The official Transformers Facebook page has updated with a Q&A with one of the Transformers Prime character designers, Augusto Barranco. This Q&A brings forward some great background information on how some of the character’s design features came to be, and is a fantastic read for those interested in what goes on in the design process of the Transformers Prime cast. Be sure to click on that link above and have a read of this latest Q&A.
Transformers Prime and its little brother series Transformers Rescue Bots are both returning to The Hub on February 18, 2012 – only a month to go now guys, who else is excited?!

^^Ed's strong enough to even take on Chuck Norris himself! Seriously he can do almost anything!
MaxxieOD
The only appeal I would have for Ed is that he's voiced by Matt Hill

Captn Jack > Ed
….and probably enough off topic chat.
kaijuguy19
Ed wasn't really Johnny Depp to begin with so that's understandable!
moreprimeland
Ah yes, EEE show, didn't care for it….
Okie dokie…but it's an ugly drawing.
kaijuguy19
Yep! It's great that the artist is having a goos time while creating one VERY awsome Decepticon!
Ed is a lovable dim witted oaf from the show Ed,Edd n Eddy from Cartoon Network who's part of a trio that pulls scams at the local neighborhood children. His friends are Edd (Nicknamed Double Dee to avoid confusion from the real Ed.) the brains of the trio who thinks of crazy inventions and is a total neat freak. He's also a compassionate nerd who dresses like anormal person and keeps his hat on his head to hide whatever happend to his head, and Eddy, the loud mouthed, jawbreaker loving leader of the group with a serious Naploein complex going on! Every episode centers around them making crazy scams to get enough money to get thier favoiurite treats jawbreakers. However thier scams usually fail misrable much to Eddy's frustration and dismay.
The reason I put a picture of Ed on one of my post is to show that even an dim witted simpliton like Ed thinks how sad an arguement about which style's the better one is.

Me either, I got the impression here was another artist that was very happy to be included with working on this series..and he was 100% responsible for Breakdown!!, one of our fave cons
On a side note: Who is Ed and why do we care if he's pleased??
MaxxieOD
Can we agree to disagree? Everyone has their opinions and that's fine…just please don't flame each other for not being in agreement.
Anyways, I like things from both the old and the new TFs, including designs. I'm glad they're not all the same personally. It makes each franchise fairly recognizable. That's just how I feel anyways.

