Transformers Prime Gears?

Now, for something that's a bit of a question mark. 2005 Board member Deceptigtar, has received photos of an unreleased prototype of a Transformers Prime Gears from a source wishing to remain anonymous. This figure uses the Robots In Disguise Ratchet mold with the new head seen previously seen in his instruction pamphlet. The figure spots "gear" logos on his doors similar to the Revenge Of The Fallen toy of the same name.

Is this toy from the ghost of Christmas past? Or future? Either way, take this with a grain of salt. Speculate away on the 2005 Boards by clicking the title bar.

If they'd have produced it, would probably have bought it, but otherwise it's not a massive loss.

I'd rather he was the Decepticon Payload - but I like the mould - I just hope he's not a cancelled item like Frenzy might be and that it is a future 2013 product.

I wonder what his weapons are ?

it's nice to see this stuff buuuuuuuut i cant buy... make me sad lol.
i like ratchets mold but thought it was to small, would make a good gears. they seam to have gone through a lot of effort for a figure never to see the light of day....... who knows.

It's just he reused Prime Ratchet mould with a new head. Possibly a new color scheme too. Meh.

Kinda hoping this will come out in some kind of pack (store exclusive perhaps) with the previously seen Frenzy.

Hmmmm.... Assuming they're not canceled test shots, I can see Gears, Frenzy, Ironhide (the seller of Frenzy said he had a Hasbro Ironhide) and one other to be exclusives somewhere. I would have rather had these new characters than the Dark Energon figures.

Maybe Wheeljack as a proper Slicer or even as Tracks with a new head.

Well, that's why I said a "proper" Slicer...

Though the BH Wheeljack as Slicer is an even better idea. Prime Wheeljack as Tracks would look really neat though.

Color-wise, he kinda looks like Ultra Magnus.

Too bad the camera flash damn near obliterates the gear/Mt. St. Hillary logo (yet paradoxically doesn't really effect the "NOT FOR SALE").
