It’s Saturday and you know what that means? New Transformers cartoon day! Transformers Prime season 2 episode 3 and Rescue Bots Episode 4 both debut on The Hub today!
Transformers Prime, airing at 8:30 ET | 5:30 PT, gives us Orion Pax, Part 3. Things reach breaking point as a desperate mission is launched to restore the amnesiac Optimus Prime, even as he becomes ever more suspicious of Megatron.
Meanwhile Transformers Rescue Bots introduces us to the Flobsters in the episode Flobsters on Parade. Flying lobsters? It’s like the best concept for a Fuzor that we were never treated to in the 1990s! It’s airing in just a few minutes at 9:30 am ET on The Hub! Turn on those TVs and check it out!
We’ve got a little bit longer to wait for Transformers Prime to air, but while you wait, check out this new preview clip from Hitfix!

I fully expect a meme of that.

I couldn't help but chuckle and think when Prime saw his Con insignia…the look on his face was that of a hung over college chick waking up with a tramp stamp that she had no idea she'd even gotten the night before.

this was an awesome part in the episode, i tried explaining this to my wife, i said it was like an amnesiac capitan america finding out he was hitler, it was sweet how every thingturned out, like a Dr. Who episode for transformers.

amazing episode, and I think the show really addressed some issues, Less Dialogue for Miko, more Dialogue for the Vehicons. MUCH more dialogue between Cullen & Welker. And played to it's weakness of not having populated enviroments by having most of the action on cybertron.
Really hoping we get a legion commander of Bob,
If I have any qualm it's Optimus not remembering his experience, its a little Cliche' for the character to not remember what they were doing during thier amnesia (even more cliche' than having amnesia) but I suppose to moves the plot along more if the autobots don't know about project: Iacon.

Great 3 parter. Cybertron looks cool. If only they had the budget to show it lit up and expansive in the golden age. Maybe season 4

I meant that the fact a message came through the space bridge tipped them off that it was being used. If Megatron found out why this was happening without his permission, then I imagine the game would be up for Bulk, Bee and Ratchet also – then again I am yet to see the episode too – but this is a good passtime for a few minutes at least 'til I catch it on youtube lol.
Hypershock
im sorry but everyone with a ratchet avatar i keep imagining ratchet reading the posts lolz

But the alert was for Cybertron, not the Space Bridge.
I wonder if he suspected the Autobots (either the ones on Earth or elsewhere) had anything to do with it–does he even know about Vector Sigma and what it can/can't do?
There is something I think we're all missing here: why are the Decepticons building a Space Bridge; why are they trying to go back to Cybertron? Dead or Alive, it still has something of value to Megatron.
Was Megatron's need to ascertain the source of the sentry's activation on Cybertron curiosity or serious concern? Ratchet made Vector Sigma sound like lore, something folks may or may not believe. Megatron did appear to know that the Matrix of Leadership could destroy Unicron, but does he also know of Vector Sigma and its ability too? I suspect this isn't the case, for it he did, why didn't he ever try to take it from Optimus early on in the show?
I haven't seen today's episode yet, but I'm inclined to think that the sentry's alert wasn't one of immediate concern, but one of curiosity. Megatron could have been on the look out for the arrival of a lost fleet, a threat (that wasn't of Cybertron) or the return of life. Was it common knowledge to Cybertronians, that Cybertron was rebooting itself? Though the Decepticons are their enemies, I can't imagine the Autobots would be tight lipped about that.
of life returning to Cybertron, a new threat to plans in operation or the notion that he knew of Vector Sigma's location and its properties?

Yeah I agree with you on the first count and elaborate also. Remember Ratchet said something about leaving the Space Bridge open to deal with communications lag and (maybe by extension) facilitate a quick getaway for Arcee and Jack? Perhaps the subtext is not so much just that Arcee and Jack have been compromised on Cybertron – but how the alert reached Soundwave on Earth. Perhaps it normally wouldn't have gotten through at all if the space bridge was off – or if we turn the communications lag comment on its head, maybe Soundwave registered a boost of bandwidth when the motion alert came? Either way, I'm saying, sure, Megs suspects Autobots on Cybertron, but the subtext is he may now know his space bridge is being operated without authorisation.

Particularly if it follows that it is the Insecticon we saw which is in turn Arcee's vermin, then yeah, it might not be wild per se but I could call it feral, roaming or dormantas they choose but let loose and dispersed to certain parts of Kaon etc – most likely by Shockwave. By extension I could easily see that these Insecticons might be fitted with some kind of vital sign monitor or effectively just something like a radio collar fitted in wildlife reserves; even if one Insecticon turns out not to present much of a threat to Arcee – and Jack – then it still acts as part of a motion detection network.

I thought Soundwave was relaying what their ship's sensors was showing; I never thought of Soundwave himself getting this signal. He was using the Nemesis to track Megatron in the Earth's core a few months back, right?
As the Decepticons have built the Space Bridge, sending messages too and from Cybertron doesn't seem too far fetched to me.
I still find it humorous that Soundwave can sanitize the data core, but cannot open Autobot-locked files.

Hmm. So that insecticon is a sentry and not wild. Interesting.
However, I don't see how Soundwave picked up that signal instantly when Cybertron is lightyears away.

Love this clip! I like how Cullen manages to make Orion sound different from Optimus. Really looking forward to the episode!

I definitely wouldn't mind him showing up in this show at the end or any other part, really. I just don't think its likely given that we know a lot about this season's voice actors. New names have been dropped and their characters have been confirmed or sort of confirmed.
Soundwave, though voiceless (at the moment anyway) has shown us that his voice will be very close to his G1 self. I suspect that the show creators would want to go the same route with Shockwave–I hope so at least, as I love me some Corey Burton! I was so thrilled to see him return in TFA.
I would be very satisfied with Shockwave showing up this season, as it would give us a chance to go back to Cybertron, assuming he is still there keeping watch like he did back in G1, but if Megatron left vermin there to do that, I think Shockwave is elsewhere…

What in the world is Xvid and why do I have to download it to watch this clip?

Any doubts and complaints about Cullen I had at the start of this series have vanished. He's really hit his stride now voicing Orion Pax.

I've been thinking along the same lines there, as probably have a good many other fans since the possibility of a small number of characters being intoduced came up.
Bringing your two thoughts together, I feel at leas one, if not the cool way to introduce Shockwave is not to do it explicitly, unlike say, Breakdown and Knockout where they appear from early on it particular episodes that act as, well, vehicles for their introduction to a degree. Instead, much like the patient covert manipulator some have anticipated Soundwave to be, if Shockwave's characterisation is anything like that, I'm not sure the latter Con's schemes could be expressed even in one episode dedicated to him. Anyway my idea at least is that Shockwave could be introduced at the end of an episode – maybe even one with an arc like S2 ep 3 – and perhaps so that it's not even explicit that it is him, like a cliffhanger reveal at the end of the episode that lets the penny drop so to speak. Sort of like how alot of films don't reveal a main villain/monster 'til halfway through or later. Or now I've mentioned Penny, Inspector Gadget's villain, Dr Claw was a shadowy character – not that it should go that far, but Shocky, like Soundwave are both to me, variations on the sinister behind the scenes guy who still knows how to handle himself well.

Yeah, perhaps that's it… I wonder if we'll feel differently about this story arc when it comes to (hopefully) being able to plough through the firts handful of episodes if/when a Season 2 home release becomes available. First series first though lol.
Oberoniss
We don't know yet. Everyone's hoping, but I wouldn't be suprised if he didn't.