This isn't my first run in with this Guy. So when same lame groups it's only in regard to his campaign to pigeon hold me into whatever group he's decided to turn his nose up against.
So for the record I'm not just some G1 fanatic in love with "boxed shaped robots " or one dimensional collector who's unwilling to see past the 80's or some old school fan who's mad because Bumblebee doesn't talk.
I'm YoungPrime and I wont be classified in said column because whatever his name is doesn't like my opinion.
So I'm done talking to or about that 10 yr old.
kaijuguy19
Shroobmaster was just saying that what Hasbro's really doing is to appease both young AND old fans. That means that Hasbro gave the things that you want after all. Just be grateful for it, but don't resort to saying that the pther groups are lame all right?
I appreciate what you're saying but Shroobmaster is right in his post. I never said I was wrong about thinking Prime's the best show. I said I was sorry if I'm giving the impression that I'm insensitive towards people who only like G1 and I was offending you. I'm afriad I agree withShroobmaster but that doens't mean you're wrong to have an opion either. We all have opinons and that what makes a fandom. Im just annoyed about the consant arguments about which generation/show is better or worst then another. Fights like that never end good and I want to avoid that happing the best I can.
YoungPrime
………….Bwaahahahahahaha!
Do you here this guy?
Seriously stop lumping me up in these lame groups of yours. I don't care why Hasbro did it. The point is I asked for this to happen which is contrary to your weak assumption.
I'm done talking to for ever. In your desperation to save face it only comes off more pathetic.
kaijuguy19, I thank you for being the bigger person. You're the polar opposite to this character here who instead of admitting when they're wrong will just continue to dig a deeper whole.
shroobmaster
Hasbro didn't give Alex Irvine the boot to appeal to classic fans. RID and MMTE don't exist because Hasbro is trying to appeal to g1 purists. High Moon studios isn't trying to make a better game because they care about g1 purists (tho their designs are crappy blocky because they are g1 purists themselves).
They're simply trying to deliver quality, regardless of who it appeals to. Be it new fans, old fans, be it the kids or be it the oldies. The Classics line and comics remain the only thing you will get just like it has been since 2006. The main stream lines will STILL proceed with not giving much care about the dudes crying for weak try-hard GI JOE Resolute version of TF. They're not listening to -you-.
kaijuguy19
Okay I'm sorry! I know that not all people like you go around treating fans of other brands like dirt. I didn't meant to come across as being a harsh lecturer. I know that some people from other countuites have their share of jerks but every fandom has their won share of them even Prime! If there's something else I misunderstood I'm sorry about that too. It's just that if you're not into Prime you don't have to talk here that's all.
You can just go into a forum somewhere on TFW that you can enjoy like the WFC forum.
See? That means that Hasbro DOEs remember it's original fanbase. If it didn't then why are they making such an effort to homage things from the G1 era? Hasbro also knwos that the G1 fanbase has a voice and are willing to listen because most of the Hasbro staff used to be and still are hard core G1 fans. They truley understand what you're saying. I'm sure that one day Hasbro could make a direct to DVD thing with things that you want. Hasgro wants to please old and new fans and so far they are doing a good job on it!
YoungPrime
Really now? Well lets see…
-The Classics/Generation line is still alive.(although it’s not moving as efficiently as I would like at times).
-IDW’s “MTMTE” and “RID” are both showing great promise plus to a lot of peoples pleasure neither tittle has no annoying humans.
-Issue 81 of the original Comic book run is coming this year.
-Hasbro gave Alex Irvine the boot which means that the next TF novel will hopefully land in more capable hands.
– High Moon Studio’s vision regarding Transformers lore seems to be on par with what I and many others see in that particular realm. Plus they seem to be working hard to improve on the mistake made with their previous game.
So discourage my POV, you will not my friends! I and many other people who feel the same way do have a voice and Hasbro has heard it. So think next time before you put your foot in your mouths.
YoungPrime
Perhaps you wouldn’t get so perturbed by my post if you didn’t try so hard to take my words out of context. “Devil’s in the details” was just me having a way with words and nothing more.
Don’t presume to know what I love and hate on this Site unless you actually read it from my post. “Despise” isn’t a word I would use for TF: Prime or Bayformers so quite trying to banish people into these bitter G1 groups just because we don’t always drink the same Kool-aid.
I haven’t disrespected anyone and I’m not going anywhere so you can just as easily ignore my post when you see them if they bother you that much.
FYI lecturing someone about not having to like what everyone else likes when ironically that “someone” is part of the minority here, only magnifies how backwards, self absorbed and arrogant the other the side of the Transformers fandom can get.

shroobmaster
They are. Just thankfully not to you.
Mechafire
Reading this interview, I personally didn't get that impression at all.
kaijuguy19
Oh for the love of Mike……
It's one thing to dislike the later styles of Transformers because it's your opionon and that's fine, saying that's it's the devil's work made by so called fans as you put it is entirelty another.
We get it you hate the Prime asthetic and you want a derect to DVD thing for the Classic/G1 look that's fine but dude if you despise it so much then what he hey are you doing here? You don't have to be in the Prime forum you know.
As for Starscream I'm sorry but the Prime Starscream is much more developed and dangerous not to mention a WHOLE LOT smarter then the G1 version. He's easly one oft he best version of the character to date! Again if you dont' like it that's fine but please enough with the whole "Hasbro never listen to us old school fan!!" crusade already!!!!
Not all of us are into the G1/Classics ashetic and prefer something different for some brands and it's not a crime!
For all we know Hasbro MAY make a derect to DVD thing for you so you can be happy! But for crying out loud stop ranting about how the other styles are hoorndus whne they are really just different styles for people to choose from! No one's forcing you to like Prime or any other universe that isn't G1 so knock the pitable neglecated G1 fan off! Hasbro IS indeed listening to the original fans and it's a slap in the face to them and the Desginers who grew up in the original gneration like you did ifyou just insult what they are doing for BOTH age group! Prime is one of the most mature TF shows out there alongside the WFC games!
Sprry if I'm being harsh here I didn't mean to come across as being that way. It's just please we get it you hate it and we're not against it just don't go on about it in that manner that's all!
Ash from Carolina
A really nice read since it gives some ideas on why they went certain ways with the designs. Always nice to know there was some logic to all of it instead of just I drew it that way because I wanted to.
