That's...a rather quick turn around for a season that isn't done yet.

Episodes start back up this month. We're probably looking another stretch of episodes.

Gimme!!! I want it now!

If they air all remaining 11 episodes without interruption they're going to be done by November 2! That's actualy one of the closest final airing to season release Blu-Rays I've seen.
General Tekno
Wow. That's FAST.

Can't wait.
REMINATOR
Considering how I got burn with TFA with no S3 on DVD, I shall wait when they release the complete boxset of Prime. Otherwise, yeah that was fast that Prime S2 hits blue ray.
Paladin
Assuming this gets a regular DVD release too, I'm fine with it.

Fortunately, it's not CN handling the DVD releases for Prime.

And Shout! Factory evidently has a commitment to do the Blu-Ray sets, given they're doing another one. They must sell well enough.
Autovolt 127
That was faster than Blurr.
Transbot90210
That's fast, and here we are waiting for the season to end.

It's already bought in my mind so release away folks.

Indeed. Conventional marketing wisdom seems to be to schedule the DVD/Blu-Ray release of one season to roughly coincide with when the next one is about to air, so that they can cross-promote each other.
Backpack
It's nice to hear, even expected. The real test is getting the final season (when ever that happens) on Blu ray (or even dvd for that matter).

Not to be huge downer, but I fear for the whole enterprise.. Prime (show and toyline), and the HUB it's self. The HUB is limited in the viewers it can reach, which is not only bad for the channel, but any toyline it promotes via it's programing. I have honestly all but lost interest in collecting the Prime line due to lack of anything new being on shelves. It's a real drag to have to resort to online stores and ebay to collect what is a Mainline. That just takes all the fun out of collecting, and is considerably more expensive. Not to mention really bad for Hasbro's bottomline.
Scorpio
Mmh, with the mention of Unicron in the description i doubt he`ll turn up again for the series 2 finale. By the sounds of things with the relics we shall most likely have Optimus and Megatron fighting each other while empowered by all of the relics or something along those lines.

Its a shame though. With TF4 arriving in 2014 the third series of TF;Prime will probably be the last and i doubt they shall do a new series as the wait between TF;4 and TF:5 would probably be 2 years or so.

They wont want the Prime series airing at the same time as the planned movie verse so expect the end of TF;Prime to be either series 3 or if we are lucky maybe a fourth and final series... but i doubt it will survive the effects of the Bayverse

Basically;

TF; Prime - 2011-2013
TF4; 2014
TF5: 2016
TF6:2018
HnH
blerrrrrrrrrrrghh another thing that wont get to europe...
Starscream NZ
Are we forgetting the fact that no TF series in the Western world has exceeded three seasons? (The Rebirth not really counting as that was only 3 episodes).

I don't expect Prime to be much different. The writers already seem to be running out of ideas so quite possible that we'll see Prime wrap up and a new show after TF4.
Scantron
Excellent, preordered the Blu-Ray set. Definitely surprised this is coming out so fast; wasn't expecting it until next spring.

NormanB
The price on S1 dropped pretty quickly after release. Might wait and see how this pans out.
kaijuguy19
This is a sweet suprise! I was expecting next year but this is awesome! Definatly going to get this!
Deska
So, 2th season will be completed in November...

Really looking forward to this. I hope prime lasts at least 4 or 5 seasons.
Fairlady_Z
Preordered! Yes!
Chris McFeely
Boy, that's like the week after the season finishes airing!
Avengers
I'll buy this at target or walmart.
LamboTwinLove
Awesome!! I'm glad they're doing it so quick. They want to make those X-mas dollars.
Wheeljack_Prime
The week after? Cool beans.

It would so tickle me pink if they released the season 3 set the week before S03E26 airs.
SouthtownKid
You know, I've thought a lot about what I'll do when this day finally comes around. I did buy season 1 on Blu-Ray. But after all this time, I still have yet to rewatch all of the season 1 episodes. More than half of season 1, I have only watched once, back when the first season was airing. And I haven't really felt like revisiting them.

I'm glad Shout Factory continues to put this show on BD, because the fans deserve it. But I think I may actually skip this unless the rest of the second season picks up in a major way.
TFPrimeReborn
Definitely picking this up! I have season 1 DVD, in my iPad and iPhones.
Robogeek28
A November release?!?

Fantastic!
O.Supreme
Wow that is quick. It will probably be on Netflix as well I'm guessing within the same timeframe (before end of November)

Or they continue the continuity with other characters in other parts of the universe like Velocitron or Junkion.

I'm thinking this because I thought Hasbro said they wanted the Alligned continuity to last the rest of the decade.

I know they said they wanted it to last for awhile, though I don't recall them saying a specific amount of time

What would be really cool would be if they didn't use any of the current cast at that point. Maybe have Override leading the Autobots in the show, or Ransack or Scourge leading the Decepticons
O.Supreme
I would love for TF: Prime to go beyond 3 seasons. "IF" season 3 is a full 26 (and not a shortened 13), then that would bring the episode count up to 78 and be the undisputed second longest running TF series ever. I know a lot of fans that lump BW & BM together, but I do not. One is the continuation of the other, but they are very much different series in their own right.

I would love for Prime to get a 4th season, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. They have barely scratched the surface of what stories could be told. There are literally hundreds of pre existing Transformers characters, TF: Prime has given us less than 20 so far.

*Edit*...??OK as of this morning, the release date has changed to 11/27?? 3 weeks later than announced last friday, but still pretty good all things considered.

Goody.

Still can't find S1 on blu-ray, but oh well..
Bountyan
It'll need to have commentary for me to even consider a purchase. Season 2 has too many episodes I dislike for me to buy it otherwise.
Shockwave9227
Hell no I'm not buying this.
Scantron
Just got this from Amazon...

Hello,

We're writing about the order you placed on August 17, 2012 (Order# 103-9589201-3657824). Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below has changed, and we need to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date:

Peter Cullen, Sumalee Montano "Transformers Prime: Season 2 [Blu-ray]"
Estimated arrival date: December 03, 2012 - December 07, 2012
So there will be a bit of a gap between the end of the season and the DVD/BR release after all.
chaddi_90
