Good news, UK Transformers fans! Some new Transformers Prime goodies are now available in the UK ahead of their US retail debut. The Transformers Prime Cyberverse vehicle assortment - Wheeljack & the Starhammer and Knock Out with the Energon Driller - have been released at UK catalog store Argos. 2005 Boards member Ishino made the first purchase at the Norwich St Stephens Argos.

Hopefully it will not be long before these also appear at US retail - their advertised release date at Botcon was August 2012 but the Botcon case labels typically represent a saturation date after first release. Stay tuned for more release news!

Cool.

Not really interested in the vehicles until Optimus Maximus comes out. Only one I'm actually interested in.

Hrm, I suppose I may as well pick up a Commander Prime... I was holding off in hopes of an Ultra Magnus or a Scourge-themed redeco. Looks like those are definitely not happening.

I've just managed to reserve myself one that is in stock at my local Argos for collection tonight - I wonder which it will be?
madman1366
I'm not so sure anymore. Knowing the way Hasbro has been dragging ass on everything lately we may not see these here until September or October.

For some reason I thought this ship was called the Jackhammer, but I guess using star works better for copyright purposes.

Cool find. I know my son is going to want that when it finds its way over here.
Chris McFeely
Woop! Been waitin' on these.

It is the Jackhammer in the show, but I guess Hasbro couldn't secure that name for the toy.
BIGGUY007
Is that 19.99 British Pounds on the receipt??
ORIO
Can't wait for these suckers.
Omnius
Aaaah! Must... resist.... Cyberverse awesomeness!

Seriously, I'm trying to resist the small scale after going a bit all-out during previous lines. These are testing my resolve!

Edit: There'll be one in my Argos by the weekend. Resolve severely tested.
Chaos Muffin
Which one of these sets lets you plug the Cybervers Commanders into to light up?

I noticed that too, and became disappointed...since that means the price here in the States will be 30 bucks (or more).

I was hoping for 20 bucks, but unless this thing is HUGE...I can't warrant the higher price tag to purchase this. We'll have to wait and see, or I'll just wait for them to possibly be on clearance later.
Bumblebee765
Hope they come to the USA sometime soon!

To convert British prices into US prices, it's normally a case of swapping the pound sign for a dollar sign. It will most probably be $20ish.

This. The UK are shafted (UK expression... keeping it real! ) for prices. £20 is usually $20. Over here, Voyagers are about £24 if that is a reference for pricing.

WAAAAHHHHH... the U.S. never gets ANYTHING first...WAAAAAAHHHHH... j/k. Looking forward to these.

Really? I thought the difference was 1.5 between the two?

I'm glad to be wrong then, lol.

For Hasbro, when they bring product across to the UK, they just change the currency sign. A $14 Deluxe is £14 over here. You are right that the exchange rate is about $1.50 = £1, but we get charged extra for...... no reason, I can see. (It's actually worse, and I don't want to derail this thread, but I know that there will be posts pointing out the difference in economy. This is true, but I did a quick study on TRU web sites a few months ago and found that most toys are 125% more expensive over in the UK, while Hasbro stuff is 150%-200% more expensive than the US.)
Deceptigtar
they are $19.99 or $24.99 depending on store in the states.

the current dpci for these are 087-06-0581, last i checked the scanner says $5.99, but its probably because they are not in yet, when I was previously checking they came up as $19.99.

Actual currency conversion rates have never been taken into account for these things here.

Now consider that RotF Supreme Devastator was $100 over in the US and then apply your new $ = £ to the UK release of that figure over here. That kind of conversion hurts more as the $ price goes up. And would you pay £80 for a DotM Ultimate Optimus Prime? Not to mention when it's applied to Masterpieces.
Just do that $ =£ for any figure you've ever bought. Sucky then, eh?
These days it's usually cheaper for me to just get someone in the US to mail me figures for $ cost and shipping than buy them at retail here in the UK. And availabilty is better over there too.
hotrod422
For whatever reason, these do not peak my interest.
tigerhawk16
can you take pics of the ship out of the box???

Not to mention those days when it was $2 = £1. Man, I scored some really sweet stuff back then.

Looking forward to it!
Autovolt 127
Awesome. It reminds me so much of how little I got from Cyberverse. I only have Bulkhead and 1 Steve.
Noideaforaname
I'm curious as to how well DotM Cyberverse Shockwave would work with this, given he never got his Driller.
TCracker
This will be mine.
Exodus
I'll get it just to complete the Cyberverse Prime line.
[Wing_Saber-X]
nice find. can't wait to get both, eventually.
Sol Fury
Just scored the Starhammer as well! So look forward to pics of both as soon as I can get home and get the camera set up
payres
In case you don't read UK Sightings these are now just £13.32 in the UK with other Prime products 25%-33% off.

You wait 4 months for them to come into stock and 2 days after they do they get discounted!

If you want to find out if there's any in stock locally then you can check stock, and reserve on the Argos website. If you want a particular one go in and ask for a cuistomer view.
Sol Fury
Curses, if only I'd known this at the time! Ah well, such is life. At that reduced price these are completely worth the price of admission.

Apologies on the delay with pics!
payres
I'm playing with the Wheeljack one and it's a decent deal for £20 even compared to what was being asked for the Action Sets last year. Wheeljack is currently sitting in the Skyhamer's cockpit - had we seen a picture of him doing that anywhere before release?
Grimlockimus
I really enjoyed the DOTM Ark set so if these are anything like that, I'll be picking up both.

Might've missed it also, but how well does the light up gimmic work on the translucent weapons?
payres
For my money Wheeljack's ship is better than the Ark.

The light up giimick could be better but any gimmick that transmits light from one part to another is always heading for a big #fail

But the light up bit does fit Minicon sockets so......
Stygian360
No pictorial and/or youtube video reviews for these dual sets yet? Unusual. I'm used to reviews going up with lightning speed. C'mon brothers/sisters across the sea.... get on it already! ;-D

If you can hang on a while longer, I'll have something for you
