BoUGHT BOUGHT BOUGHT

but why is the Bluray double the dvd price? That is either a mistake on one of the prices or just dumb.

Must. Own. NOW.
SouthtownKid
Good, finally. But I'm going to have to wait to see what kind of price online vendors like amazon will be offering for the Blu-ray set. I've been one of the people saying the show needs to be released in HD, but honestly, $65 is just not happening for me. If amazon can shave $15 or so off that, I can probably justify that.
Robogeek28
The complete season.

Goddammit!!

Ah well, I didn't need that $10 I spent on Tuesday anyway.

You can almost bet on it being on sale the week it comes out, lets say $50 at Best Buy, Target or even Amazon.
Lumpy

I seriously hope that BLU-RAY price is wrong. Talk about highway robbery for what you get, geez! Sadly though, I will probably buy it at that price.
kylash327
at least the Darkness Rising on this will probably be separate episodes vs the movie edite on the current DVD. Still kind of a double hit..
Axelle
No way in hell I'm ever going Bluray, but the DVD set is an instant pre-order.
Megatronwp38
Well looks like I will be waiting to buy TF Prime until this comes out.

Too bad, it's like staying with VHS over DVD.

Bought in an instant!!

Glad to see Shout! Factory getting continued business from Hasbro after they handled the G1 and other retro stuff so well.

Because it comes with a graphic novel.

Too true, and at some point in the not so distant future, it will be the only option...along with other 3D/HD inventions sure to come.

Mine is already pre-ordered.

Eh, unlike VHS, we'll probably still have the option to play DVDs until optical drives go completely extinct.
kaijuguy19
As Cyborg from Teen Titans would say..."BOOYAHHHHH!!!!!!!!" So I guess I will wait for the season 1 box set after all!!!!!

Not really. It's just pointless IMO. I see no difference in HD quality with 99% of what I watch(Prime is actually the only thing I can honestly say looks better in HD) and I don't own an HDTV or Bluray player anyway(nor will I ever).
Shockwaved
Please be released in the UK, Please be released in the UK, Please be released in the UK, Please be released in the UK, Please be released in the UK, Please be released in the UK.

That's a fairly bold statement. Won't be long until all TV's/media devices will only support Blu-Ray and whatever supersedes that. Can almost guarantee you'll eventually be forced to upgrade.
Stygian360
Been waiting for this set to premiere for what seems like forever (but which in reality is probably only a few months). Glad to see it announced finally! Kinda sucks we won't see it until near (or after) the start of Season 2, but better late than never.

Not going blu-ray though. Recently watched the regular DVD version of the 5-part Darkness Rising and everything seems sufficiently gorgeous and just the right level of CGI detail for my eyes. No need to go ultra, extreme, and no-holds barred blu-ray just to get extra resolution. Well, at least not for $25 bucks more!!
The F.N.G.
Full season release and a bonus comic?

MaxxieOD
Already reordered the bluray for $45 from Amazon! Can't wait!

Blarg. I'd sooner quit buying movies and shows altogether. I still have yet to finish upgrading a lot of my VHS collection. No way I'm starting over from scratch again. @_@

Lovely. Hope it works on my UK PS3.

Shout! Factory? No chance of a UK release then.

Players won't stop supporting DVDs until they no longer have optical drives.

The real problem is TVs no longer having the SD jacks with which to hook up an older DVD player, which is already starting to happen.

There will be a point where DVDs completely phase out. But by the time that happens, Bluray and HDTVs will be dirt cheap.
Karhukjnsi
What I'm not seeing is how many episodes it comes with, I want to know if the Darkness Rising five-part "Mini-Series" is included in their definition of "Complete First Season".
General Tekno
Yep. The Blu-Ray is a definite purchase.

...which makes me think I need to marathon Clone Wars sometime. I have all the Blu-Ray releases, but I have yet to actually watch the disks.

You're not reading the article closely enough then. It clearly says both "26 episodes" and "including the 5-part miniseries Darkness Rising".

Already front paged and I've pre-ordered mine

I wonder if the graphic novel that's going to be included with the Blu Ray version is the prequel comic that featured Arcee and Cliffjumper?
