We've got a few more quick pictures of Transformers Prime Powerizers / Voyager Class Megatron for you now! I was lucky enough to pick one up earlier today and believe me, this is an excellent release. The robot mode is very accurate to the animation model, the spaceship mode is also pretty accurate, though the main attraction is definitely the robot mode.

the brushed metal texture is amazing on the plastic, its just a shame they didnt paint it or use a darker color to bring it out, that is bone white...

Looks cool to me. Kinda want to wait and see what Takara will do with it colorwise.

hmmm.. maybe Ill buy this figure, he actually doesnt look bad, hes got back kibble but you can fold the parts back so you cant see it. Lack of paint doesnt bother me at all because I can paint it myself if I really need to. The weapon is kinda weird because the sword doesnt fold all the way back, but that doesnt kill it for me. So this might go back on my buy list.

Not really a fan of the sword and continuation of Mech-Tech. The sword looks too short to me.

He matches up with FE Optimus pretty well. I hope we get FE Optimus in the states. I'm dyin' over here

I love being alive in 2012 where I can buy this toy. We know he is not that big but his proportions are so powerful he LOOKS heavy.

I think it looks about the length it had when he cut down zombie Cliffjumper on the show.

I have to say I love the spiked shoulders on this guy. He looks like some sort of evil knight.

Yeah the brushed effect really took me by surprise. I was very impressed, it's a fantastic touch.

The colour in hand is pretty standard Hasbro gray plastic, but the brushed texture manages to save it from looking too "cheap". If Takara goes all silver though, that'll be a sight to behold.

Got a Voyager rerserved at Argos for pick up tomorrow. Hope its Megatron. Not that interested in Optimus since I have the FE.

The pic next to crouched Optimus makes me not feel so bad about the height difference.

I think he looks great, thanks for the pics. Man, people were going nuts over him being small but he isn't small for a Voyager at all.

I want to like it, but TBH, he looks a tad on the "meh" side. Will definitely be picking up the Deluxe, but I'll wait until a video review for this guy.

These pics do make him look better but the color still throws me off on him. I guess I'll hafta wait and see what TakTom does with him colorwise before making any decisions.

He looks decent but could have been executed much better all things considered. The height difference is annoying but in battle poses, it seems negligible without closer scrutiny. But since he's the only Megatron close in scale to FE Voyager Optimus, I suppose he's a buy. Great pictures and review!

I think it's less a problem with him being small for a Voyager, and more a problem with him being small compared to Voyager Optimus, who he should be larger and more imposing than.

This is perfect actually. I thought the scale would bug me but it's pretty close anyways.

Plus he does look good. I'm excited for his future release.

He would be really awesome if he wasn't that awful plasticy gray color. Hope Takara spruces him up a bit with silver.

Those early pics really didn't do him justice. Any doubt I had about this figure being great has just been demolished. The grey paint is kinda fugly but not enough to pass on it and I wasn't planning on displaying him with OP so scale won't be an issue..

SEXY...but unpainted. I'm gonna hold out for a (Hopefully) better Takara Paint scheme.

Well! looking at it now he's not that short as I feared he'd be. He's actually only almost as tall as Optimus so that's good!

Still maybe if I can find a way to upgrade his size a bit and make his chest just as wide as the FE Optimus figure he'll be all set!

And as for the scale to Optimus; eh, I don't care. It's close enough. Definitely purchased. You know...whenever they're released in western Canada.

Really glad to see that he's not just the famous 'Games Workshop Grey' - the texturing should make him much more interesting to look at. I have some minor concerns about his long term durability due to the extensive clear plastic, but I'm sure he'll be fine.

He's so small. He's so much bigger than Optimus in the show, but I would've gone for the same size. Everytime I think I might go for this guy I see another picture of him and turn away. Those shoulders are awful, too. They don't sit at all like they do in the show. That back kibble is likewise horrible. Such a potentially great toy ruined by a few, though major, flaws.

Honestly, I think that's how I feel about most of the toys from this line. I think I'm going to like them, but a few small things that annoy me add up and I end up not liking it.

I'm a lot more forgiving of this figure then I am of the RID Optimus Voyager.
The size doesn't bother me. To be honest, as transformers go, we're lucky he's this much in scale with the other two Voyagers.

The gray plastic doesn't bug me that much either. Mainly just because, when you think about it, most Megatron figures end up being that shade of gray.

make this guy in ultra class scale. leader class is also needed but i think ultra class will scale just right with voyager optimus prime. and paint the figure as well. mcdonalds toys have more paint application than this one.

I'm not singling you out so please don't think that I am, but I've just seen this kind of comment so many times these past couple of days I've just gotta acknowledge it.

Not everyone can paint, plain and simple. For those few and far between people that can, well that's great. That means that you'll be able to enjoy your figures more once they look more like you want them to. Most of the folks that get these things however CAN'T paint, so not only do they have a figure that they're less than pleased with but then they feel like they're inadequite because they can't "fix" their figures which they shouldn't even have to do in the first place.

Same here. The FE deluxes I have are so awesome. The more I see of the RID toys, the less excited I am for this line. I'm actually considering just buying the FE Voyagers and Cliffjumper, and calling it quits.

As far as the gimmick goes, the sword deploy on the MechTech is fun, and thanks to the way it is designed you can manually deploy the sword without damaging the mechanism. The light up feature is hit or miss, it looks okay on the sword and the arms, though the only place it really manages the whole "glow with power" thing is the robot mode. Still, having it in the weapon keeps the robot mode clear for simply transforming and being awesome.

All in all, this one is going to be well worth a purchase once he hits retail. Well recommended.

No worries, like I said it wasn't aimed at you, just that topic in general.

But yeah, looks like Takara will be my only option and that's IF he's even painted silver. Time will tell on that one.

More than double actually, which makes taking the plunge on a TakTom one so painful. But as long as I don't HAVE to keep buying imported figs for better accuracy I won't mind doing it this once.

Thanks for the nice and clear pics, the others gave us all we needed to know we want this Megatron, but these pics should make the decision much easier for anyone who hasn't made up their mind.

Still, at least we know there'll probably be multiple toys of this design, so we probably won't go wanting for a perfect representation...
