Rumble-Head-and-Chest-Closeup
For your enjoyment tonight we have a new Transformers toy gallery! Here for you now we have our very own gallery of Transformers Prime Rumble! Decepticon Rumble is a part of the new Wave 5 assortment along with Sergeant Kup. Rumble is a great little toy, transforming from a compact car to a robot with some really beefy upper arms. To go with the looks, Rumble's got some great poseability - a full range of motion in the head and excellent leg articulation, with only the shoulders being somewhat limited by the way they tend to catch on part of the backpack. His accessories - twin piledrivers / guns are also rather cool, fitting neatly over the hands and capturing both the feel of the Transformers Prime "hands turn into arms" style and the Generation 1 original's own "arms turn into piledrivers".

All in all, a toy I can heartily recommend when it gets released at US retail, and we just might have some good news on that front for you later on. For now, open the link below to check out the gallery and read on to check out a full review!

DecepticusPrime
Found and bought him today. I'm at work so I don't have a receipt on me...its in my car. Found at walmart in waverly Iowa but I grabbed the only one
Omega Charge
Had these been spotted in the US yet?
Nice find, you should post some pics.

I just got him recently too. Loads of pics done and uploaded for your enjoyment right here:

Rumble is a cool little Decepticon. He transforms into a compact car which I feel is just slightly inspired by the Honda Civic, which you can see when you compare him side by side with the Alternators Rumble in vehicle mode:

Transformers Prime Rumble with Alternators Rumble Vehicle Mode

Vehicle mode is solid, everything pegs in securely and there's no obvious gaps beyond the seams for transformation. It's a cute little car mode, I like the tinted red windows and the Decepticon symbols on the front and back bumpers. Only thing is though the car mode really is tiny. There's two sockets to mount the weapons in vehicle mode, and I like the fact that the peg holes have been made to look like the caps on a gastank. Pretty nice!

The transformation is straightforward - the car's hood forms the legs, and there's a pretty cool step in there with the front grill. The arms form out of the rear portion of the car and the roof, with the car doors folding up onto the back. A nice touch is a molded detail on the inside of the car doors which resembles the guns on the back of the original Rumble and his various homages.

Robot mode is a solid little toy. He's decently poseable, though the shoulders are a bit limited because of the car doors on the back of the robot mode. Because of this you are a bit limited in what you can do with the arms, but you can still get a lot of really nice poses out of Rumble. Special mention should go to Rumble's head, which has full side to side and also up-down movement.

Rumble's build as mentioned has a lot of bulk in the arms giving him the feel of a brawler, which is hammered home by his weapons. Rumble's weapons can pass as guns but they also double up as piledrivers, and have some cool molded detailing on them like springs. They attach over the hands of the robot, creating the feel of the "arms transform into weapons" from the Prime TV show, which is ironic considering the original Rumble did much the same in the Generation 1 cartoon.

A word of warning though as regards the paint - I found on mine a little of the black paint on the inside of the fists had rubbed off from putting the guns on. It is not a huge issue for me, but for those demanding perfect paint on their toys you are going to want to bear this in mind. I'm also not sure if this is limited to mine or going to be a common flaw, but the paint on the rear spoiler also rubbed off a little on the edge. Again not something that bothers me but it is something that can be checked for in the store if your preference is for absolutely perfect paint.

Here's a couple of robot mode pictures:

A cool feature in the robot mode is that you can also store Rumble's guns in the sockets next to his hips, or on the backs of his shoulders. You can also peg other weapons under the barrels of Rumble's own guns.

All in all, Rumble is a fantastic little Transformer. He's a good release in the Transformers Prime line if you can get over the small size of the car mode - he feels a bit bigger in robot mode with those big arms. He's a lot of fun to play about with, I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a cool little car Transformer.

As one last bit of fun, the "chest face" look on this one seems to borrow from the popular Gainax anime Gurren Lagann, so here's Rumble next to one of the chest-faced mecha of that series

Please check out the gallery for even more pics!

I'm at work now but if I can get a receipt pic up later do I get a news cred? :-) I picked up Kup too but sorta regret it
DecepticusPrime
Hey Sol have you noticed the legs don't like to come together well and always has to stand with them spread? I found that turn the waist around d and the knees around so the wheels face inside lets the legs come together better
Sol Fury
Yeah, the bumper halves are good at keeping the legs from doing a "standing at attention" pose, but given the upper body bulk I wasn't too worried. I'll try the leg thing sometime - how do you clear the solid plastic at the front though?
DecepticusPrime
Not well, the first time the waist popped out altogether...luckily a ball joint. but when going back to normal, I did manage to get it twisted without coming apart.
Snake_eyes1975
Looks cool. I def get a brawler vibe from him.

