Maybe this episode will be an adaptation of the prime comics showing how Arcee, 'Cliff and Starscream got to earth (there's this scene with CJ and Shockwave fighting next to a space/ground bridge...)

Shockwave looks like a fusion of his G1,WFc/FOC and DOTM versions..Interesting....

I wonder if Rock will reprise his role for the flashback. It seems like they carefully avoided having him speak in the commercial.

Please let Shockwave be a character of actual significance and not just a lame-ass mad scientist with horrible depth perception.

At 0:07 seconds, I see Cliffjumper is... trapped!

Maybe the scene where I saw the giant beam shooting out from the sky and almost getting Optimus is the weapon that they were talking about. Arcee knew about it and had a flashback, which shows Shockwave and Starscream when it was still in production. That giant beam of destructive power seems important to me.

It sounds like the guy that did Tailgate's voice.

Well, I guess Japan is justified in using FOC Shockwave for its Arms Micron line, even though they don't look quite the same... it's close enough.

except that's always been his personality in every transformers saga so don't expect something different here.

i hope this is legitmately cliffjumper and not some clone or knock off or something.. with shocky in the ep im thinking its probably a clone or maybe akin to what the quints did with prime back in the old g1 toon. I hope against hope cliff is back to stay...especially since driftjack took off. Rather have cliff than WJ

Huh, Cliffjumper seems to be strapped to a table at one point. If he does show up as a clone in the present, possibly when Shockwave took genetic material from him?

I'm thinking flashback, but hey if they did find another voice actor and if GI Joe Renegades can bring back Ripcord then I've seen stranger things in the history of Transformers.

Really got hopes that Shockwave will be important enough to show up in several episodes and he can get at least a deluxe sized or larger figure. A commander sized toy wouldn't hurt either.

So nice to have the series back from it's vacation.

Shockwave looks... underwhelming.

I hope they don't clone him. That'll be such a copout, especially after they said "Cliffjumper will stay dead, but his relationship with Arcee will be seen in flashbacks" and "once we kill a character, they stay dead"

If they do clone him, I don't expect him to last beyond this episode.

*ahem* And in regards to anyone worrying that Cliffjumper has been cloned or something, I doubt it-- besides what the creators already said about him, the stuff going on in these clips looks completely out of context compared to what we know is happening on Earth, and the background looks a lot more like Cybertron. I think it's safe to say that this is a flashback.

I wondering why they only mentioned "Cliffjumper's Return" to Transformers: Prime and not "Shockwave's Debut" to to series.

Yay, Cliffjumper! Doesn't look like they're planning a clone of him...looks more like a flashback. Hopefully, they find a way to work the one-eyed psycho into the main Decepticon cast.

This better be a flashback episode. Can't wait to see Shockwave though and how he gets along with Starscream.

I can't quite place Cliffjumper's voice...it doesn't sound like the Rock or Nolan North, but it is familiar. I can't remember where I heard it before...

EDIT: Wait, now I remember-- he sounds like the voice from the Marine Corps recruiting ads! ...Weird choice (if true), but I can roll with it.

OK, i wonder... maybe if Shockwave is a shape-shifter (and no, i don't mean the regular transforming.) like he is in TFA then maybe, just maybe, he changed into Cliffjumper to capture Arcee ... just a thought.

Definitely a flashback episode. Starscream can't randomly be controlling Vehicons again after being out of the Decepticons for a while.

Shockwave's body reminds me a lot of Breakdown

he has the same shape kinda.

Yeah. He's probably a heavy hitter like Breakdown.

If it is the Rock, he doesn't sound the same--to me. The first ep you could 'hear' the Rock in CJ's voice, but not this time.

Oh well, can't wait for next week!
