Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters Voyager Class Optimus Prime Pictorial Review
Thanks to 78dm.net, we now have an up-close look at the Autobot Leader. The new images finally put an end to "whether we are seeing a Faceplate or a Mouth?" debate. However, on-package CGI render of Beast Hunters Optimus Prime possibly indicate a new CGI face model for the show. But, we'll have to wait and see to confirm.
A size comparison with the Powerizer Optimus Prime indicate that this new Voyager mold is much larger than the previous.

Looks freaking crazy. Like, if TFP was an anime, this is what OP would look like. His face looks weird though; admittedly I kinda wish he had a mouthplate.
Regardless, so far this is the only "redo" of a character in the BH line I think I'm gonna pick up.

Yeah.....looks like I'll just be buying the really big Predaking. Nothing else from Beast Hunters has really "grabbed" my attention as much as that toy has.
All that green (eyes, chest, sword) reminds me of Wing Gundam.

Not digging the face very much, but the rest of it looks fun. I'll probably end up adding this guy to the collection and seeing if my meager customizing skills can do something to make the face look a bit less weird.

Hmmm... Looks like a cross between Prime, Animated, Cybertron, and... Rescue Bots?
The brightness of it makes me say Rescue Bots, the TFP Voyager Optimus' colors seemed a bit darker to me. The chest and truck mode looks similar to the Cybertron version, and the head, looks more like the Animated design... but resembles Ultra Magnus?!
The strange thing is... all of it together makes for one cool looking figure. I wouldn't go as far as to say "badass" but with that sword he does look pretty neat.

Aha! I knew he'd look so much better once we got pictures of him which weren't horribly mistransformed. What is it with Hasbro's stock photo department?
Anyway, this guy looks almost purchasable now. I say 'almost' primarily because I'm suddenly having money problems, but also because I'm going to be interested to see what Takara will do with this guy's paint, and/or if a version with a nicer face comes out. Neither of which will help my money problems at all.

Thanks for the pics! I think he looks great, but like most I'm not turned on by his new face. Speaking of; any chance we can get a few close-ups of his face? I can't really make it out too well based on the distance from the camera.

I still wish that the green parts were blue, or at least that the side windows were the same color as the front windows, but these pictures look much better than the BBTS images last month.

Robot mode does look kind of cool, but the truck mode just doesn't work for me.
I believe that he does. It's just a really odd looking mouthplate.

I'll say that it looks better than it did before, but I'm still not really digging it. All that green is just ugh (regardless of what happens to him, the sword is not supposed to be green)
Also, where's his faceplate? He looks even goofier without it here than his old face did. Optimus toys should always have it, whether they give an option to hide/remove it is the question, but it should always be there to begin with...

Still passing on this guy (don't really need another Prime Prime), but he does look a lot better in these photos. If he gets a good repaint (ideally as a different character) I might spring for that.

I like the shade of the red and blue, not too crazy about the green, but overall he looks pretty cool and much better than the previous pics that were released of him. Plus he gets an oversized sword which PRID Prime was sadly lacking. Hasbro is doing so much better on weapons lately with FoC wave 3 and the BH releases. I'm keeping my pre-order.

Why green? Green just makes this thing look bad--love the robot mode though.

That's an interesting looking figure. It's like Animated, Energon, Cybertron, and Prime all had a baby. I'm interested I think ... we'll see.

I'm not a "hater", I'm a "disliker". The FE and Cyberverse Optimus are two of my favorite molds, not to mention me being a huge Optimus fan in general.
It just looks like a new design team are working on these. Hard to believe this is the same line as before. Optimus' face looks like an old corpse with a new body attached (may be fitting based on the recent events, but still). It almost looks skeletal.....

Very Nice! Needs a bit of detailling done and the green has to go (on less thats how he appears in the show) but, awesome looking. I hope he is as big as Voyager FOC Soundwave.
I am a novice to painting but would a black magic marker with future floor finish tint the windows black and get rid of the green or would the green still shine through?

Still prefer FE Prime... but this figure is worthwhile enough to get and repurpose I suppose... Who would work as a repaint though... Toxitron? Motormaster? An older deco of a Prime variant or repaint? ...hm...