Just looks cheap.

Missing movie stuff....
Thenames9
Is it me or does Rumble look a lot like Animated Bumblebee in vehicle mode, especially with the launchers/boosters on the side?

Good gravy, you're right!

There is something very Animatedesque about his whole design though.

What's up with the flap behind Kupperhide's head?

That seems to be as far as it will fold down, unless I'm missing something. Which I might be in fairness. I'll play with him some more before I do his photoshoot.
Paradigm-Shift Prime
Where'd the car windows go???

Oh wait there they are...
Ayleron
Maybe the whole back assembly rotats and it hangs by his "exhaust port"
artimus prime
He's one good paint job away from being awesome.
Noideaforaname
The small size works for Rumble, he's a little guy.
Definitely looking forward to him, though I hate how he's shortpacked. I think Rumble would make a great sidekick for Dead End. They both got that brawler build.

The alt is kind of... cute. But:

That's a lot of unpainted areas.
Onion Pax83
Just something I made quickly...
MagnusPrimal
BBTS still has Ironhide listed as his casemate, rather than Kup. I don't want Kup, but I do want Rumble.

pull it off and turn it around then put it back in

This figure is tooooo funny. His chest hands! His whole chest is essentially a hand face, like the helping hands in Labyrinth. It is the forefinger and thumb together as the main chest with the other three fingers going down towards his abdomen.

But the clip on wheels are soooooo expensive that Hasbro had to cut back on something.
Jetbolt
I can't wait to order this figure, I doubt I'll find it in a store.
LCDR Blindside
He doesn't have a screaming face like the pictures!

Thankfully, Reprolabels usually takes care of this for us.

Oh wow, I NEED this figure. Can't wait to find him at retail.

If they can turn the paintless Knock Out and Ratchet into pieces of godliness, then I'm sure they won't let us down with Rumble.
soymonk
My god. He looks fantastic.
freak176
Is there a paint shortage in China? It must have been recalled due to lead. If it wasn't for Reprolabels.com, I wouldn't even bother with these (plug.)
DecepticusPrime
Don't let the lack of paint throw you off. He's a great figure.

Know what's funny about that... I see a smiley face... esp if you paint it up to invoke the idea further... contrasts quite a bit from the demon face on his bot mode torso. XD
Haloid1177
One of the few Prime toys I will make an effort to find. Looks like a very fun figure.
Azrail
Great gallery Sol Fury!
I hadn't even noticed those places that the guns can be stored.
Deceptigtar
i just noticed on the inside of the doors, there is molded detail of his g1 guns, mainly the tips, to look like the are popping up from the back. that will get detailed gold when i get him!

Its a budget thing. Figures on the whole have been receiving fewer and fewer paint applications as the years go on.
Seeker
His legs are hollow. Overall he is okay though.

ReproLabels, PLEASE do something for this figure.
Dormamu
I was originally on the fence about this guy because of the severe amount of blue on the figure, and the shoulders in initial photos. But DecepticusPrime hit that fence with a big hammer, and SolFury launched it into the sun. He's now on a short want to find list. I hope that with the waves are being squeaked buy retailers, I'll be able to get him. The shoulders actual emphasize the overall look of the piledrivers. I thought initially "why do my shoulders have car tumors on them", but now they look like engines for the pile drivers. Fantastic. I shall dub him Rumble Laggan.

To everyone: Buy more bumblebees and donate them to Toys For Tots. We need these new waves on the shelves.
RedAlert Rescue
He's very cute and I look forward to getting him - but I'm going to be a busy bunny painting him.

Headlamps
Indicators (front and back)
Tail Lights
Rear window - undercote (silver) and topcote (transparent red)
rear bumper
door handles
Wheelhubs (probably gold or maybe yellow)
windscreen and side windows surrounds (probably silver or black)
side mirrors (the glass part)
Rear spoiler (will check it against the Micron version stickers first)
Number plate
Underside of car roof (probably black or the same colour as the car body)
Disc brakes (if required)

And if he does ever show up on TV I suspect a lot of that detail on his back is also painted too.

So like Knockout he's going to keep me busy.
GAUGE0001
he's got the Weaponizer Prime's issue. he's just too blasted hollow looking from behind. :/

hardly any paint detail at all to speak of. wow. :/
ex dtw2003
IDK, I'm still not loving this guy. Really looking forward to MP Rumble being my classics rumble.

I decided to do mine silver with a Sharpie Paint Pen. Amazing improvement!
I'm going to do more tweaks to him just trying to decide what colour to do his rims
