of DE (sure it got flushed, but it could still have lingering side-effects), but my money is on either Synth-Energon, or Airachnid breaking out and going on a killing spree. (or maybe cybonic plague.)

And for all those screaming for new characters every week:

Stop. Now.

It isn't going to happen, making completely new characters takes time and resources that hte show's production team just doesn't have. Besides, we have Wheeljack, Dreadwing, the I-cons, and now confirmation of Shockwave, who some of you have been screaming for since mid-way through season 1.

That should be enough for this season.

Wow this show continues to amaze me how much their not gonna go for a summer break.

I have to agree with the Synth-En plot for that episode. Though it would be interesting to see side effects on the ship from the Dark Energon.

I agree with Stygian. They have been "telling stories" for what, 36 episodes now? Those stories are starting to get mucho stale since they involve substantially the same cast that started the show. I agree with the comments other posters have made regarding the constraints that the show faces, but come on! Throw us a freakin' bone here. I'm not asking for 10 new characters in on episode or anything, but there needs to be a couple of bots added to each side (especially the autobots).

Oh, and make not mistake about it. Selling toys is Hasbro's "stated goal". Always has been. Always will be. Shockwave can't get here soon enough. Ditto Ultra Magnus and Rumble (if they are even in the show....).

The synthetic energon explanation sounds good, but if these four episodes DO take place at the same time, then we already know Knock Out will be occupied in the big apple.

I'm just amazed we haven't had a single break yet. Kudos to the production and animation teams for getting it right this season.

The Syn-thin theory is sound, and it's possible too, if Knockout fails sooner than he wished, he could jump back to the ship, fear his punishment for failing, and use the good stuff to try and redeem himself at the next Iacon relic.

OR, just a thought.

The Relic could always be stored on that plague ship we saw awhile back, or the relic itself is a chemical warfare device.
