Thanks to a recent Target shopping trip by TFW2005 boards member TFPrime, we’ve spotted a few Transformers merchandise oddities that may be fun to add to your collection.
First up are two coin banks of Transformers Prime characters Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. They are hand painted ceramic and are priced at $12.99 each.
Also found were Transformers Prime “Mashem” figures, which are advertised as “super squishy” and are meant to be flung around like a sling shot. The pack found includes Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Bulkhead, Soundwave, and Megatron.
TFPrime was also nice enough to share in-hand images of a separate haul of his recently acquired Universal Studios figures of Generation 1 Megatron, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Also shared were in-hand images of the Kinder and Ferrero eggs which come with Transformers Prime characters that can be built.
Check out the images after the jump!

I'm going to give those eggs out to my buddies during Easter.

You just REALLY hate Megatron? I think I would smash… Optimus more.
Good point. And their phones have GPS, so one could even track them, if one were so inclined.
Sounds like you're suggesting we let someone hold the key and let them get a ransom (which the unscrupulous friend might eventually demand). Why not just put the money in a bank or investment fund? Y'know… cause of the ransoms… cause the agent would… nevermind.
I'm shocked only you said this. I know we're all THINKING it, but no one else says it?!??
Yes, I don't know wtf happened with that render, but it does look like BB's special cousin (Mudflap?).

Really? I should check it out. I live near he one in Hollywood

Hey, I think Universal Studios also had a Dino Mode Grimlock available as well.

I've already found the coin banks at my local Target

Brilliant! That's something I'd pay for!

Bank Bee looking a little durpy there.

They are cool for decoration, novelty item as it were. Would not keep money in it as it is ceramic, prone to breaking.. Have both, tgt released them some time ago in our bed and bath section.

The way almost all kids nowadays seem to be fused to their phones they kinda already do always have a barcode on them.
I'd be tempted to go around the shops and glue the plugs in place on the coin banks. They do make those tin can coin banks now you have to cut open to get at the cash within so it's not a totally lost concept of the sealed coin bank you have to eventually sacrifice.
I suppose you could always get a lockable coin bank and then give someone else the key for safekeeping until it's full. Then at least you can reuse the bank after it's been filled and then emptied and goodies purchased.
I might be thinking of the ones with the filling. So it could be the filling that's swinging it for me.
A little Optimus-shaped hammer you use to remove the faces off any and all character coin banks.

I know most piggy banks these days have plastic plugs so you can get your money out but I feel that it would be fun if they made a Megatron bank and when you want to access your money you can just smash his head to pieces with a hammer

As far as I can tell, it's the exact same stuff on both.

$135 for the set on Ebay? LOL!

I was thinking the same thing the other day. The plug on the bottom just sort of ruins the entire experience. The act of smashing open the bank is supposed to be an act of voluntary sacrifice – you REALLY need to want to spend the money before you sacrifice your beloved Piggy. But nowadays? It's the ADD/ADHD generation. Let's not challenge them or hold them back from being impulsive and irresponsible.
Life gets easier, people get stupider. Soon, we can just barcode our kids and wire them cash. Want a toy? Present arm, get scanned!

Target's DPCI number on those banks is 060-02-1065.

I'm currently saving up money for BotCon. These piggy banks will help.

I've had Choco Treasure before. It sucks in comparison to Kinder Eggs.
netkid
This is the legal American Kinder equivalent:
Choco Treasure – Chocolate eggs and balls with a toy surprise. Now available in the USA

Aaaaah the little Mash 'Em Soundwave is friggin adorable. I want it.
(And so is the candy egg prize thing, but I'll never see that here in the US outside of super-expensive on eBay. Stupid laws.)

Gotta find me a Prime figure…how do you get this front paged so more people can see it and someone over there who has one might notice?! lol c'mon!!
