Thanks to a listing on Amazon.com, we now have a confirmation that Shout! Factory will be releasing the second season of Transformers Prime on Bluray on November 6th. There are no images at this time, but there is a description listed on the product page.
Unicron is defeated but what was thought to be the end of the Autobots’ darkest hour is actually proving to be just the beginning! The centuries-old war pitting Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) and his team of heroic Autobots alongside their most trusted human allies-Jack, Miko, Raf, and Special Agent Fowler (Ernie Hudson Ghostbusters)-against Megatron (Frank Welker) and his nefarious Decepticons rages on coming to a boldly exciting climax you absolutely have to see to believe! It’s a brand-new season of the Emmy Award-winning series Crave Online calls the show “die-hard fans have always wanted.Staff Edit: Amazon.com has sent notice that the estimated release date has been pushed back to early December.

Quick, someone tell the Fastest Fictional Car people at Forbes! Hhaa, this is good news, I had a vage notion of something much later – into the new year at least, when the news was posted that the release date would be pushed back.
If the dvd/blu ray release was pushed back because of production delays, I'm fine with that, going by the lush quality we're seeing in stills from upcoming episodes. Nevertheless, in Australia, Madman will probably release this in the new year sometime.

I feel like I can guess which characters will be featured on the Season 3 case.

Not the greatest cover art, but at least it's something original, as opposed to a collage of stock character pieces.
And I'm guessing there'll probably be at least a few commentaries, but those special features listed already sound pretty interesting.

I dunno, makes me think that Prime and Megs will have a showdown on the Nemisis in the season finale.

can't wait, but wow that is some uninspired cover art…

There's a small possible spoiler in that description

Preordered the DVD from amazon.com. Cannot wait to see these episodes!

I got this as well, and I am not surprised in the least. Oh well, I can rewatch the season over Christmas.
chaddi_90
Has the season ended?
Scantron
Just got this from Amazon…
So there will be a bit of a gap between the end of the season and the DVD/BR release after all.
Shockwave9227
Hell no I'm not buying this.
Bountyan
It'll need to have commentary for me to even consider a purchase. Season 2 has too many episodes I dislike for me to buy it otherwise.

Goody.
Still can't find S1 on blu-ray, but oh well..

I would love for TF: Prime to go beyond 3 seasons. "IF" season 3 is a full 26 (and not a shortened 13), then that would bring the episode count up to 78 and be the undisputed second longest running TF series ever. I know a lot of fans that lump BW & BM together, but I do not. One is the continuation of the other, but they are very much different series in their own right.
I would love for Prime to get a 4th season, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. They have barely scratched the surface of what stories could be told. There are literally hundreds of pre existing Transformers characters, TF: Prime has given us less than 20 so far.
*Edit*…??OK as of this morning, the release date has changed to 11/27?? 3 weeks later than announced last friday, but still pretty good all things considered.

I know they said they wanted it to last for awhile, though I don't recall them saying a specific amount of time
What would be really cool would be if they didn't use any of the current cast at that point. Maybe have Override leading the Autobots in the show, or Ransack or Scourge leading the Decepticons

I'm thinking this because I thought Hasbro said they wanted the Alligned continuity to last the rest of the decade.
